I would pick trailer 3 for now. I still want to see a little more of the story and other characters.

Gameranx just uploaded a video on why there might not be a trailer 3 and skip straight to gameplay
To summarise:
Seen a lot in the cinematic trailers already
Preorders already out
Might dampen the hype as we have seen so much already and people want gameplay
What do you think?

If y’all have played RDR2, you are very aware of Rockstar’s fictional version of the New Orleans called Saint Denis.
In my opinion, this is the closest example we have to what Rockstar is capable of with GTA 6.
Saint Denis is a densely-populated city with dozens of NPCs on almost every street within that section of the map. And most of these NPCs aren’t just standing around doing nothing. Some are working, some are socializing with each other, and almost everyone is interacting with the world around them (including you).
The city has constant movement, continuous background noise, a lot of different architecture, and a ton of random events, and feels genuinely lived in.
Although this city is much smaller in comparison to other cities Rockstar has had in previous GTA games, it feels extremely alive and proves one simple theory:
A dense city with a lot going on is a million times more enjoyable than a large city with not much to interact with.
Now, Saint Denis was designed and implemented within a game built for the base PS4/Xbox One almost 8 years ago. It ran smoothly then and runs even better now on next gen consoles.
Can you imagine what Rockstar is actually capable of with next-gen technology, new patents, and all the time they’ve taken to develop GTA 6?
A lot of people are doubting that Rockstar will deliver on what we saw in the trailers. In those trailers, we saw:
-Very populated areas that consisted of dozens (if not hundreds) of NPCs seemingly
-NPCs existing in their own little routines/worlds
-NPCs interacting with each other in ways we haven’t seen (for example: taking a group selfie or playing sports together)
-Increased traffic density
-Increased draw distance
-Some of the best (if not the best) graphics I have ever seen in a video game
The list can truly go on.
I understand that seems like a lot to deliver on, especially compared to other modern open-world games. But if anyone can, it’s Rockstar. They usually set the standard for years to come. RDR2 is genuinely still one of the best looking and most technically sound video games of all time, even until this day.
And after playing it again in the big 2026, and I’m beginning to see visions of what Rockstar could make happen with GTA 6.
I’m expecting every city to feel like a version of Saint Denis (outside of culture and architecture). Actually, I expect every city to be like Saint Denis on crack with even more NPC density, more interactions, more things to do, more random events popping up, just more alive overall.
Seeing what Rockstar was capable of years ago has me so pumped for this game. I can’t wait to see how far they’ve taken things.

Since Rockstar hasn't dropped trailer 3 just yet, I decided to make an edit from the footage we already have, and mix it with some of my favorite gangster and action-flicks, most of them settled in Florida and Miami. Other ones capture the Jason & Lucia chemistry or classic gangster style, like "True Romance" or "Carlito's Way". I added some extra nostalgia for those who like myself grew up with the original Vice City games.
Most of the scenes I chose, were specific moments in film that reminded me instantly about the trailers and how these might have been Rockstar's direct inspiration for Vice City and GTA VI in general.
Films that are used in this trailer:
Trailer song: "Urgent" by Foreigner (1981)
Had fun making this video and hope that this film selection might give you some pleasant movie nights until the game releases!
See y'all in Vice City, pals!

I don't know if it was here... but something is wrong, the extra and story items are represented, hmm

Since there's talk about potentially having limited weapon wheels like we did in RDR2, do you think weapons should be visible on your character's body?
It would be cool to see your character carrying a handgun in a modern holster, maybe even with the option to customise or swap holsters to match clothing. It could also be interesting to choose between open carry and concealed carry depending on the environment (people who carry irl will probably be familiar with the concept). I think that would really add to the realism.
For example, if you commit a crime, you could conceal your weapon, forcing police to actually search you. Just a thought, but it could be a cool addition if we're getting the whole guns-in-the-trunk mechanic.

Is it just me or does Jason look like Ryan Gosling over here

Since the first time I played the rub out mission in GTA Vice City and we take the M4 (or M16?) from the car's trunk, I always wished for a mechanic like that for a GTA game.
Only took it 24 years.
Jude Bellingham wasn't even born yet.

Don't get me wrong. I grew up on this series. As a kid, I played GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas back to back. Each one had its own soul and its own atmosphere. I still remember the awe of just driving around, discovering the world, testing what I could and couldn't do. Eventually I tried the missions too, and for a kid some of those were brutally hard. To this day I've only finished Vice City and San Andreas.
Then GTA IV dropped and that was a moment. It felt like stepping into a real, breathing city. The story had weight, moral ambiguity, and actual depth. Even now I firmly believe that IV is the peak of the franchise.
I still remember watching the very first GTA V trailer. I was hyped but also confused. Wait, is this HD San Andreas? I actually thought it was there will be three cities back then, and yeah, there was a little disappointment. But when the game finally came out, I was hooked. The Los Santos vibe, three playable protagonists, that felt genuinely revolutionary. I finished the story in under two weeks, right after school. Then came the YouTube deep dives, UFOs, ghosts, the Mount Chiliad mystery. That era was magic. I replayed it three or four times on PS3 alone.
Then the PS4 version dropped with first person mode and I was stoked again. Then PC. And after that, radio silence. I tried GTA Online X times, but it never clicked. The missions are repetitive, there is no real story or narrative, and honestly it just feels like a soulless grindfest. That is where the magic died for me.
Here is the thing. Between 2005 and 2013, I got to experience four completely different worlds. The cold gritty Liberty City with mute Claude. The neon drenched 80s Vice City that made me fall in love with synthwave and retro vibes. The vast chaotic state of San Andreas with CJ and gang warfare. And finally the raw, realistic NYC of GTA IV. Each one felt like a new chapter. And then came GTA V. It was amazing, don't get me wrong. But by 2015 I already knew every street, every alley, every mountain. I had finished it four times. The world stopped surprising me. And Rockstar just stopped moving forward.
Thirteen years. And what did we get? A couple of online DLC like new island, heists, some flying bikes and cars. That is it. No new single player expansion. No new city. No new story. I do not hate GTA V. It is a great game. But it also killed the cycle that made Rockstar special. The cycle of stepping into a new world every few years.
So yeah, I am cautiously hyped for GTA VI. Not because I expect perfection, but because I desperately want to feel that wonder again. That curiosity. That feeling of being a kid, lost in a city I have never seen before.

Rockstar is obsessed with UFO's so there's no way there wouldn't be one.

One small feature I'd absolutely love to see return in GTA VI is unique Mission Passed themes, similar to GTA IV.
In GTA IV, different missions had different completion themes, which made each one feel more memorable and gave them their own identity. It was a subtle detail, but it added a lot to the overall atmosphere and made finishing a mission feel genuinely rewarding.
By comparison, GTA V only had one generic Mission Passed theme. While it's kinda iconic in its own way, hearing the exact same tune after almost every mission made it feel repetitive and, honestly, a bit bland compared to the ones in older games.
I'd love to see Rockstar bring back multiple Mission Passed themes in GTA VI. It's a small detail, but it's exactly the kind of thing that helps make each mission feel unique and memorable.

Don’t count on any previous marketing strategies. Gameplay trailer etc will come very late. Real life marketing, the week of release. Short term hype and sales is the marketing world of 2026. You see a certain thing go viral online, that week it sells a lot. Not 4-5 months later.

Since Los Santos Customs was originally a take on West Coast Customs and Pimp My Ride, and they’re no longer culturally relevant, will we see GTA 6 bring back the iconic Pay N Spray from the series other titles?
r/GTA6 • u/CreativeEmu585 • 2h ago
I thought they were pretty fun in RDR2, and there's surely a lot of different ones they could add 😊👍 I personally think there could be longer and harder ones as well compared to RDR2. What do you think?
r/GTA6 • u/No-Speed7715 • 1h ago
I'm not talking about things like better graphics or more interiors. I mean completely new gameplay mechanics that would make the world feel deeper and more dynamic.
One idea I have was to frame NPCs for crimes you committed (part of antagonise system), or to be able to call services like ambulances and police to a location.

Do we have any information on which option is more likely? I really hope its a universal release. If not, I’m staying far away from social media the moment New Zealand gets access.

Like everyone I’ve watched the trailers, screenshots and leaks countless times. But clearly, there’s still lots we don’t even yet know about. This game already looks so fucking cool from everything we have seen, but imagine day 1 entering Leonida and discovering everything they’ve kept hidden. This could be small things from gameplay mechanics, to huge things like an additional city(s), distant islands, enterable interiors etc.
Imagine the sensation of discovering more and more as we play, being blown away by every little thing we couldn’t have even imagined would be in the game. I can’t wait, it’s going to be so much fun
