i’ve been wanting this one username, but it is taken by someone who has been inactive for likely even over a decade. they have zero games, zero anything and i really want the username. does Sony/Playstation allow requests for usernames and inactive accounts to be taken?

Some context: About a month and a half ago, I reconnected with an old friend on Playstation who I had previously cut off a couple years prior. The night we reconnected, in the Playstation party chat, he verbally gave me his debit card details to purchase both Playstation Plus and the video game Stranded Deep. Only a few nights later I was reminded why I cut him off: the guy is racist, sexist, homophobic, and an all around bad person, no matter how nice he seems on the surface. Anyways I cut him off again about a month ago, and then last night I get an email saying my Playstation account has been suspended due to chageback, and sure enough, after digging through my emails, it's the same amount that the three months of Playstation Plus costed. Now I already submitted an appeal, but I'm worried that's not going to do anything. Should the appeal not work, what do I do? How do I repay the amount if I can't sign into Playstation? I know this is completely my fault for trusting someone like him, and chances are he's probably well within his legal right to request the chargeback and get his money back, but if there's any chance I can get my account back, I'd love to know how.

I need to rant to someone because I cannot believe how ridiculous this situation is. I am unbelievably angry and it is absolutely rotten.

Today, I wanted to share a video clip from FH5, when i realised I needed to verify my age... No problem I thought. When I went to log on, I realised I had my 2F authenticator set up, now I have recently gotten a new mobile because my old one broke. I have already had a nightmare at work due to this and authenticators so my heart instantly sank. Same old usual story, in order to change my 2FA, I have to log on and to log on I have to use my 2FA. I was logged into my PS5 at the time and couldn't change it from there without also using 2FA. So, I go online with the virtual chat bot who sends me a link to 'reset my password', I assumed this was to reset my 2FA as that is clearly what I wrote in the message. So i change my password and it has made no difference, in fact NOW I AM LOGGED OUT OF MY PLAYSTATION ACCOUNT AND CAN NO LONGER ACCESS THAT WITHOUT 2FA. I ask the AI to connect me to a live agent, guess what... IT NEEDS ME TO LOG ON TO VERIFY ME BEFORE IT WILL CONNECT ME. I go on the phone and go through the numbers to get to account unlock, it tells me to use the AI chat and hangs up. I am now sat in a queue for hardware enquiries only as it is the only way I can apparently even attempt to speak to a person (30 minutes and pending).

I know people are going to reference the back up codes, but you had to click a link to access this which I never did, it wasn't as if they were sent automatically. How can we be in a situation where because I lose my authenticator device, which I imagine is a fairly frequent occurence for people, I literally CANNOT ACCESS THE SERVICES I AM PAYING FOR.

I AM ABSOLUTELY SEETHING WITH HOW STUPID OF AN OVERSIGHT THIS IS, IT IS ALMOST COMICAL.

To make long story short, my account was hacked 4 years ago there was a charge roughly around this amount. It was supposedly handled through PSN and credited back to my credit card and my credit card blocked all charges from PSN seeing as I didn’t use the account often I figured this was OK. Fast forward 4 years later and here I am with a suspended account that was obviously hacked and now Sony is telling me I can have my account back for $400 that I didn’t spend. They won’t even remove my personal information from the account that is hacked. Excuse my grammar this just pisses me off because now I can’t play GTA6 or the BO rerelease with friends because of a hacker from 4 or 5 years ago. I tried talking to support and the guy basically said there’s nothing you can do unless you pay this account. Like I can’t even remove card information or personal information. How is this even fair. And what am I to do? I am tempted to create another account and lose my stuff but I don’t want to do that and then get banned again because they track it back or something.

I’m trying to buy black ops and I’ve tried restarting my PlayStation, no matter what it pops up this this error screen. Is anyone experiencing this issue and is there a way to fix it?

After reaching support during working hours, and verifying details on the account, the agent reinstated my account.
as for the suspension reason: "Moderation Team detected unusual activity, which resulted in the account being suspended. this was done as a security measure."

I think the wording needs to be better clarified in this situation.

I did have a payment get declined but there was no outstanding amount owed to PSN, a payment simply didn't go through cause this is how it is with the bank I use, they're paranoid of letting payment go through sometimes even after 3D verifying a payment through their app and often I need to contact the bank and confirm I did initiate the payment (annoying but also understandable)

I talked to customer service, could barely understand the guy but he found the profiles i wanted to get rid of, I'm from the US and made the account in the US but he said something about my account being handled by people in Australia for some reason, wanted me to do something else but i couldnt make sense of any of it and gave up, i'll probably call again but not what i was expecting

Hello, im getting this error message when trying to download battlefield Redsec only

- Tried Loging in and out

- Tried adding a second ls account to download

- Cleared cache

- Cant rebuild database on a game that's not downloaded

Need help, not sure if it matter but I had the full battlefield game before.

I forgot my password and got it wrong too many times but when i finally remembered it they told me the account was suspended . I tried to recover it via the 2-step verification but the code won’t reach me even though i have the same number i’ve been using since years . How can i talk to a real person to be able to clarify the situation and hopefully get my account back .

I’m 30 years old, but I refuse to scan my id too use a bloody voice chat. Good old Discord hasn’t been forced to do what the uk government says yet, but won’t be fair down the line.
