Q&A AMA, I was diagnosed for DID

Apparently the actual AMA reddit doesn't allow mental health talk. Go figure.

20 NB, tested 2 months ago and officially diagnosed 1 month ago. I was tested two separate times and was given an OSDD preliminary diagnosis by a place that did not specialize in dissociative disorders. It was corrected by a specialist later on.

Feel free to ask anything! Yes, even the questions you think I might find offensive. I have a VERY high tolerance level.

I don't like to know that yesterday (with some pieces of the memory gained thanks to the posts we made since I wasn't fronting), the bpd got bad that now I am here, without anything else to do.. At least she is taking care of the age regressors, but for now, I may get used to this full day of fronting, guess I'll miss my wings and outfit I usually wear ok the meanwhile 😔

Questions Headmates that don't speak the language that another headmate/the body might?

I've heard of, of course, cases where it seems the host speaks something like English but another headmate knows English and Spanish or something. I've also heard of, for example, maybe a Polish system where the host knows English and Polish but one headmate can only speak English. I think I heard of a system who speaks Japanese and English who has some headmates that only speak English or maybe only Japanese.

Most of my headmates form knowing English, and usually prefer to speak the language of whatever dub (we have a lot of fictives) they formed from. Our primary language is English, but we do know some Portuguese and Spanish. Therefore, many of the headmates, despite being Japanese and native Japanese speakers, also speak English. They also prefer English simply because we have next to no Japanese knowledge.

Craig/Gina (goes by two names), for example, speaks multiple languages. English, Spanish, Dutch, German and Portuguese. His native language is Spanish but he grew up in Germany and his mom is German, dad Cuban. Of course, with our slight Spanish knowledge, that's a huge preference of his, but we also speak English. He's known English since he was a little kid, though, and was born in the US. He also didn't form as a little or anything, so he always knew English in our system.

We can say our only example was Vee. Due to being native English speakers, Vee would be able to access our memories and learn quickly, but they formed speaking very broken English. This is kinda what they preferred simply because we barely speak Russian (their native language), but they of course learned quickly and speak pretty well now.,

If anything, I expect like a Spanish or Portuguese-speaking headmate who barely knows English if that happens, but even they'd probably quickly learn.

Vent Any other nonhuman alters get dysphoria?

I get such vivid phantom limb sensations, and then I suddenly remember that I don't actually have that kind of body and reality comes crashing down on me. Just in my feelings about the fact that I can literally feel my body, yet, when I look down or in the mirror, it's something completely different.

Horns, pawpads, my tail... none of them will ever be physically real. I've considered trying gear, but the whole concept just kind of leaves me feeling like it'll just remind me of what I don't have and make me more upset. -Milky

Questions Representations of plurality/DID etc in media

I will post here (I was attacked in other subs for even asking but this seemed more sensible sub)

I am writing a dark urban fantasy novel trilogy (prob not going to publish, but who knows?) and during the writing one of my characters has turned out clearly plural person, now that I look at their scenes in retrospect. Maybe because I am recovering from a relationship with one who was undiagnosed and it was... hard, to put it mildly. But yeah. I will keep writing them as such, because that's what I went through. No diagnoses on page etc. People who know about it or have it, will recognize the pattern though.

As I write further I'd like to avoid villanizing the whole group, get it right and multifaceted. So, I humbly ask you, what kind of representation of plurality/DID/OSDD etc in fiction you hate/like? What would you like to see/made clear in a character, villain or not?

Questions How do you know your headmates aren’t made up?

This might be a bit of a strange question but I’m genuinely struggling with this. I’m worried I’m trying to force people apart that aren’t actually different.

I know this might be an easy answer for many, but my thoughts all feel like they come from the same place (mainly because I almost never have the energy to question them, and I have very little intrinsic sense of identity).

Trend moment but we are majorly Transformers Heavy

39 known transformers fictives with plenty in suspected hell (they make up like a grand majority of our collective of 70+ known headmates), I just included the ones that actively engage in front.

The Courier (who guys either by Courier, Six or just Wyv/Gun) is our main host so we just had to add them.
