I facing issues with laptop freezing, i noticing first before this happen suddenly the screen flickering black but sound working in background after fews second goes back to normal again sometimes, after a fews more weeks facing this issues the laptop completely freezing with display showing where is stuck without any sounds but display still showing to fix this issued temporarily, i need to reboot holding the power buttons. I tried reset windows, including reinstalling driver, removing the ram and ssd and putting it back in the socket, the result is still the same. I really need help from professional technicians or someone facing this issues before with their gaming laptop what caused this problem.

I’ve been getting stutters for a while now, I have a gaming laptop with a rtx3050 6gb, ryzen 7 7735Hs and 16 gb ram, I don’t even play heavy games, I only play r6, cs2, valorant and rocket league, which my laptop can run at 144+ fps. It started with rl but only when I saved the ball or scored, but now it’s on all games and more frequently.
My heat temperatures are good, not going more than 80 degrees when playing.
I’ve tried everything, disabling free sync on my monitor, updating BIOS, cpu and gpu drivers, disabling services, yesterday I had to factory reset my laptop in case there was a virus or something, but didn’t helped at all, disabling like 2 things on device administrator, etc. What can I do?

I’m considering the legion 5 15.3” but was also told the acer predator helios neo 16s/lenovo loq models were worth looking into. looking for something I can keep for a few years (obv)

I know jack about laptops/pc. Just got my first gaming laptop. Msi cyborg 15 has 5070 16gb ram and seems ok only been able to do minecraft on it and it runs smooth.. main concern is my download speed. On other devices (my xbox and phone) download shows 80+ mbps even speed tests on laptop. But i only get max 11 down even with ethernet plugged in… whats the issue?

Dang I feel kinda bad.

Fired up my old laptop to retrieve some files. It constantly idles at 100% cpu and refuses to up fan speed.

Back then, when I had turbo on, it would do 5600rpm constantly

So for reference, i'm running FH6, on my ASUS Zephyrus ROG G16 with the following specs:

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 9 285H (16 cores: 6 P-cores +
8 E-cores + 2 LP E-cores)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, 16GB

GDDR7 - 100W base + 20W Dynamic Boost (120W max
TGP)

RAM: 32GB LPDDR5X

Storage: 2TB PCle Gen4 NVMe SSD

Display: 16" 2.5K WQXGA (2560×1600) OLED, 240Hz, HDR

You would think these specs are enough to comfortably run FH6 on extreme settings at 60fps but i'm experiencing horrible stuttering that isn't tied to the graphics preset, i'm experiencing it on the Very Low graphics preset as well.

I'm attaching some benchmark results for reference, wherein you can see the graphics and performance settings I was running. Pay attention to the stutter count.

So far, outside of the game's graphics settings, I tried clearing my NVIDIA shader cache folder, setting the shader cache size to unlimited as well as the power management mode for FH6 to "maximum performance". disabling hardware acceleration gpu scheduling, turning off NVIDIA Low Latency as well as DLSS, turning off all overlays including NVIDIA and completely uninstalling razer cortex. None of which has worked

I’ve benchmarked my laptop using cinebench 2026, as well as 3DMark Time spy, both of which are giving me confident scores so i’ve ruled out hardware issues. I can’t seem to figure out why so much stuttering would occur, especially given my laptop’s specs, is anyone else experiencing this?

I just upgraded from a desktop (i7 11th gen 64gb ddr4 3060 12gb) to the top spec Zeph G16 (64gb 5090) and for some reason it’s not preforming as expected. I ran geekbench on the new and old and got about the same gpu scores, with the g16 slightly lower. I then installed g-helper and put everything to turbo/ultimate and got 190k (slightly below average for card), but blowing the 3060 out of the water. However, the card will still not preform in games. Minecraft for example only gets 200fps on fancy settings in the latest version and the old pc gets 800. F3 shows I’m using the 5090 and vsync is disabled. Anyone know what’s up?

So I have an Asus Rog Strix laptop from 2023. And it seemed normal for most of it, despite having a faulty drive it was doing everything fine.

One day I opened it up and I was unable to connect to the internet, I was genuinely confused. I am currently reinstalling windows if it could help at all.

Hi everyone, I’m looking to buy a gaming laptop—ideally at the lowest possible price, like anyone else. I don't know much about hardware; all I know is that with Nvidia cards, a higher number means a newer model. I’ll be using it for various game genres and possibly for learning computer graphics. I also need a laptop that will last me 3–5 years. I don't need maximum graphics settings; medium settings with a stable frame rate will be enough. Right now, I’m leaning towards the Acer Nitro V (i9-13900H/24GB/512GB/RTX 5060/165Hz).

Strong processor. I can't skimp here, PoE is a very CPU heavy game and the music production stuff is, too.

32GB of RAM because RAM is now so expensive that buying it lower and upgrading it myself actually doesn't make financial sense most of the time (what a change from the olden days...)

5070ti, maybe a 5080 if it was worth the money.

Laptops that feel plastic-y and flexible drive me up a wall. So I would prefer a decent build. It really does help things to last longer.

Notes:

My current laptop is a gigabyte Aero 15x with an i7 8750h, gtx 1070maxQ, upgraded 32gb RAM and 1+2tb drives in it.

I'm probably going to steal the extra 2TB nvme out of it for the new laptop.

What I disliked about this laptop:

Gigabyte's software

Fan noise

Backlight bleed on the screen.

Speakers are pretty awful.

Why did I do the dislikes first? Because that's the shorter list. Once I got around the gigabyte software and managed to get things stable with updated drivers, it's really been a joyous laptop. The build is fantastic, it still looks and feels new 8 years later.

This old laptop does an admirable job with PoE 1&2 up until I get into even moderately juiced maps and then it falls to pieces.

This is not my main rig, I have a built out desktop. I'm doing a lot of traveling this year and I was kinda miserable on a recent trip due to the outdated performance of this laptop, promoting me to look into replacing it.

Other quirks:

I've read some things about some laptops coming with badly applied liquid metal that needs to be replaced, that doesn't phase me. I've built many computers and repasted every component that uses thermal compound I've ever owned (even using liquid metal myself a couple of times).

The point for me which has seemingly made things tricky is the desire for a numpad. If not for that, a Zephyrus G16 or G14 seem like the obvious choices.

I've seen mixed reviews of the legion 7i pro, because some people don't like the plastic. I'm also not sure how much the nearly 1" thick build will bother me, being used to the aero15x which is quite thin. I also fully understand that the thin build is likely why I take issue to its jet engine fan noise. I have seen B&H have an i9 275HX + 5080 version of this on sale for ~$2600 a few times recently, and that was tempting but at the top of my budget.

My brother had mixed experiences with an MSI laptop a few years ago but I'm willing to give them a look. Is the Raider 16 max decent? It looks like that might be another top contender. I dislike the super gamer aesthetic but that's not a deal breaker for me.

Interested to see what folks here say, I've done a bit of research on my own but I always learn new things when I post stuff like this.

Spent 550 on a HP Victus 13th gen i7 with 1tb storage 32gb ddr4 and a rtx4060 i want to know if it was a good purchase for that price because im not super well versed on gaming laptops but it seemed like a good deal judging by the prices these days

Bought this XMG Apex 16 Max in April because it had an Easter deal for 2400 €. It has a 2TB SSD, 32GB 5600MT/s fast DDR5 RAM and a ryzen 9 9955hx paired with a rtx 5070 ti.

Absolutely love it, especially because of the mini LED display. Undervolted the CPU in BIOS via curve optimizer on all cores with a value of -20 and no crashes or noticed instabilities ever since. Limited FPS at 75 and switched from Nvidia Optimus to dGPU only to enjoy games in max settings and still have low CPU temperatures. I never really saw the GPU running hot except when benchmarking or using extreme settings in recent games with higher FPS limits.

I know this CPU is built to push and boost hard until it hits its temp limit but since I often play on the couch with the wife watching TV I like to minimize fan action as much as possible and still keep the mean temps low without compromising on quality settings. On top of that 75 FPS is more than enough for my old gamerdad eyes and definitely more than they were used to.

What hardware upgrades are actually possible?
Can I upgrade the RAM (32 GB or 64 GB)? Would dual-channel improve gaming performance?

The gaming laptop ı bought is working great but ı noticed that its getting hotter ı think when ı play a demanding game the cpu (a AMD ryzen ai 350) used to get around 70 degree celcius and the GPU (a rtx 5060) used to get around 60 degree celcius but now they are both getting a little bit warmer first it was 72 for the cpu then it was 75 and for the gpu first it was 61 to 62 and now its around 63 ı know that this is a very minor increase but still an increase it might have happened because the place ı played them in is hotter but ı am still unsur about it so ı wanted to ask.

2. Should have OLED

3. Should be under $3500 only. Not a cent above that.

Hi all. I've had this laptop for about 3 years now and have never had any issues with it until recently. Recently, about 5 minutes into playing a game that just had an update, my laptop fully crashed. Upon restarting, the battery wouldn't charge. I finally fixed this by uninstalling and reinstalling the battery drivers.

I figured the crash was due to a bug in the update so I decided to play a different game. 3 minutes into it, the same thing happened, including the battery not charging on restart.

Now, this keeps happening with multiple games, including the battery issue every time. I've made sure all my drivers are up to date. I've cleared up some memory. I've tried running diagnostics. I can't find anything wrong and don't know what to do. Please help.
