which one

My family is finally planning to buy me my first bike after years of talking about it, and I'm completely stuck on what to choose. From the beginning, I've wanted the Honda CB350 RS. I absolutely love the way it looks, and every time I see one, I can picture myself riding it. Before that, I was also considering the Suzuki V-Strom SX 250, but eventually the CB350 RS became my dream bike. The problem is that I'm a student, and fuel prices just keep increasing. With all the discussions around E20 and possibly E30 fuel in the future, I'm worried about how that might affect petrol bikes in the long run. I don't know if I'm overthinking it, but it's something that's been on my mind.I also started looking at electric bikes and really liked the Ultraviolette, but then I read about battery replacement costs. If the battery develops problems after the warranty period, replacing it is extremely expensive, and that made me hesitant.Another thing is that I'll most likely be leaving India in about 3–4 years for higher studies, so I won't even be using this bike for a very long time. After thinking about everything, I started looking at the Bajaj Freedom CNG. It seemed like the practical choice because the running costs are much lower, I could ride more without worrying about fuel expenses, and I'd be able to explore wherever I wanted without constantly thinking about how much petrol I'm burning. So I told my parents that maybe we should get the Bajaj Freedom instead.Surprisingly, they disagreed. They actually told me to buy the Honda CB350 RS. My mom said something that really stuck with me: "Get the bike you truly want. You won't get this phase of your life back, and you may never get another chance to enjoy your dream bike at this age."Now I'm even more confused. My heart says Honda CB350 RS because I've wanted it for so long and I know I'd genuinely enjoy riding it. My brain says Bajaj Freedom because it's much more practical and economical, especially as a student.I'm worried that if I buy the Honda, I'll regret the fuel costs. But I'm also worried that if I buy the Bajaj just because it's practical, I'll always wonder what it would have been like to own the bike I actually wanted.Am I overthinking this? Is the CB350 RS worth buying if I'm only going to keep it for around 3–4 years? Would you choose the bike you've dreamed about or the one that's more practical? And do you think I'd regret not listening to my parents if I chose the practical option instead?I'd really appreciate advice from people who've been in a similar situation or have experience owning these bikes. Thanks in advance

Advice for bike purchase

I'm planning to buy a bike in a couple of months and I wanted to ask for some suggestions and advices which might allow me to make a good decision.

I(25M) am a fairly new rider have ridden my friends' bikes occasionally, but only for short distances. I am somewhat comfortable with riding a scooter, but even for that I wouldn't call myself a good rider. My riding will mostly be inside the city with a few outstation trips on the weekend. Maybe once i'm good enough, i'll go for longer trips.

Given this context, I would like to have your opinion on these questions.

  1. Is it wise to buy a petrol bike given the new ethanol restrictions and my level of experience?
  2. Should I go for a 2nd hand bike? My main concern with this is I do not know what to look for to check for the condition of the bike and it might be fairly easy for neglections on my part. Also, are EMI options available for 2nd hand purchases?
  3. I have looked at some of the models, my main preference is to have a decent performance and ofc should look good(by good i mean something like R15, it's the one that i liked the most in terms of looks), and I liked Gixxer SF 155 and R15, i was wondering what you think about them for me? Or should I go for something else?(ofc i'll go for test drives too, but i'm kind of shy thinking i'll stall it or something when i do haha)

Ofc any other advices/models/suggestions that i may have missed are welcome.

Ultraviolette announces 100V architecture for Tesseract - Launch delayed to January 2027

The company chose to delay their launch to fix issues, deliver the performance promised and address feedback on ergonomics. More companies should take ownership like this instead of rushing out half-baked products to customers.

New rider — Xtreme 125R (dual ABS) or used bike for first purchase?

I’ve recently started learning to ride a motorcycle and have been practicing for about a month on a friend’s bike. At the moment, I can ride short distances (around 1 km) at moderate speeds (\~20 km/h in 2nd gear), but I’m still not fully confident—especially with braking and clutch control.

My primary goal is to improve my riding skills and eventually use the bike for daily commuting (around 45 km round trip for office).

I’m considering buying the **Hero Xtreme 125R (dual-channel ABS variant)**, mainly because of the added safety from dual ABS. However, since I’m still a beginner, I’m unsure if this is the right choice at my current skill level.

Given my situation:

* Is the Hero Xtreme 125R a good beginner-friendly bike?

* Does dual-channel ABS significantly help for someone still learning braking control?

* Or would it be more practical to first buy a second-hand bike, gain confidence, and then upgrade later? (isno ABS a concern here ?)

I’m planning to make a purchase by the end of May, so I’d appreciate practical advice based on real-world experience.

Have you ever felt confused, overcharged, or unsure during bike/car servicing or repairs?

I’m trying to understand how common trust and transparency issues are in vehicle servicing in India. Made a short anonymous survey (2–3 mins only).

Would really appreciate your responses 🙂

Also curious to hear any experiences/thoughts in comments.

DRLs on Baleno Zeta 2022

I have recently bought a new Baleno Zeta MT. I assumed that it has the top model headlights and thus DRLs too like in the Alpha model, just without the fog lights. I have not opted for Dealership fitted fog lamps as accessories, which they fir using a separate button and not using the stalk controls.

I also discovered that the top model headlights stalk is different from Zeta’s stalk. Can i somehow change the current stalk to get DRLs and separatly operating fog lams (in zeta the DRLs light up when on fog light option on stalk or auto).

Does anyone have any idea about this?

Bike Court Challan

Post image
3 Upvotes

I recently bought a second-hand bike from a dealer. However, it shows that there are 3 court challans on the vehicle. The ownership has already been transferred to my name, and I have also received the new RC.

When I asked the dealer about these challans, he said they would not cause any problem for me and that they would only affect the previous owner.

So, will these challans cause any problem for me in the future? If yes, can I clear them myself, since the previous owner is not available?

Hey guys,
Looking to buy a Norifumi Rocket 4 exhaust for my Xpulse 200 4V.

Used is totally fine, just need it in decent condition and DB killer is a must.

Open to sellers from anywhere in India, I’ll cover shipping.

Also interested if anyone has:

  • BMC air filter
  • FuelX Pro

Trying to get it for a reasonable price (new is ~19.5k, so not looking for overpriced deals).

If anyone’s selling or knows someone who is, please DM. Thanks!

Challaned for court

I was recently challaned in Delhi for jumping red light u/s sec 184 MVA warned u/s section 294 MVA while digitally impounding my DL. The challan was sent directed to court with no challan amount.

As per latest status available on vcourts website, the date of proceeding was 02.04.2026. But no details are seen.

The Traffic police warned me not to drive until I clear the challan to prevent further fines/ impounding of vehicle.

My query is:
i, what are my legal repercussions if I continue to drive without clearing the CHallan. Was the advice of TI correct?
ii. What wll be challan amount payable?
iii. Do I need to visit court to get it cleared or will it get cleared on Vcourts only in due course?

Goan classic 350 vs Bear 650 vs speed 400

Hey, i am 20(M) i am in 3rd year of my engineering and was wanting a bike for a really long time

I first learned to ride on a beat up suzuki zeus 125 that i bought for 10k in 12th grade but now i want something that i can daily and also take on long road trips (probably to the mountains) my first choice was the bear 650 because it seems perfect in all forms the only issue is that it a little out of budget and my parents are against getting me a 650cc bike because they think it is too risky so now i am stuck because i have my heart set on bear and 350cc people have told me is a pain to take on mountains and long rides

Please help me figure this out

Dilemma over ownership transfer of my bike.

I am willing to sell my motorcycle.i am currently living in my Hometown. And my bike is registered in the capital city 200 km away. Talked to one agent in my hometown and he told me he can do it , will take 6k ,file online challan and do rest of the paperwork offline .so no need to go to the capital city. Is it safe to handover the bike with challan and affidavit?

Which route to take?

Hi everyone, I am planning a bike trip to Mumbai from Delhi, but I am not sure which route to take.

Delhi-Guna-Nagpur-Nanded-Pune-Lonavla-Mumbai-Surat-Udaipur-Jaipur-Delhi

Or

Delhi-Sagar-Nagpur-Nanded-Pune-Lonavla-Mumbai-Surat-Udaipur-Jaipur-Delhi

I've heard there are many road blocks in MP, so if anyone has done these routes lately can someone suggest which route should I take?

sedan or hatch back for leisure use

Hi all my name is Jayadevan I work as an Artist manager in Mumbai and most of my work requires me to work from home , because of which i have gotten very comfortable(lazy) and rarely step out. Even if i plan something the thought of going out catching a rickshaw then catching the local and inhaling the polluted air and baring the frivilous honking discourages me.

For convenience I figured let me learn driving and buy a second hand car. I just finished my DL test and waiting for my DL . In the meantime I am shortlisting cars to buy .

In sedan after discussing with few redditor i figured honda city /civic( 2010 model) is worth looking at but I mostly see dealers selling it and rarely any direct owners . I decided to expand my search option and include hatchback too and Chatgpt tells me i20 will fit my requirement. But it will help if someone with personal experienced can give their input  and suggest alternative options too

Can you guys please suggest other options I can look at ?

These are my criteria -

1) NVH/cabin insulation - cant stand the constant honking, need as much damping i can get within budget.

2) Seating/driving comfort- I will be using the car for leisure only and rarely for work and occasionally planning to use it to travel to Goa/Pune/Banglore. So want something that's comfortable to drive

 3) Milage/CNG- Again since i am using it for  leisure would love it if the fuel milage is the best I can get.

Am not a speed junkie, don't care much about looks of the car and moderate to low maintenance is what I am looking at. boot space can also be sacrificed if need be

Toyota camry is the best car ever in india! And soo underrated!!

Recently for few weeks i swapped my e class with my friend with his brand new camry , and idk but the way it drives, comfort , suspension, features etc ! Everything is soo good ! I don’t think so there’s even any sedan in the segment or even in one higher segment which can defeat it ! It feels like an e class( obviously not totally)! And it cost almost 40 lakhs less thn e class!

Adventure Touring Enthusiasts!! Which Twin will you pick in 2026??

It's been a while since I've been touring on single-cylinder ADVs and I feel that the whole segment is kind of saturated - high time to progress to twin-cylinder ADVs. Now, speaking of the twins, we learned from EICMA 2025 that we have an extremely promising & competitive market in front of us for 2026.

These are the top 5 twin-cylinder motorcycles on my list to be considered for a test ride once launched in India. Which of these would you pick? Any other options?

In the picture (clockwise)

  • CF Moto 450 MT
  • Norton Atlas
  • Brixton Crossfire 500 Storr
  • Royal Enfield Himalayan 750
  • BMW F 450 GS
