Appreciation Just moved from Verizon - you were all very lucky for a long time

It feels insane to me that there are so many people complaining about T-Mobile after I’ve been shafted for 10 years from Verizon by them changing their plans every 2 years and making them more and more expensive. Sure you can’t get 6 lines for $100 per month anymore from a deal you got 10 years ago but that doesn’t seem like a reasonable expectation with what T-mobile is offering.

I was paying 240 per month for 3 lines+2 watches with Verizon since 2022. In 2024 I cancelled the watches and got a “loyalty discount “ that would need to be renewed every year by calling in. price went down to $194. They always gave me a good deal on a phone as long as they were paid off.

2 years ago Verizon service stopped working in my house and they wouldn’t fix it - fine as long as the wifi works.

My sister‘s phone died Friday and they would not be able to give me a promo on a new phone unless I upgraded that line to their “new plans” which would raise my price to $226 per month. I tried online, on the phone, and in the store. No one could get me a better deal.

The guy in the Verizon store said to go to the T-Mobile store across the street; he didn’t care anyways since they are selling their corporate stores and laying off the staff. he even printed my latest bill to bring over there.

Sister got an iPhone 17 Pro for free, and we are getting $2360 in rebates by moving to T-Mobile and my bill is going down to $160/month taxes and fees included.

So far the service is better than Verizon’s ever was. It feels like Verizon gave up in 2020.

Discussion T-Mobile sent me this as a “certified” warranty replacement under Protection 360

My S23 Ultra developed severe battery drain, so T-Mobile processed a warranty replacement through my Protection 360 coverage.

This is what arrived.

The replacement was visibly used, dirty, poorly packaged, and still had the previous owner’s scratched and peeling screen protector attached. I did not remove it, activate the phone, or transfer any data.

Support offered me a $20 credit and ordered another device, which the automated text explicitly identified as CPO. I canceled that order because I no longer trust the replacement inventory and will keep using my current phone until I upgrade.

I understand that warranty replacements may be refurbished. My issue is that a device presented as certified pre-owned should at least be cleaned, inspected, and properly packaged. Leaving another customer’s damaged screen protector attached means nobody could have properly inspected the actual display.

Is this seriously T-Mobile’s current replacement standard?

Rant Leaving after 20 years

After being a loyal 20+ year customer of T-Mobile, this forced retirement is too far for me. After having multiple conversations with various support folks, it is clear that brand loyalty doesn’t actually count for anything. I spend $350 a month for all of my lines and services, and the hike would bump me to $400. Comparable Verizon plans put me at $240 for the same thing.

It’s such a shame that there is no room for carve outs for folks who have a history of loyalty. It’s throwing the baby out with the bath water. I don’t feel like this would have happened with old leadership, but the only way to do anything in capitalism is speak with your wallet.

GLHF folks, but I don’t suggest you let them pillage you for the sake of “reflecting the current needs of mobile users” double talk.

Discussion I finally see my "new and improved plan"

Upvotes

We've been with Tmobile since the SIDEKICK (2002).

55+ with "price guarantee".

Plan went up 18bucks last year, and another 18bucks this year, plus we lost kickbacks, and now I see that the "free" international roaming is ABSOLUTE RUBBISH (5gb when it used to be unlimited).

Just opened the account and see my new plan and the new "price guarantee".

Leaving Tmobile.

It asked me if I wanted to make changes to my account, I said I only authorize humans to make changes to my account. I had to edit this post because another AI Bot said I was being Negative Nancy.

Discussion Leaving tmo

Just switched to Verizon after tmobiles ridiculous price hikes. I even tried to talk to T-Mobile but after being on hold for 45 minutes I hung up. Their chat did not work either. Such a shame. They used to be great 7 years ago. Verizon cut my bill in literal half.

Question Tmobile PIN not working in Samsung

Upvotes

Hello !

I am trying to preorder a phone right now through Samsung but when it ask me for my login information (phone and PIN) it keeps saying it's wrong.

I called T-Mobile to make sure my account is not flagged any way and confirmed the PIN with them so I know it's right.

Has anyone come across this and found a solution ? The rep tried to tell me it's because I still have a balance on the phone but I don't think that's true.

Question ATT to T-Mobile

Howdy. I have 3 lines, and thinking about adding a 4th.

My ATT bill is around $210/month (yeah I know I’m an idiot). I do fairly well and the cost isn’t overly hurting me, but it just pisses me off it’s so expensive. Unlimited Elite plans and I’m sure some other BS on each bill.

2 iPhone 14 max are paid off, one iPhone 17 max has a $950 balance still due in installments ($38/mo).

I’ve had ATT for 20+ years, I’ve never switched.

Would it be better for me to get new phones to replace my iPhone 14s (get new iPhone 17s first) and then take advantage of the $800 per line incentive?

Is there a better/smarter way for us to switch?

I know there are cheaper monthly services out there, but we don’t live in a city and ATT is already spotty in a lot of areas. I’d like to stick with one of the larger providers for now.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Finally heard back and got the job. Any tips?

Ive worked phone sales before at a cricket. my location went under so now i did ny interview here and seemed to go well.

Crickets training was basically completely on your own, had a dozen virtual assignments that took about an hour each, ended with 2 zoom calls, then just working the floor till you learned. From what i heard T-mobiles is 2 weeks of 8 hr zoom meetings.

Anyway, how is it working there, do you feel satisifed with your pay/coworkers? (Mine is 23 an hour for first 2 weeks, then 18 an hour +50% comm on account services like insurance)

Question TMobile tethering randomly cuts in and out, starting about 1-2 weeks ago

TMobile tethering on my phone with good 5G signal used to be very reliable but recently became very spotty. It happened in multiple locations so that rules out the traffic / other users idea. I also didn't reach my plan's tethering limits yet. Has anyone else experienced anything similar recently?

Question T-Satellite 911 Signup is Saying My iPhone is Carrier Locked... It Isn't

Upvotes

I've used this iPhone SE 5G on AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile with no issue...

Currently I need it on Verizon, so I wanted to activate the $0 T-Satellite 911 eSIM.

The site is refusing, saying my iPhone is locked.

iPhone SE third gen is listed as supported. Anyone know what to do here?

Question When do you get your promotional credits from first billing cycle?

Upvotes

I recently switched to T-mobile and got four promotional phones. I was wondering when do I get back my promotional credits from my first cycle? Do I get it back next month and get double the credits?

Question Question about trade-in condition.

Upvotes

Currently on the Experience More plan, was looking to trade in an iPhone 14 Plus for a Samsung Galaxy s26 Ultra. I went through the condition check. Phone works as normal, stays on, no cracks, just scratches on the front screen. However the back is cracked, and it looks like the glass back is being pushed up on one side of the phone due to an expanded battery. It is very slight but still an expanded battery. Would this work for trade in condition check as its not in their criteria?

Question Under what circumstance would inbound calls not show up in Scam Shield?

This might sound strange, but recently I've had some inbound calls where the person says they are returning my call. I believe someone is spoofing my number for scam calls. The odd thing is, I get inbound caller ID ("Wireless Caller"), but when I open Scam Shield, the call is not listed? Why would this happen?

Question Who offers reliable customer service

Upvotes

The reason I'm leaving T-Mobile is primarily because of T-Life and the growing reliance on automated customer service support which I find totally useless. I've never had a problem solved by the so-called AI customer services. With this in mind, are any of the major carriers or MVNO's offering reliable customer service?

My experiences with Google Pixel support have been good, and my son has been using Google Fi for several years. I'll pay extra for reliable support.

Question Looking for a budget device around $200

Hi, i am looking for a new phone on a budget after my A71 has started to barely function, but I'm really unsure of what to look for, just looking around it doesn't really seem like there's much that is any good in my price range my basic stipulations are:

something that functions and isn't going to breakdown on me after 3 months
isn't ios or apple (just not interested, sorry)
and is within the price range of 200-250

I am still looking on my own for something, but thank anyone for any help they can lend

Question Phone stuck on roaming - service or phone problem?

Hi all, I’m desperate for some help. About 3 months after returning from a trip to Canada, my iPhone 17 refuses to connect to a T-Mobile tower and is constantly looking for Rogers service. So, I don’t have any cellular connection.

It’s been two weeks of being bounced back between Apple and T-Mobile, both on the phone and in-store and the problem has not been fixed. I have done every reboot and reset possible, set up the phone like it was new and still have the problem.

T-Mobile’s last statement (other than blatantly lying to me and saying they’d put a note in my account so I could get a new phone on a store, which didn’t happen and the store said couldn’t happen) was that I had to return it through my Apple warranty because the phone is only 4 months old. Apple said maybe they’ll look at it if I mail it in but because all their diagnostics say the phone is fine, they won’t replace it.

Anyone with knowledge, tips, suggestions on how to either fix the problem or navigate the T-mobile vs Apple blame game? I’m desperate.

Question WiFi Calling

Upvotes

Greetings, I am having some difficulty various samsung phones (S24, S25, A17) at a specific location. This location is a suburban area where the official T-Mobile map (https://www.t-mobile.com/coverage/coverage-map) shows dark purple (5g Ultra capacity), but the phones will not stay connected, this is both indoors and outside. They periodically go into emergency only mode. I have taken the phones to the local T-Mobile retail store and changed the SIM, but still the same issue. At this point I am planning building a solid WiFi network so we can use WiFi calling. What is the best router and access points for this application? I have experience with networking but just not specific for WiFi calling.

Question Unable to Migrate to Experience More 55+TI

Upvotes

Feel the automatic migration from Magenta 55+ to Experience Signature 55+ (2 lines at a $12 increase) doesn't offer anything I really need (hotspot, etc).

So, I tried with a very good live Customer Care agent today. Provided plan code from PDF linked here (from Android Authority)but best I could do was plan price ($110) found PLUS taxes and fees.

Had planned to upgrade our phones this year so thought better upgrade plan via Experience More 55+ would be best.

After 75 minutes, we concluded that I'd try the offered Experience Signature and see what the offer was when Pixel 11's are introduced next month and we could see actual numbers.. Without asking, I was thanked and offered a good monthly bill credit for a year.

Wondering if anyone was able to actually get the Experience More 55+ TI jump from Magenta 55+ ?

(For those wondering, walking is probably not an option as I have the introductory WiFi offer for $25)

Question Will I lose my BOGO free line if I move from Go5G Plus to Experience Beyond TI?

Upvotes

Talked to Care today, and they offered to move my 3 lines from Go5G Plus to Experience Beyond TI (C26BYDTI2). Unconventional, I know.

Apparently, though, I'd lose my BOGO promo (ID240374). I was expecting the $8 price bump on the GO line with Insidr, but not losing the full promo.

Any insights on whether the BOGO line discount will actually drop? Thanks!

edit to add: T-Force was my second stop and they also said it might drop, hence why I wanted to triple-check here before declining this offer.

Discussion Byod customer but phone replaced by Assurant warranty. Tried to sell phone later and they said it was “loan” status?

Financed or on loan for a repaired phone. I think even if you turn in an unlocked phone, assurant/T-Mobile gives you a T-Mobile locked phone ?
