2023 Hyundai Creta EX 1.5 Petrol MT (All info attached in pics)

Additional Info :

Checked the service report provided by Spinny, looks like it was regularly serviced at appropriate intervals.

Just got delivered yesterday, test driven it a couple of times before purchasing but it was only for short time and short routes, found it decent.

Am also planning to take it to a Hyundai Service center and get it checked.

It's still within the return period in case I find any problems with it, so am planning to drive it as much as I can (but only below 300km so it's eligible for return).

Your opinions are appreciated.

#CarRepair Hyundai i20 NLine Check Engine light

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have an N8 DCT bought in 2023. Always serviced on time recently got a new battery installed too.

The check engine light randomly lit up while I was coming back from work.

Car is acting up. Throttle responses and gear shifting is weird and shifting at 3.5k rpm and staying there for a couple of seconds even after the gear shifting. Taking it to the service centre but any idea what could it be or what things should I keep in mind?

#CarRepair Please help 🙏🏻

Due to heavy rainfall, there were artificial floods in my city in Assam.

Unfortunately I drove one of the flooded roads. Now, water entered my car's engine, I towed it to the dealership. The earlier told us it would be repaired but it will be costly. And I am okay with that but now they want the engine to be replaced. Which I believe is optional?

It was our 1st car (Tata Punch) and it was only 3 months old, one wrong decision ruined my whole drive experience for life.

The dealership seems to increase the bill and not to help and assist us properly. Now, I want help from you guys what can be done. Please 🙏🏻

Second Hand S cross

Budget: Around 5-6L

Hi,

I am olanning to buy a second hand car but i can only find complications

  1. E420 drama

  2. A diesel is a diesel is a diesel

So i found this S-Cross 1.3 Sigma 2018 build for around 6.5L and it has run 65000 kms

Now i am not sure whether this pricing is absurd or a good deal

Considering this as a base model, and since it is banglore regt. , i believe this is already 1.5x the market place value

But i do need a car but i dont know whether my choice fits well

Ps: the other one is a petrol MH regt. Civic for 2L, i think thats E420 compliant

What i need from you?

Guys ols help me selecting a car at this budget

I want something of less maintenance but also not look cramped

Friends suggest me skoda superb and octas from DL which looks a good deal but i dont have any idea on those

Thanks in advance

#CarMaintenance Insane mileage drop ( E20 in E10 car ) - need guidance

I used to get a mileage of around 16 in city in my 2019 i10 Nios Sports which is E10 compliant.

But now, on a highway I get a maximum of 9 kmpl, here’s the pattern I have noticed-

A strange thing I have noticed - while refuelling on a petrol station - after turning my car on and being at a halt - I see a crazy drop in the mileage reading — it keeps dropping. Say if it was 10 before refuelling and after refuel when I turn my car on - at the petrol station itself the reading will drop upto 5 kmpl in small decrements ( 10, then 9.4, 8.5 - 7 etc )

and once on the road it grows back to a max of 8 or 9. Haven’t touched a mileage of more than 12 in past few months.

I’d like to understand if it’s possibly the spark plug, issue in the mileage sensor or something else? I would like to have some understanding before heading to the service center just so I don’t overpay for any replacement which might not be needed. Thank you

Hness CB350 squeaking

Whenever i am rolling and open theottle irrespective of the speed, there is some constant squeaky noise

Something that sounds loosening every rotation

Does anyone know what this is or has anyone faced similar issue?

I suspect its the throttle body or chain sprocket

Worst case would be the clutch

#Car-Buy/Sell Help me evaluate this used A6?

I’ve been looking at an A6 or 330i to replace my A4. As usual the used car dealers are absolutely insane at pricing their cars. I for one know how much discounts A6s used to go for brand new off the lots. The same doesn’t reflect in their used prices at all. Have a look at this example:

What do you think would be a fair value of this one?

#CarRepair Need a trusted Fiat Punto 1.3 Multijet Diesel service centre/mechanic in Pune

Hi everyone,

I own a 2010 Fiat Punto 1.3 Multijet Diesel with around 2.6 lakh km on the odometer.

I've been facing a persistent cooling system issue that multiple garages haven't been able to diagnose properly.

So far, the following parts have already been replaced:

Radiator

Oil cooler

Multiple coolant hoses

Thermostat-related parts

The car runs well, and I recently drove 120 km without overheating. However, the coolant sometimes overflows from the expansion tank (mainly when the AC is on), while the temperature gauge usually stays normal.

One garage suspects a head gasket issue and has quoted ₹35–40k for the repair. Before opening the engine, I'd like to get a second opinion from someone who has good experience with Fiat 1.3 Multijet Diesel engines.

Can anyone recommend a trusted Fiat service centre or independent Fiat specialist in Pune/PCMC who is good at diagnosing complex issues rather than replacing parts by trial and error?

If you've had a good personal experience with any garage, I'd really appreciate your recommendation.

Thanks in advance!

#BikeRepair Exhaust problem in my Apache

Post image
5 Upvotes

So my Apache RTR 160 4v (as shown in pic)

Is having vibration sounds from the exhaust from some time and today morning I passed a speed breaker and it sounded like a metal part loosely clanking inside the exhaust.

I once showed it to TVS Service centre for the vibration sound but they said the 'jaali' inside the exhaust might be damaged so thats why the sound is coming and it cannot be repaired, the whole exhaust will be changed which will cost a fortune.

And today this clanking sound of a metal part.

I know if i go the service center again, they'll just say it needs to be replaced and it doesn't come under warranty or insurance.

I am also having problem in chain and chain sprocket in the rear. Whenever I give the bike a pull, or increase the speed it gives a cracking or rattling kind of sound from the back.

Tried getting the chain tight from a local mechanic bit didn't help, he said he'll replace the chain lock tomorrow so I'll try that for that.

But the exhaust thing bothers me more.

Anyone who's gone through similar experience or knows what to do please help.

WRV Petrol Clutch Replacement Cost/Trusted Garage for Honda in Bengaluru

WRV Petrol Clutch Replacement Cost

My WRV is 9 years old and has 63,000 km on it. The clutch is hard, and I checked with a local mechanic who quoted 14,000, while Honda is asking 22,000.l for the entire kit.

What should I opt for?

Any suggestions for a mechanic in Bangalore?

Apache RTR 160 2V Maintenance Tips

I own a 2023 TVS Apache RTR 160 2V and an Ather 450X. Since I use the Ather for almost all of my daily commuting, the Apache has become my secondary/emergency vehicle and usually remains parked for long periods.

I need guidance on the following:

  • What is the ideal service and maintenance schedule for an Apache that is used only occasionally?
  • How many times should I get it serviced per year, even if running is very low?
  • Since the bike stays parked most of the time, its battery has gone dead and now needs to be replaced. How can I prevent this from happening again?
  • The first-party insurance has expired, and I want to renew it. Which add-ons are actually worth taking for a bike that is rarely used?
  • Are there any other maintenance tips or precautions I should follow to keep the motorcycle in good condition despite long periods of inactivity?

Am I being overcharged by my Tata service centre? Need advice before my 2-year major service.

Hi everyone,

I own a 2023 Tata Tiago (petrol), which is now 2 years and 2 months old and has only 13,400 km on the odometer. This is my first car, and when I bought it, I knew almost nothing about car servicing, so I mostly trusted whatever the service advisor told me.

Looking back, I feel like I've been overcharged during almost every service:

- 1st service: ~₹1,000

- 2nd service: ~₹2,500

- 3rd service: ~₹6,500 (The advisor convinced me to buy a Silver AMC for ₹3,999 by telling me my bill would otherwise be around ₹8,000 and that buying the AMC would reduce it to ₹6,500. He never explained that the AMC was valid for only one year. I found out only after it had already expired.)

- 4th service: ~₹3,000

Now my 2-year major service is due, and I don't want to be pressured into paying for unnecessary work again.

Since the car has only done 13,400 km, could someone please list everything that is actually mandatory for the 2-year/15,000 km service? I'd like to know exactly what should be replaced, what should only be inspected, and what can be skipped if it's still in good condition.

Also:

- What would be a reasonable bill for this service now that my AMC has expired?

- What unnecessary add-ons do Tata service centres commonly try to sell?

- What should I specifically refuse unless they can show it's genuinely required?

- Any tips on dealing with service advisors so they don't add work without my approval?

I'd really appreciate advice from experienced Tiago owners or anyone familiar with Tata's official service schedule. I want to maintain the car properly, but I also don't want to pay for unnecessary services.

Thanks in advance!

How to sell car in Goa for right price?

We want to sell our Ford Ecosport 2017 1.5L Titanium Manual in Goa.
Its top model and in actually mint condition. It hasnt run even 37k in 9 years (single owner).
Mahindra is offering only 2.5L as exchange cost.
Cars24 is worse.

I think 5L should be a fair ask? Please guide me as to 1. What should be the right cost?
2. where to find the right valuation buyer in Goa?

Honda City 2014 V MT.

In photos: Backshot of left rear and right rear tyres.

Yesterday I saw the left rear coil spring (?) hanging very low compared to the right rear. Handling has been okish although I feel the bumps bit more now, or maybe it's just my paranoia. I did have 2 big underbody hits during the last month due to water logged roads, but the impact was in the front half.

Questions: What is wrong with the spring thingy? Can this be suspension damage? Should I continue driving it? How urgent is it? What can be the cost?
