Bought this XMG Apex 16 Max in April because it had an Easter deal for 2400 €. It has a 2TB SSD, 32GB 5600MT/s fast DDR5 RAM and a ryzen 9 9955hx paired with a rtx 5070 ti.

Absolutely love it, especially because of the mini LED display. Undervolted the CPU in BIOS via curve optimizer on all cores with a value of -20 and no crashes or noticed instabilities ever since. Limited FPS at 75 and switched from Nvidia Optimus to dGPU only to enjoy games in max settings and still have low CPU temperatures. I never really saw the GPU running hot except when benchmarking or using extreme settings in recent games with higher FPS limits.

I know this CPU is built to push and boost hard until it hits its temp limit but since I often play on the couch with the wife watching TV I like to minimize fan action as much as possible and still keep the mean temps low without compromising on quality settings. On top of that 75 FPS is more than enough for my old gamerdad eyes and definitely more than they were used to.

Got myself the beautiful Zephyrus with 5080, 32Gb RAM and 2Tb storage. Paid a lot of money for it, and I don’t know if I like it or not. It’s annoying to have all of these performance regimes, few from windows itself few from Armory and few from G Helper, I feel that they always mix with each other because every time I turn on the laptop - I have no idea what regime I’m now. Sometimes the Hide Taskbar gets deactivated by itself, and the dGPU transition to iGPU and vice versa makes the screen freeze for a little bit. Maybe I just need to learn how to use it, however so far it’s just somewhat complicated lol

With the heatwave and 28-30°C of room temperature I find myself power limiting the CPU to keep temps below 90°C while gaming. Though I've read that laptop cpu can handle even 95°C so maybe I'm overthinking it.

So for reference, i'm running FH6, on my ASUS Zephyrus ROG G16 with the following specs:

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H (16 cores: 6 P-cores +

Display: 16" 2.5K WQXGA (2560×1600) OLED, 240Hz, HDR

You would think these specs are enough to comfortably run FH6 on extreme settings at 60fps but i'm experiencing horrible stuttering that isn't tied to the graphics preset, i'm experiencing it on the Very Low graphics preset as well.

I'm attaching some benchmark results for reference, wherein you can see the graphics and performance settings I was running. Pay attention to the stutter count.

So far, outside of the game's graphics settings, I tried clearing my NVIDIA shader cache folder, setting the shader cache size to unlimited as well as the power management mode for FH6 to "maximum performance". disabling hardware acceleration gpu scheduling, turning off NVIDIA Low Latency as well as DLSS, turning off all overlays including NVIDIA and completely uninstalling razer cortex. None of which has worked

I’ve benchmarked my laptop using cinebench 2026, as well as 3DMark Time spy, both of which are giving me confident scores so i’ve ruled out hardware issues. I can’t seem to figure out why so much stuttering would occur, especially given my laptop’s specs, is anyone else experiencing this?

Hey I’m looking into buying a gaming laptop for the first time and I really just want to play games like fifa but I’m not home much so looking for a laptop that is good for running games like that. How much should I be looking to spend and any recommendations?

Should i Overclock my legion?? Would it make it more stable for games ? Or should i clean up the fans and change the thermal paste and then overclocking it?

Ok it all started 6 months before My Asus Tuf F16 3050 4gbvram and i5210h fell down from a high surface and it got a dent at the corner I got worried and as u soon as I checked my laptop everthing was fine untill my cpu temp started rising till 80 to 90 degree during gaming sessions (high settings) but my gpu was fine. Before imy cpu was at constant temperature but after this incident it switches and I felt the wobbling in the laptop when I checked my rpm i found my fan wasn't spining at highest speed then after all this I thought collecting money to change the fan which was around 3k rs but I found a tech guy and gave my laptop to him he said he will try to change its thermal paste because the fans are in good condition and it dosent need to change bcs my temps are normal in idle condition and after he added new thermal paste I found that i cid undervolt my cpu with throttle stop which actually worked and gave me from 90 degree to 60 degree but the fact that after thermal repasting my gpu went from 79 to 91degree during high games it never happend and it happend bcs of thermal pasting ig when one problem got solved another came I called him and he said to bring to him hell check it.. can u guys tell me a better paste to apply or any ther way to fix I don't wanna undervolt my gpu or does anyone know the default thermal paste so I can tell him to apply that or any other stuff

Today, I just installed Windows 10 from a USB stick due to some issues with the previous installation. I went to the Gigabyte website and grabbed the audio (realtek) driver package and ran that, let it ran with full restart and everything.
Yet now my laptop is still audio-less. It works in the sense that it recognizes the internal speakers and when I plug my headphones in, but no matter what I do audio can't play from them.

Please advise.

- Uninstalling the device in Device Manager and reinstalling

- Reinstalling with internet off

- Update Driver with automatic search in Device Manager

PS:- I have updated my BIOS to the latest version, Just replaced my battery as it was dead, Reinstalled my drivers by deleting them with DDU, and i just got my laptop serviced.

Complete story:- Its been 3-4 months since this is happening. First i searched and thought the power was that main issue as my battery was dead so i got it changed. It worked fine for a bit then the problem reappeared. Next fix i tried to do was deleting my drivers and reinstalling them via DDU in safe mode and updated my BIOS (which i got to know from other reddit posts). It minimized the issue like the game worked for a while and even when my laptop crashed the drivers were there. But not its back to worse.

Other thing that i want to mention is that it happen just with Marvel Rivals(because its the most graphics heavy game i play) but others work fine like GenshinImpact, GeometryDash, Sekiro.

Just please dont day my graphics card is dead :_)

Bought this John for 450 back 2 years ago, 1.5 in the GPU was starting to not detect and since then it’s been not detected. Took it to a microcenter and they think the motherboards cooked, they are trying to Reimage it rn but I don’t have high hopes since I heard MSI is POS quality anyways. I bought it with a upgraded ram and SSD, if it’s just cooked so I strip it and sell as is? Any value on it? Or do I try getting the motherboard replaced? Also, I’m definitely switching brands after this, so any help on getting a RELAIBLE, well built laptop would be much appreciated. Also preferably upgradable,
