I've heard people say that a wired connection is so much better for gaming than wifi. I play via wifi and have fiber internet and it seems fine. Every wifi adapter I get I test for latency to the router and out of 3 adapters, 2 had around 1ms ping and the other had 3ms using ping -t and averaging over 1 minute of pinging. Does it really make that much difference?

I use an honor phone, a few days ago I started getting multiple of the same notification daily leading to the superlive app in the Google play store. I don't have it installed nor any dating apps. Websites have no notifications and I didn't install anything in the past few days.

I just want to know if it is technically possible to crimp an RJ11 connector onto a CAT6 cable using two of its wires and plug it directly into a modem's DSL port.

Will the thicker CAT6 wires physically fit into an RJ11 plug, and will it work?

I have ~400 hours in SM2 using the exact same setup I used today, HDMI plugged directly into my PC to an external monitor. Today the game crashed my computer while loading, I do not remember exactly when but I believe a few logos came up before asking for any input. The computer automatically restarted but the external monitor did not come on (laptop one did). I am currently using the same monitor and cable through a docking station.

I have a Nvidia card but it no longer shows up on the device manager and the Nvidia apps wont start because they do not detect it. PC is an AORUS 17. 'Kernel-Power' logged a critical event at crash "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first". A bunch of "Faulting application name: nvcontainer.exe" also show up as the PC restarted.

Edit: I found the driver in device manager but under properties it says that hardware is not connected.

Hi everyone, I hope you're all having a good time because I'm honestly having a hell of a time

A little while ago I was experiencing an unusual incident where the computer was showing as turned on, along with my speakers, keyboard, and mouse; however, neither the monitor nor the power and reset buttons were working. In my despair and absolute distress, after thinking I was going to kill my entire neighborhood, I found a switch that appeared to be stuck right above where the computer connects to the power supply. The switch had two red lines and a text that said "270 (I think)" and had a V. However, when I flipped the switch, sparks jumped and it lit up as if it had briefly caught fire, and then it went completely dark.

My attempts to get the computer working since then have been in vain. I would attach a screenshot showing the switch I'm talking about, but this thread doesn't allow image attachments. If you've made it this far, thank you for reading, and please, I BEG you, give me some idea of what I and my wallet are facing. Oh, and if this post is off-topic, please tell me which thread I can get the help I need in.

So when i went through my startup folder today because my ahk files werent working and found this shortcut just chilling there: "LG Monitor App Installer" i never installed it and haven't to agreed to it no nothing.

LG sneaks this through Windows Update or driver installs if it sees you've got an LG monitor plugged in and with no pop it just appears...

alright so i was going to open up my school laptop (working perfectly fine until today, it was just fine yesterday) and a few seconds after turning it on it just crashed and auto-restarted. this happened 3 more times, so 4 in total.

after the fourth time, there was a message telling me that i could either restart the thing again or so something else which i completely forgot what it was (i didnt pay much mind to it because im a MORON), and i clicked to restart again.

the fifth time, though, it DIDNT restart automatically! its now fully frozen, with the screen on showing everything properly. the fan isnt making a single sound (which if it was on properly, trust me, id hear it), and i cant turn it off or do anything. at all.

its fully charged, its had no problems like this one until today, theres nothing i did that could explain this (i just turned it off normally last night).

any help? any idea of whats going on? any similar experiences? im a little scared😓

I get cloudflare challenges a lot and sometimes I’m denied access to sites because of “unusual activity”. I don’t think any other device connected to my wifi has the same issue. I use Safari for iPhone. It’s not jailbroken and have the latest iOS update. No browser extensions. Sometimes I use a VPN from a trusted provider but I get the cloudflare challenges and so on regardless. I’m not doing anything unusual and have no idea what might be causing this.

Hi everyone! As the title says, I have extremely high response times on my SSD & HDD.
I recently purchased a new GPU & PSU as a recommendation from my local computer shop, and after installing these parts myself, I've noticed I reach 100% utilization & high response times on my SSD & HDD.

I've tried the following;
- Disable Windows Search & SysMain in services.msc
- Update BIOS
- Reinstall chipset drives specific to my motherboard
- Reset my PC (Keep personal Apps & Files option)
- Removed HDD in attempt to see if that could have been the issue

Hey folks. I recently bought this WD BLACK SN850X on clearance from Walmart in June for $279. Hell of a deal at the time.. or so I thought.
I first thought there was issues when games would sometimes glitch out very weirdly - textures missing, stuff being REALLY BIG, crashes, etc. I finally decided to see what was up today when I installed CDI. Horror!

The box says it was manufactured in Sept. 2025, so I'd think it still has warranty, but alas SanDisk's website says it does not, nor does WD's.
I'm confused. Where do I go from here?

I used Izarc for a long time (My teacher recommended that) since 2022 on my PC. I didn't seen unexpected (ads, pup, and other this kind). Lately, I've been looking into posts about this program, and they often mention bloatware, potential troyans and etc. My antivirus nothing detected since long time and here is virustotal scan.

Is now Izarc unsafe?

I can only reach as far as the bios. It detects all of my installed drives in bios & i can even explore the file systems in ezflash. But then if i try to boot off of an LMDE USB, Windows SSD or Kali USB, just shows me a black screen.

there are also no bootable drives detected when CSM is off

So my mobile phone's earphone jack (possibly the charger port too) got some moisture on it since i walked through the rain with my phone in my hand. This happened like 5 hours ago and those early hours the only thing that's malfunctioning is the earphone jack. I charged my phone and slept thinking it would be gone in couple of hours. Right now, the headphone logo would only disappear if its charged??? and if i take off the charger, the headphone logo would come back right in. I tried rebooting my phone and the issue still persists. I might've totalled my phone by carelessly charging it while still having that issue. The phone is now turned off rn and currently waiting for better results. Any thoughts u guys could give?

Games I have played since the upgrades: Cyberpunk 2077 (seemed to run mostly smooth until my mod stack got out of hand), Hell is Us, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Marvel Rivals. the latter 4 are unmodded

Cyberpunk seemsed to run mostly fine, but crashes now, MR has some framerate issues, but nothing too bad, the other three games on the other hand.. pretty regular stuttering and some frame drops. In Hell is Us there have been some significant haze around everything and sometimes I've noticed multiple character's hair being bleach white all of a sudden.

And oh my god the SCREEN TEARING on all of the above games (though I also had this particular issue on another computer recently). I swap play between a 24" monitor and a 55" TV, and the tearing is bad on both. They are both native 1080p 60Hz, so that has been my performance targets on all of the above games. G-Sync or Free-Sync are not available.

Things I've tried:

- rendering games native 1080p

- Using DLSS on multiple quality presets

lowering the graphics presets on all of the above games.

- GPU Hardware locked framerates tested: 58, 59, 60, 70, Unlimited.

- NVIDIA Vsync preset settings: off, enabled, adaptive, and fast.

- ReBAR enabled and disabled in the BIOS

- HAGS enabled and disabled

- game mode enabled and disabled,

- installed Razer Cortex and tried without.

- Set the power settings to "Prefer Max Performance"

- Updated my BIOS, NVIDIA Drivers, and AMD Chipset drivers to the latest versions

- Performed a clean install of my NVIDIA drivers using DDU

- Reinstalled my OS.

- Ran MemTest86+ just to verify that my RAM wasn't causing issues and it passed.

- Used HWInfo to check temps and for errors, and no visible concerns.

- Checked System Logs in Event Viewer and found no correlated errors to my performance.

- On FFVII and Hell is Us I even tried using anti-stutter mods but ALL of these issues are still a problem... not even sure what to do at this point, honestly. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Hi all, bit of a weird one.

My PC when connected to my home WiFi can't access the internet*. However my phone and other devices are connected to the same network and work fine. So it feels like an issue with the PC not the WiFi...

However if I set my phone to hotspot, the PC can connect to that and browse the internet no problem. So the PC is fine and it's the wifi??

I'm not quite sure how the same WiFi network can work on some devices but not others at the same time the PC can connect to one network but not the WiFi

I've tried rebooting the PC and the router, running network diagnostics and forgetting the WiFi network and reconnecting. None of these have helped.

Any help would be much appreciated!

But basically, my mom plays the sims a lot and yesterday everytime she opened the game a pop up named "DisplayName field missing from registry." appeared and asked to login her EA account on some boxes, but every she gilled them in it said our computer was offline (which it wasn't) and couldn't connect to the EA account, even tho, as I said, the computer was online and even had the EA app open.

i feel like I know where this issue came from. the last time she played, i accidentally shut down the computer without properly closing the game.

My wifi keeps disappearing mid session and when i check event viewer it shows lso was triggered i did claim warranty and they run diagnostic that was normal no issue even i replaced wifi hardware still i am facing this issue anyone knows how to solve this?

They said they will reinstall windows should i go with that?

Hello Techsupporters! Thanks for helping me out! So i use google chrome and ocasionally opera GX on my 2023 [i think] lenovo laptop. Now, randomly my wifi will cut out and it can range from a few seconds to a whole minute, its really random. HOWEVER, i ONLY experience this when i'm using my browser. When i'm playing a game it just doesn't disconect. i know its not a router thing since i live with other people who use laptops and their wifi is perfectly fine. I tried most of the usual fixes, preventing the wifi driver from being turned off in battery saver, flushing DNS and restarting my computer, clearing out saved google data, and its helping but not solving the issue. is there something i'm missing here?

I just purchased a new wifi extender thinking my old extender died due to it suddenly saying " no internet connection" even though it work fine before.

My extender are both connected to a DECO mesh. The newly bought wifi extender would have internet connection but for a few seconds only then it will say " no internet connection" afterwards.

I already replaced the Ethernet cable but it's still showing the same " no internet connection". I already tried rebooting/factory reset both extender and the main router same as the DECO mesh but still same result.

All other devices connected to DECO mesh are working fine and have access to internet. Only the extender are not receiving any internet even though it's connected via wire. I tried directing it to the main router but it will still show " no internet connection ".

I have accumulated three different Logitch Mice, one is an ergonomic mouse. I have gotten the dongles mixed up as the all three look the same. Is there a way to tell which ones go with a certain mouse? Or does it even matter.

I have used my mouse to view pictures in an album by use the scroll wheel and it scrolls sideways. Recently it just started scrolling 3 to 5 pictures at a time. I have reset the windows settings but no help.

For some reason Windows 11 detects my HyperX wireless headphones as speakers, and my USB speaker as a headset. This means I can't make the right adjustments for either. How can I fix it? I tried the Windows troubleshooting utility but it only wanted me to run Windows Update which didn't help at all.

I've recently got a new PC a couple of days ago and its my first time with windows 11. I've started getting an Ad for TotalAV whenever I start up my PC, I dont remember installing anything that would cause this, the ad starts with a security notice warning me of a Trojan virus, it then does a scan of my PC that says I have 4 issues then directs me to an 80% off deal on TotalAV, im not interested in getting this but I haven't been able to stop the ad. At the same time Google chrome stopped being my default search engine, it keeps swapping up yahoo and I am not totally certain if those are related but would also like help fixing that please and thank you
