In terms of Aura not skill or who’s the best.
10. Haizaki
Specifically during this era. Getting whooped by Nijimura and eventually being forced by a 5’3” Akashi to quit the team, while also being scared of said 5’3” Akashi (rightfully so in his defense), took all of his aura. He got it back for a good 20 minutes in high school, but instantly lost it after getting shat on by Kise and knocked out by Aomine.
Honestly thought about leaving him off the list, but he’s more auraful than the guys below him.
9. Kuroko
It’s his basketball. The nickname Phantom Sixth Man is aura in itself, and he also hit a game-winner. Could arguably be 8th or 7th.
8. Himuro
Top 5 character design in the series. Walked Seirin down and carries Yosen’s offense when Murasakibara isn’t playing both sides. Lost hella aura by being jealous of the guy he introduced to basketball and getting kicked by Haizaki.
7. Nijimura
OG Teiko captain. Although he had a brief stint in the series, the one scene we saw of him playing basketball was insanely tuff. One of the few characters who wears accessories while playing.
Beat up Haizaki.
6. Murasakibara
The 6-4 spots could arguably go in any order, but for me personally, he’s 6th. He had his aura moments, like when he stopped the jump ball in the streetball game, picked Teppei up by his arm, knocked the goal down, and shut down Kagami (pre-Zone). It taking two people to block him is also aura in itself.
But he also lost to a 5’3” Akashi 1v1 after being up 4-0 and cried after losing to Kagami. Nothing wrong with showing emotion as a man, but it’s not auraful.
If I was counting the movie, he’d be higher.
5. Kise
Perfect Copy is crazy aura. On top of that, he’s a model. Some of the top aura moments in the entire series are when he first got Perfect Copy against Aomine and when he used Perfect Copy against Seirin and almost led a comeback.
However, he’s technically the biggest loser of the GOM. Also glazed Aomine in Teiko, so because of that, he’s in the 6-4 range.
4. Midorima
Probably a hot take, but considering the fact that his shooting range is nothing short of the entire court (his words), he doesn’t have to do much to be top 5. Outside of Aomine, he came closest to beating Kagami (tied), while everyone else lost.
I saw a TikTok edit of him where he told Takao, “Try not to forget that you’re walking beside a monster at this very second,” and it’s the reason I made this list.
Considered putting him at 3, but he gave No. 3 a few aura lobs and also lost aura against Akashi, so I just can’t.
3. Aomine
He could easily be 2 and debatably 1. He gave both Seirin and Kaijo belt. Scored 82 points in an off-screen game. Pulled up on Kagami at a streetball court and fried him. Fried him later on in the series in another 1v1.
The spinning steal he had against Kise was INSANE. Caught Kuroko’s pass with one hand. Grabbed his teammate by his shirt and lifted him against the locker with one hand.
There’s nothing negative I can say about his aura.
2. Kagami
Most people would have him lower than this, but I gotta give credit where it’s due. He beat the best basketball players Japan had to offer. Went Zone for Zone with Aomine. Scared Akashi. Received multiple aura lobs from other players in the show. Carries Seirin occasionally (most people say Kuroko carries them, but his efforts wouldn’t matter if not for Kagami).
Meteor Jam. Dunked on the tallest player in high school multiple times. Used Himuro’s fakes against him. Made a turnaround three-pointer even though he’s considered a weak three-point shooter. Arguably the coldest Zone entrance scene. One of three players with a defensive area (him, Murasakibara, and Akashi).
By a big technicality in their universe, he’s kinda, in a way, the best player. He deserves more respect in the fandom.
1. Akashi
No yap required. He simply just has the most aura in the verse.
Him being mentioned in other characters’ explanations says enough.
