New Flock Cameras?

I just saw a new Flock Camera near the Chevron on Avenida de los Arboles and Calle Damasco. Why are they putting them up and who is responsible for approving these? Is there some great threat here that they are needed?

Looking for a good GYN

Hello! Looking for updated recs for an obgyn. Currently see Dr. Grossman but he is kind of an asshole and the woman who answers his phone has been so nasty and rude for years.

Just looking for a nice, normal person with a decent bedside manner. Have a PPO. Partnerships for Women in Agoura is not taking new patients. Anywhere from the west valley thru Newbury park would be fine.

ETA: I’m looking for a gynecologist to do gynecology things. Don’t care about OB side.

Location for a mobile gaming truck

Hi everyone. I have rented a mobile gaming truck for our kids' birthday. We will also have laser tag. So we would need a pretty large space for the truck to be parked in. Now for laser tag, there will be pop-up obstacles but they wont be anything like bouncy houses. Imagine little pop up tents.

Any suggestions where we could hold the party that wont break the bank other than the local parks in the conejo valley? TIA.

David Newman for City Council?

Been emailing back and forth with Mr Newman. In my opinion, he’s a Republican posing as a Democrat. Republicans are not very popular right now, so pretend to be for the people to get elected. Just like Fetterman. No thanks.

No political party? That means Republicans. Is he ready to help others? Ask him yourself. These plain label Republicans don’t impress me.

Looking for physical therapy recommendations in Thousand Oaks

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for a good physical therapy clinic in the Thousand Oaks area.

I'm hoping to find a place with knowledgeable PTs who spend time with their patients rather than handing everything off to assistants for most of the session. If you've had a great experience with a particular clinic or therapist, I'd love to hear about it.

If it helps, I'd also appreciate any feedback on things like:

  • One-on-one treatment vs. high-volume clinics
  • Sports injury or orthopedic experience
  • Insurance-friendly vs. cash pay
  • Overall quality of care and results

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Updating my fantasy map of California and would love any new suggestions about what to include!

Post image
74 Upvotes

Apologies if you've seen this elsewhere - this is the most current version with lots of suggestions from other redditors.

I'm making a map of California in a classic fantasy style (sorta Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones). It's going to be filled with real world history and mythology, with the aim of highlighting local landmarks in a fun and educational way. Please ignore how rough parts of it look (text going through hills, rivers, etc), it'll all get cleaned up at the end. Forests will be going on at the end too.

While it's around two thirds done, I'd love to get more places and features in here before I get this made into print. Any more petroglyphs, burial mounds, ruins, forts, battlefields, Civil War heritage, ghost towns or the like that you think should be on here? Anything else is great too - landmarks, natural features, mythological creatures or just anything cool and quirky you think would look good on here. Thanks!

Anyone thrown a large group event on a beach? Need help

Hello!

I am getting married in September and a lot of midwesterners are traveling for it. I wanted to host a day-after-wedding brunch/lunch event, but my fantasy is having it at the beach (I live closest to Point Mugu!) so that these midwesterners can get an ocean/beach vibe before they leave California.

Has anyone thrown an event with tents and food and beverages at the beach? If so, how do you recommend I do it? Does anyone have an event planner, a company that sets up for you, or anything like that to recommend? I was thinking of hiring a taco cart guy, but do we need a permit? Can we make a reservation? Would I just send someone early to claim territory?

My mind is already swirling with the wedding stuff, so the day-after stuff is tripping me out!

Would love to hear any thoughts or advice! Thank you!!!

Closest beach from NP?

Hello, I grew up here, but moved away and am visiting with my 3 year old daughter to see again grandma. I want to take her to see the ocean when there is the least amount of traffic, and I am thinking first thing Monday morning might be best. We want to go walk on the sand and will be leaving from Newbury Park. We are early risers, like 6 AM. What beach is best accessible for us from NP?
