Question Who is the main artist that did Arthur’s drawings for the game?
I just lost my good boy at fifteen and a half years. I want to get him drawn in that style as his memorial piece. My dog was my best friend, my son, and love of my life. Rdr2 also had a huge impact on my life but I don’t want a typical tattoo that everyone has. I want something unique that is near and dear to my heart.

Discussion writing some fan fiction, wondering what animals represent the gang
I asked this elsewhere and got all of one reply saying that Charles' daemon would be some kind of falcon or hawk, which I loved.
anyway, I'm obsessed with red dead right now and my best passion (aside from gaming) is creative writing, so I decided I'd creatively write about red dead. the result of a lot of thinking was an alternate universe based on Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials, where they'd each have a daemon.
In HDM a daemon is basically your soul physically manifested as an animal. this animal represents who you are inside, and separation from it is emotionally & physically agonising. the daemon is usually the opposite gender to the person, and in children it can shapeshift between animals. usually around puberty it "settles" into one form (so jack would have a shape shifting soul, basically)
tldr i'd love to hear people's ideas about what animal each gang member (and other npc) would have! right now I've given Arthur a deer for obvious reasons, but his loyalty to a fault & servitude to Dutch/the gang is kind of 'dog' (especially in HDM canon). I'd also like to hear what names they might have.
I know this is kind of niche and weird but this is what 8 years without a new game does i guess

Discussion [CONCEPT] RDR3 Pitch: Jack Marston in WWI (The End of the Line) - From Resentment to Redemption
Red Dead Redemption 3: The End of the Line (Game Pitch / Updated Concept)
Prologue and Historical Context (1914)
After avenging his father by killing Agent Edgar Ross at the end of RDR1, Jack Marston tries to live a quiet life at Beecher's Hope, helping his mother Abigail with farming and pulling off minor heists just to keep the ranch afloat. However, the government tracks him down. Knowing his family's outlaw past, they give him a brutal ultimatum: enlist in the U.S. Army to fight in WWI, or they will burn the ranch to the ground and kill Abigail.
To protect his mother, Jack accepts their terms but forces a strict condition of his own: he will never wear a military uniform; he will fight exclusively in a brand-new cowboy outfit crafted by himself. The army high command accepts, believing that he will look like a ridiculous clown on the battlefield and that he is only hurting himself. Little do they know, this outfit becomes his symbol of absolute defiance against the system.
Defiance, Journey, and Gameplay Systems (Paris, Switzerland & Spain)
The game shifts to the European front (1917-1918). Jack undertakes this entire journey completely alone, with no gang or crew to back him up. Large parts of the storyline take place across Paris, Switzerland, and a sunny Sevillian-style city in Spain. While the narrative provides compelling reasons for him to visit these countries, the game structure ensures he has plenty of time to freely explore the wilderness, hunt, and camp.
As the story progresses, Jack encounters various good-hearted people and innocent civilians affected by the global conflict. These interactions, alongside the harsh realities of the war, slowly make him question his anger, planting the first seeds of doubt about whether John and Arthur were truly to blame for his fate.
While certain chapters (like Switzerland) feature mandatory military objectives to advance the main story, actual trench warfare scenes are saved for critical narrative turning points, keeping the core focus on open-world freedom. While he mostly relies on his horse, there are a few rare, specific missions where he operates early war vehicles or even flies a primitive airplane. Throughout his travels, he reads letters from Abigail, who remains safe at the ranch.
The game introduces a unique Double Reputation System:
* Soldier Points: Earned by following military orders and completing tactical objectives during war missions.
* Outlaw/Karma Points: The classic honor system. If Jack commits crimes outside of duty and gets thrown into prison without paying his bounty, he will severely lose points, shifting his reputation and affecting how the world and the military police treat him.
The Climax: The Final Battle and Ultimate Redemption (November 1918)
The final chapter culminates in a massive, chaotic battle on the European front—pure lead, explosions, and mud. During this intense confrontation, Jack is mortally wounded.
As Jack falls into the mud of the trench, the distant, muffled screams of soldiers and the deafening echo of mortar explosions ring out. Sirens begin to wail across the field, announcing the Armistice and the end of the war.
- The Contrast: All around him, soldiers begin to celebrate, weep with relief, and hug as the modern world rejoices, but time completely stands still for Jack.
- The Silence: Slowly, the chaotic noise of the battlefield fades into absolute silence, leaving only the sound of Jack's own shallow, heavy breathing as the camera pulls back.
- Flashbacks of Truth: In these fading seconds, the raw horror of industrial warfare brings a profound realization. The world was already a cruel place; Arthur and John didn't drag him into violence, they were his shield against it. His long-held resentment completely vanishes, replaced by warm, sunlit childhood memories: Arthur Morgan laughing on a boat while teaching him how to fish, and John Marston proudly placing an oversized cowboy hat on his head.
- The Last Words: Smiling in absolute peace, knowing his sacrifice kept Abigail safe and finally broke the cycle of pain, he whispers his final breath: "Thank you, Dad..."
- Fade to Black: The screen goes pitch black in a graveyard silence. Deeply emotional, melancholic acoustic music begins to play as the credits roll. (The Epilogue is left for Rockstar to design, where players take control of Abigail back at Beecher's Hope).

Question What happened to the black water money after... Spoiler
Hello everyone, i couldn't find a proper response anywhere regarding what happened to john's share of the blackwater money after the pinkertons captured him in 1911, did they seize the rights to beechers hope and the money, did they freeze his account? or did John hide it somewhere? maybe he had already spent all of it.

Question Should I get RDR1 once I’ve finished 2? (read post body)
I’ve had RDR2 since a little after it came out, but after having a broken Xbox, storage issues and a move where my Xbox was in storage for months, I finally got into the game and I’m halfway through the story. When I finished GTA V several times, I thought I’d take a crack at the fourth one, but could not get used to the graphics being so low quality, so I refunded it, so my question here is, if anyone else had the same experience with GTA, did you play RDR1 after 2? Is the quality, gameplay, options of things to do, and weapons and clothes to get significantly noticeable and worse? (Specifics on the differences on them would be much appreciated)
Would really appreciate input before I fork out for it. 🙏

Discussion Dutch
Although I hate Dutch, a chunk of the “revenge killings” he did were satisfying as hell lol like Catherine Braithwaite, Bronte, Cornwall, and ofc Micah in the epilogue but that may not be only revenge ofc

Discussion Horses gender changed??
I’m on my second play through currently in chapter two where Hosea and Arthur go on their hunting trip and I get the horse from the stable. In my first play through that first horse, the reverse dappled thoroughbred, was a boy. This time it’s a girl??? Idk I just thought it was interesting — has that happened to anyone else? lol

Question Did the government seize John's property after his death?
I know Jack could still sleep in beecher's hope. But lore-wise, did the government took it after his death? I imagine they would.

Discussion Second Ever Playthrough, First on PC.
On chapter 6 but I don't feel like playing the game. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this game, I just don't want my Arthur to meet his fate. Any tips? I think the reason behind this is mostly fear of missing out on side missions and encounters, as I mostly skipped them in my first playthrough. Which encounters should I try and run to as Arthur?

Discussion Hear me out guys
Hear me out… this is the RDR3 I’d want.
Set it during 1898–1899, while Dutch’s gang is active, but don’t make them the main focus. Let us create our own fully customizable character (male or female) with our own name and story. Arthur, Dutch, John, Sadie, Charles, etc. should exist naturally in the world—you hear about them in newspapers, see them around the map, or even temporarily work with or against them—but you never replace or change their story.
Keep Rockstar’s cinematic storytelling, but let it adapt to the life you choose. You could become a bounty hunter, outlaw, rancher, horse breeder, trader, hunter, or lawman. You can try multiple careers, but whichever one you commit to becomes your main storyline, giving the game huge replay value.
If you’re a bounty hunter, maybe you’re hired to track the Van der Linde gang or O’Driscolls. You can capture them during certain missions, but they always escape later through scripted events so RDR2’s timeline stays intact.
Ranches should be optional, not a life simulator. If you buy one, it should feel alive with NPCs you choose to have there (family, friends, ranch hands, etc.), but you should also be able to ignore ranching completely and spend your whole game living off your horse.
Expand horses more than ever: breeding, bloodlines, horse trading, auctions, racing, more stable space, better AI, foals that grow up, and hundreds of customization options for horses and tack.
Character customization should be much deeper too: naturally growing hair and beards like Arthur, more clothing, ponchos, boots, hats, scars, body types, voices, and overall better customization than Online currently has.
The world should actually react to who you become. Famous bounty hunters should be recognized by criminals, successful horse breeders should attract buyers, rich ranchers should have reputations, and infamous outlaws should be feared.
Online should follow the same philosophy: less repetitive grinding, more careers, more roleplay opportunities, cinematic missions, ranches, horse trading, races, and the ability to toggle PvP so people who don’t want to fight aren’t constantly griefed.
Basically, don’t make RDR3 “The Sims.” Make it the most immersive Western sandbox ever made, where Rockstar still tells an incredible story—but every player gets to build their own legend instead of reliving someone else’s.

Spoiler I Have Somehow Gotten To Guarma As John In Epilouge Part 2
So i was in New Austin and did the throwing knife on swinging bridges to go to space when the game launched me out of the map. I exited and re-opened the game and boom, John Marston is now taking a vacation in Guarma.
