Too big? Galaxy watch ultra 2
Is it too big?

Last night, I put my watch on charge and, in the morning, when I went to use it, I noticed that the display was loose. When I held it, it was extremely hot, and I realized that its battery had swollen.
The watch model is SM-R870 and its versions were: One UI 8.0 Watch; Software: R870XX2JZE1; System: 16; Wear OS: 6.0; Android security patch: May 5, 2026.
Is there anything I can do? Is it worth taking it to Samsung's technical assistance?

The Galaxy Watch 9 just released and will get 5 years of OS updates instead of 3 on the Pixel and Apple Watch. Samsung is truly nailing update support recently.

EDIT: See reply below with new updated picture, will leave original post for posterity.
Original post:
Mostly US posts around on the subreddit, so I thought I'd chuck mine in here since I was struggling to find anything UK based showing what discounts are possible.
Didn't have any student discount or anything like that to add.
Used £14 of points & PayPal at checkout for another £50 off.
W9 WL26 MEM10 UNPACK
Figured might as well for the price. (Picture above doesn't show the free band from UNPACK as I redid the order - thanks to comments below).
Also if anyone uses their Samsung points and then cancels, your points won't show straight away. I looked around and saw a timeframe of 3-5 days, but they have reappeared somewhere in the region of 1-2hrs after the cancellation so don't panic too much.

Is there seriously no way to check messages, my most used app other than manually going through my app list to find it?

Quick question — I have some bands from the original Galaxy Watch Ultra. Are they compatible with the Watch Ultra 2, or did Samsung change the lug/connector design between generations? Would appreciate confirmation from anyone who's tried it ?

I have been waiting long time these new models. But it looks like every device has some demerits. For apple users it's easy choice but for android users it's obvious that we have to think carefully.
- Galaxy Watch 9 especially almost no battery upgrade, except chipset same specs, design, looks with last year, also the health tracking reliability less than huawei and pixel but solid software update life sapphire screen. And it pairs best with galaxy devices I think.
- Pixel watch 5 recent rumors said that no sapohire screen and outdated chipset also we expect no battery upgrade either. But best sleep and health tracking in class. Also software support comparable or better than galaxy watch series. One of the most minus for me is no sapphire screen. Also I have no idea it works seamlessly with samsung too.
- Huawei watch gt 7 pro we can expect mist sturdy one with sapphire screen and material quality and much more battery life. But almost no app support and software support isn't comparable either. But also decent health tracking algorithm except sleep. I don't know if it has some connection problems with Samsung. But sometjmes huawei devices doesn't show some emojis or whole email also missing notification as well.
For me galaxy watch ultra 2 is not an option because much more heavy, uncomfortable to sleep and very expensive.
And I am using galaxy A57. I know here is for galaxy watch. But to be honest which device I should wait and go for it? Any advice from former users of these devices ( older gens)

I have all three apps on my phone for the watch and I'm not sure I understand the difference. Can you please help? Thanks!

Every month, I notice my battery draining more than usual, so I have to backup the watch and reset it in order to see what's hogging the battery. Also when I restore my watch, my purchased and side-loaded faces vanish from the Wearable app, so I have to reinstall those as well. It's not the biggest issue in the world, but it's inconvenient.

Started with the watch Ultra in 2024. Then 40mm, 44mm, and classic in 2025 on the watch 8. Now we have a new Ultra 2, 40mm and 44mm on the watch 9.
Can I take a 2024 Ultra band and snap it into a 44mm watch 9? Will a 40mm watch 9 band fit on a 40mm or 44mm watch 8? Will the new Ultra 2 band fit on the old ultra? I've always wondered this but have never heard of an answer if they are all interchangeable or not. Thanks.

I tried to pre-order the new galaxy watch ultra 2 using the shop app. The price shows $699 with an instant discount of $100. I also have a trade in of $250. The subtotal shows $349.99. It wont let me go to the payment page as many others have experienced. I contacted the chat help and they gave me a link to checkout but told me the instant $100 is an error and they will not honor it.

My battery is only lasting from about 7:20 in the morning to about 2pm in the afternoon and I don't know why but it's really annoying, galaxy watch 5, it's also always so laggy like I'll swipe up to open the panel itll happen 30 seconds later, I'll turn off battery saver or sleep mode and it won't work at all

I was planning on buying GW 8 Classic for some time now but just realised series 9 will be coming soon. Do you think I should still get the GW8 Classic because of the rotating bezel or series 9 is superior. I will mostly use it for everyday things, less for fitness and other trackings.... Before I just used fit bands but was really missing bigger screen for emails and texts, and also would find maps app really useful on a watch. And I really dig the rotating bezel feature!

Have the sensors in smartwatches hit the ceiling. The last 3 gens of GWs have had the same sensors. Amazfit does the same thing. They're recycling the sensors like they don't know how to improve them.

I have just placed order for galaxy watch ultra2 and s26 ULTRA in exchange of my old S23 ULTRA.
I paid ₹125,405.
Is it worth the deal
r/GalaxyWatch • u/Strange_Status_7690 • 3h ago
I mean if you got it now since it's yet not available globally and some pre orders for some regions, how much will the battery going to rock for a normal usage and also for battery saver.
Like will it go for 3 or even 4 days for normal using? Along with GPS tracking? And considering 800mah battery but has a faster CPU and much brighter 5k display eating more battery.

I mean, there are some, but first is not working, and second doesn't support VLESS. I tried downloading apk from my phone, but it somehow broke my wifi connection (i had to factory reset my watch)

Is the screen protector for the Galaxy Watch Ultra (1st gen) the same as the one for the Watch Ultra 2 ?
