I noticed something interesting in Cowboy Bebop.

Jet is always trimming and taking care of his bonsai tree. A bonsai has the potential to grow into a huge tree, but it is kept small by being constantly pruned and shaped.

That made me think about Jet and Alisa. He clearly loved her and cared about her, but maybe he was also trying to hold on too tightly. In the same way the bonsai is cared for but not allowed to grow freely, Alisa may have felt that Jet's love was limiting her freedom.

I know the show never directly says this, but the parallel feels intentional to me. It fits with the whole theme of Cowboy Bebop that sometimes loving someone and holding on to them are not the same thing.

Curious if anyone else saw it this way.

I'm on episode 3 right now so please no spoilers because i'm adoring this so far, but am I missing anything? The first episode I watched was Asteroid Blues as listed on Netflix, then Stray Dog Strut and Honky Tonk Women, but other platforms have Stray Dog Strut as the first episode. Is this a fine watch order? I had a similar problem with B:TAS where even though all the episodes were standalone, there'd be parts where a character already shown is given an introduction later on, etc.

I've been trying to find the movie as a rental but I recall the last place I found it was AppleTV+ that I needed to buy. I live in US but looking for a rental of it digital that's at least under 15 bucks

Hello, I purchased this set a long time ago, and I can't find much info about it. Seems like it's been bootlegged to death, but I can't even find original pics.

Can anyone tell me:

• Is this a legitimate set
• Is it complete or did it come bundled with something
• Should I put this English release or the Amazon BluRay release on my server?

I have volumes 1, 2, and 3 and I got them for a very good price at a thrift store probably 12 years ago. Volume 3 has some damage on the front unfortunately

I was watching the opening credits of Day of Anger (1967) and for a moment, I thought I was watching Cowboy Bebop. They look so similar that I assume it must have been a direct inspiration for Watanabe's work. Was this a known fact?
