Hey guys so starting to get sick of having bmws and want something more of a pocket rocket but not exactly sure where to start really love the look of the series 3s like s3 whatever however I have absolutely no idea what to buy I swear everytime I look for one it has a different engine however I’ve heard that the a3 can also push good power and save my pockets ? What should I be looking for ?

I'm looking for a new wagon, and have ended up on an A4 Allroad. I plan to keep it for over 5 years minimum, and road trip and camp with it a lot. Budget isn't much of an issue since I saved to buy an A6 Allroad but realized I don't need all the features. The A4 Allroad stands out to me with its looks, cargo space, ground clearance, MPG, physical buttons, and ventilated seats.

My question is,

What is the best generation to buy in terms of reliability? I'm basically in between B9 and B9.5. And what are the issues I can expect with that generation?

Also, what are some feature packages to look out for on these models? They are recently discontinued, but for some reason I cannot find a good list of add-on packages you could get with this model.

I am in the USA, so I'm referring to the US-spec version of this model. Thank you.

I know a lot of people don't like up badging for good reason. What about this? It's just food for thought and I'm ready for the brutally honest opinions lol

This isn't for me, but more-so for my mum. For reference I am based in the UK.

My mum passed her driving test in 2014, and has only ever had three cars since then. This being a Vauxhall Corsa, then a Ford Fiesta, and now a Ford Kuga. The pattern I've noticed is that she does keep her cars, she had her Fiesta for 8 years before taking on my dad's Kuga last year.

We had an Audi Q2 (mum's choice) back in 2019 ordered from new. It was an S Line, but it was a 6 speed TDI and it was awfully slow, so my mum made my dad keep it until the lease was up and he went and bought the Kuga, whilst my mum kept her Fiesta.

She loves her Kuga, and having a bigger car, but her dream car has always been a Q5. She's never seriously thought about getting one, until recently. My dad brought it up to her (if it was up to my mum, I think she'd still have her Corsa from 12 years ago), and they've spent the time recently looking at a Q5, specifically in District Green (maybe Ultra Blue at a push, but my mum is adamant on green).

Although all of the cars she's had are not typically "fast", she loves speed. So, my dad even proposed the idea of maybe an SQ5? I assume this will be the previous generation, so I think this depends on what can be found with what they both want.

Basically I know i've just waffled on, but I wanted to give backstory to my mum as a person and what I think she'd like in a car. She prefers the Sportback over the regular SUV size, and I really don't think she's going to let up on District Green.

If anyone else in here has the new shape Q5 or the old shape SQ5 (or even new too), if you could comment and give me any more knowledge that I can hand over. This is also just super exciting for me, I've been trying to convince my dad to put her back in an Audi for years now!

The yellow color is the reflection of the parking line next to it so it’s not discolored. But rim itself is getting textured? It’s does not feel like the clear cut has bubbled, it’s the actual rim itself I think. It does not flex or anything when pressed on. Any ideas?

I had mental health issues going on for the past couple of weeks and neglected the inside of my car while maintaining the outside of appearance of a clean car.

- main things I’m asking about is the center console since I’m not sure if it’s real wood or not
- it’s only food and drink stains since my family would eat in my car a lot

I totaled a car in 2024 (my fault).. Few months ago my car was totaled (not my fault wasn’t in it) … NOW i unfortunately fell asleep on the road the other night hit a guard rail.. main damage is on the passenger side. i for sure need 2 doors and front fender and bumper and rear bumper… doors alone will be a tax.. should I go through insurance or will they drop me or just raise my rate? if so by how much guesstimate?

I’m looking to add a honeycomb grille and a body kit to my Audi Q8. What would be a reasonable price quote for the parts and installation? I just want to make sure I’m getting a fair deal before moving forward.

I’ve bought Maxton front splitter and side skirts for my 2016 S3 8V, I’ve just put on the front splitter today along with the RS style honeycomb grill. We went to do the skirts next and my friend advised after looking at the instructions, that it’s not a good idea to fit them as you have to drill into the sills with self tappers. He’s concerned that Maxton have poorly designed it and it will cause problems. Are they okay to fit into the sills with self tappers or should I send them back and just leave it with the splitter on?

when I was at the dealer last week for a recall, Service adviser suggested complimentary upgrade to car's cell module. since my 2018 B9 SQ5 came with 3G and that is not a thing anymore. SO car now has LTE connectivity.

What functionality does it actually give me? I don't pay for any subscription so wondering how it will add to ownership experience. (He also told me it's not worth paying for it on my car anyway. )

It’s five years since the car was sold and I have a generous offer from Audi to replace the bottle of tyre sealant on my UK Q5 for about £80.

Is it necessary to replace it with a branded Audi version or can any old can of Halfords type sealant do instead ?

So yeah basically my oil pressure is low (0,8 bar on cold instead of 1,2) and i need a new engine block, but before i get money to buy it im driving with the low pressure and when the engine warms up and i get to low rpms (at junctions etc) i get the three damn beeps and warning which is kind of annoying, is there any way to disable it? Please save the oil pump comments

I got the message “Brake servo restricted you can continue driving” a few days ago and I have done abit of research and learned about the sensor issues.

I purchased a new sensor and installed it however it did not fix the issue, upon putting the original sensor back the message has gone away.

Will I be safe to continue to drive my car?

I’m going from a ‘20 sq5 so I’m leaning more towards the 55 but my husband reckons I’ll be fine with 50.

I’m mainly around town/country roads but occasionally do a long motorway run around twice a month or so. We have a dog and baby so that’s why we are wanting something bigger so the dog gets his own space.

Hi, I have an Audi A4 B8 with the 1.8 TFSI (CDHA) engine. Ever since I’ve owned the car, it has been consuming 1 liter of oil per 1,000 km—which is a huge amount. I’ve tried using higher-quality oil and oil additives, but the issue persists. I suspect the problem lies with the piston rings and pistons (a known oil consumption defect in Audi engines), but I wanted to ask if anyone has managed to completely eliminate this problem without an engine overhaul? I’d hate to sell the car because it’s great to drive, but the oil issues are incredibly frustrating. I’d appreciate any advice or help!

I’ve got a new 2026 Q8 picked up in April. I noticed that the fragrance dispenser does not dispense any smell however mmi says that’s it is full, both summer and winter cartridge.

I’m also considering to try change the smell to DIY to creed refillable cologne. Is that something anyone can help me with?

What kinds of options can I unlock on a 2021 Q3 if I pay for the software and cable connector to access the MMI?
