I feel that an album's artwork has the ability to act as a lens through which to listen to the music to create a unique experience that you might not get from listening to the album in a vacuum. As such, I have always felt that an album as great as Weezer's debut deserved a visual component more engaging than just a static image of the band members and their practice space in the insert.

People have said that there's a humbleness to the album that the artwork fits, and I can understand that, but I still feel that Weezer's identity on that first album is unique enough to merit more interesting aesthetics. Their blending of new-wavey alternative rock with rustic harmonica and acoustic guitar, plus their lyrical references to X-Men and D&D, is something that could've lent itself to visuals that weren't just the band members and their practice room.

I always think of this poster for the band that features an illustration of two superheroines in a bedroom (third slide); it gets the band's geekiness across in a way that's not overbearing, and is appealingly colorful in a way that befits their music while also imbuing it with a bit of an ironic edge. To me, something in this vein would've served the album a lot better.

I've listened to Weezer's first 2 albums recently and have heard a few other songs outside of that. The thing I have noticed most strongly is that most of the time I can't understand the words at all. I think part of this may be that the singing is quieter than the instruments, but I'm not sure that it's the only reason.

Yes, English is my native language, so it's not that. I can usually understand the words to most songs.

Also, yes I can just check what thr lyrics are, but sometimes I cant do that when I'm listening to music (for example, when I'm driving)

Is that common or am I just missing something?

This is a CD single I own. There is absolutely no difference between the version of Say It Ain't So on this CD single, which is labeled "remix previously unreleased", and the "standard version" on The Blue Album. What gives? Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!

With previous milestones, how long before the anniversary were things teased?

I saw the deluxe version came with a little booklet. Anyone with a physical copy know if it’s something that’s added to all physical copies (even normal edition) or if it’s just a bonus for the deluxe?

It’s his favorite album and I want to gift it to him for his birthday, but I’m contemplating whether to: -try and get an old special edition now (which might be very hard to find) and make it in time for his birthday (mid August) OR -take the risk and wait for a potential unconfirmed release by the end of September

Just for reference, an old listing I found on this sub for a used deluxe edition currently sits at 750$, but I really want that little booklet :’(
