Does this look like the wrong coolant?

Good morning good people. I just purchased a 2016 Golf Sportwagen SE. 109k miles on it so I know a few things need to be done. This is my first Volkswagen ever, but I am somewhat familiar with the platform. I did e tensile research on this car, but in the process of buying, was rushed due to a family emergency.

EPC light came on while driving it home. It didn’t go into limp mode and the light goes away after the car has been off for a while. I haven’t driven it any more since. It was about an hour and a half drive from purchase to my front door. I know it’s probably due for a walnut blasting and changing the spark plugs (sounded a bit rough in start).

It was a little after midnight when I got in. I pop the hood and see the coolant is this color along with the green in the plastic there. I know it’s supposed to be pink in color. I’ve messaged the seller to ask if any leaks were ever tested or if somebody tipped off the coolant before I picked it up. Don’t want to end up with an expensive paperweight on my hands. I’m in the middle of moving as well, so I haven’t found my scanner to hook up just yet to see if anyone cleared/reset any codes before I took ownership.

Last bolt on wheel bearing ruined, can I just cut this corner?

Post image

Hi guys, I’ve been putting new front hub assemblies on my 2023 gli. This is the last bolt for the last side that I need to swap. The shitty triple square stripped out immediately and it’s just a round hole now. I’ve tried bigger bits, I’ve tried a chisel, I even tried welding nut onto it (I just have a shitty mig welder and it won’t penetrate enough to actually bond to the bolt). Basically, I’m out of options and kind of screwed because I have to work tomorrow. Can I just cut through this corner somehow to get the old hub off? Or does anyone have any other ideas?

16 Tiguan 1750 Rev Limit

Post image

I can’t rev my Tiguan past 1750 rpm. It’ll start just fine, idle just fine, but when I try to accelerate as soon as I hit 1750 rpm it just hits a wall and falls flat on its face. Problem existed prior to chain replacement.

Already did the carbon cleaning
New spark plugs
New water pump
New timing chain and tensioner
Checked charge pipe for holes
Cleaned throttle body
New intake manifold and runner solenoid
Ran it with no O2 sensor to rule out clogged Cat
New Injector seals
No codes or anything on ObdEleven
Fuel pressure at idle is 550psi and rises to around 800 at fall off.
Throttle body opens fully at full throttle
No tears on the PCV diaphragm
No misfires being mentioned in ObdEleven

I have no clue what’s left at this point. Any guidance would be very very much appreciated

I took my car to get a new timing belt I saw visible cracks on the side of the belt was making a abnormal noise so I took it to my local mom and pop spot a timing belt is way to involved for me. They replaced pullys belt tensioner and water pump. I got it home the following day I started it and it was making a different sound. I took it back they said it was just the belt and they sprayed some belt conditioner on it but im not convinced i pulled the cover off and I have been keeping a eye on it. It was 1400 bucks i don't the money to get it redone not sure what I should do if I should be concerned.

EPC/P164B Code GTI MK7 Help

EPC/P164B CODE MK7GTI PLS help, really lost

Hi guys,

I am getting the P164B oil pressure switch malfunction code every time I go past 4000 rpm’s, sometimes it allows me to go a few times before giving me the limp EPC mode.

I have replace the Blue and Brown high pressure oil switches, the wiring and connections look fine all over. I have also replaced my N428 valve, I believe the wiring is fine there too, but I’ll have another check.

I checked my oil filter housing and the o-rings, filter, stem and all looked totally fine, I had an oil change only about 3 months ago.

This code started about 2-3 weeks ago and I’m truly stuck as to watch it could be now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: also does anyone know if I could call VW about this or should I just speak to a nearby mechanic?

Looking for intercooler upgrade for VW Polo 1.4 TSI BlueGT EA211 (OEM 6R0145805H) - Plug & Play options or experiences?

Upvotes

Hey guys,
I have a Polo 6R BlueGT with the 1.4 TSI EA211 and the stock intercooler 6R0145805H. I’m looking for a proper performance upgrade but want something that fits decently (plug & play or minimal modifications).
Does anyone have experience with:
• Wagner Competition Kit on BlueGT?
• GTI intercooler swap (6R0145805K)?
• Other options like Airtec, Mishimoto etc.?
How did you solve the different hose connections (BlueGT has small 20mm on one side, GTI has bigger ones left/right)?
Any recommendations for adapters or kits that actually fit without too much hassle?
Thanks!

Embarrassed! Cant find simple part! 22' Jetta SE

Upvotes

cant find this part anywhere except 3rd party sites most of which sold out or kinda sketchy. Will not pull up in any exploded parts view I found on OEM, CCC, or anything.

Searched generic terms: lip, spoiler, guard, splashguard, air, mud, deflector, wing, channel, guide, etc..... no dice.

Found a few Ukrainian sites that have them in stock. Sometimes Russia.

Super weird....

17A 805 945 left hand side needed.

Upside down picture found on web: (shows RH side)

Going to go double check on vin tag this car is actually for US/Mexico market in meantime lol

What is this and can I use it? (VW Parrot)

Post image

Hey. I recently got my first car, a VW Polo 1.2L 2013 Match and the previous owner mentioned upon me asking what this was that it’s a parrot or something like that - some form of aftermarket Bluetooth device from my research.

It briefly powers up upon starting the car but then goes off and I was definitely wanting to pair my phone for calls and more importantly Spotify for music - I have an iPhone 15.

Can anyone please provide any help as to if I can use this with my phone and how to do so?

Has my arteon been remapped

Upvotes

I bought a 2018 vw arteon r line 4motion with one previous owner and fsh from an independent. it has no mention of a map in it's history.

When I am in either drive or sport mode (not manual) it shows on the dash D1 D2 D3 or S1 S2 S3 etc depending on the gear..

I saw online this is often an indication of a previous remap or at least some non stock tinkering. Can anyone confirm if this is the standard display please ? In the UK if it makes a difference

Cheers

Kapazitives Lenkrad austricksen

Alle Fragen seit Jahren und das ist die erste akzeptable und einfache Lösung, die ich nach langer Recherche gefunden habe:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIDXRkvDD9o

Engine swap

What engine swap is worth it more for a golf 3 92 currently a 1.8 90hp. I've considered 2.0 20v cause of the easily achievable high rpm, and it's little to no fabrication work, on the other side the 1.8t swap will achieve higher hp and torque at low rpm, but it alsoo will take a lot more work, but for a cheaper price? What is the bet if I'm building a touge street build?

How are the 1.5Ts in the Jetta?

I was looking at new Jettas to get as a daily driver and I used to have a 2019 with the 1.4t that I ended up getting rid of in 2022 and now I’m looking to get back into a Jetta.

I heard the 1.5t were unreliable and had heat gasket problems when they came out in 2022.

Did they ever fix the issue for 2025 and up or should I look at other cars??? Toyota Corolla is too boring and the road noise is pretty bad.

Honda civics are ok but even they are having engine problems with the 2.0 and the 1.5t.

Hyundai Elantras and Kia K4s are on my list as well mainly because of their warranty but they have very limited creature comforts

K so I drive a 2013 beetle, 2.5, 5 cyl with 160600k on it and yesterday my epc light came on, limped it home and then changed the evap sensor 1 port part, fixed the issue for 24 hours and now I’m back in limp mode pulling the same codes. Tf do I even do? Is epc really the death of VWs, I need this car I owe money on it without a warranty because it was a personal thing with a friend and I owe money to them still. 😭
CHECK ENGINE WAS ON FOR EVAP BEFORE THE EPC

Volkswagen MIB USA / Japan / Korea to EU Conversion DIY

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

I've seen quite a few questions about imported Volkswagens, so I thought I'd put together a quick guide for anyone bringing a VW from the US, Japan, or South Korea to Europe.

If your Volkswagen has an MIB infotainment system (roughly 2015–2024), it's possible to convert it to full European specification.

The conversion can include:

  • European navigation maps
  • European radio frequencies and stations
  • European language pack
  • App-Connect / FEC activations

For many MIB systems, the process is surprisingly simple. Depending on the hardware and software version, the conversion can often be completed using nothing more than an SD card or USB flash drive with the correct files.

Not every MIB unit is identical, though. The exact procedure depends on the infotainment generation (MIB1, MIB2, MIB2.5, etc.), hardware variant, and installed software. Some units only need a few updates, while others require additional preparation before converting.

If you've imported any Volkswagen from the US, Japan, or Korea, it's worth checking your infotainment version before considering expensive hardware replacements. In many cases, a full EU conversion is possible while keeping the original unit.

If you're unsure whether your car is compatible, comment or dm with:

  • Model
  • Model year
  • MIB software/version (if known)
  • Country of origin (USA, Japan, or Korea)

I'll do my best to point you in the right direction and let you know what's possible.
