News This came in the mail today. MLGW is showing us how lucky we are to have them. Yes, they are a few $$$ cheaper, but a $300 bill is still huge!

Politics Protest @ Sam Cooper & E Parkway
There's a group of protesters on the park side of the three-way intersection. I was only able to see enough of their signs to think it's an anti-ICE/Trump protest.
There doesn't seem to be any slow down there and they are staying on the sidewalk.
So if that's your thing and you're around the area, maybe go by and show your support. Maybe make sure they have water.
If it's not your thing, drive by like nothings there. Otherwise, maybe make sure they have water.
Stay safe Memphis.

Farmer’s Markets
Does anyone know which of the farmers markets here in Memphis do and do not require their vendors to grow everything they sell here locally (or in the vicinity of Memphis)?
My rheumatologist was telling me that the Agricenter Farmers Market doesn’t require it, and now I’m questioning everything. I’ve reached out to them via fb to check.

Visitor Inquiry Visiting Memphis in January for wife’s 50th birthday, looking for suggestions
I know early January is probably not the best time to visit but that’s when she decided to be born. I am looking for fun and cool stuff to do around town. One caveat is that we have some physical limitations so we are not able to walk or stand a lot. Want to make her feel special. Appreciate your suggestions. TIA

Attention ghosts of late-19th century Evergreen Historic district: WHAT IS THIS??
There are a couple along the Greenline and between old houses along E. Parkway...what were they used for back in the day and why does MLGW think they're important enough not to demolish??

Filipino Spaghetti anyone?
I tried Kukuruku Chicken last night and the chicken tendies were really good, but tbh their spaghetti stole the show for me. I had never tried Filipino spaghetti before and it was so fire. Are there any other places in the city that have it on their menu and are worth trying?
Also general appreciation post for the Asian food in this city. I still can't get over how good Bonchon was and I'd get Boba Society's strawberry milk tea every day of my life if I could.

Wandering around in a week long extreme heat advisory...
I've witnessed an obscene amount of animal companion neglect/abuse... Very few things will push me to the extent of inserting myself into a strangers life... But seeing a fellow creature chained up outside... No shade... In the direct sunlight... Not a drop of water in reach... That's something I just can't get jiggy with... And will happily take the trespassing charge if it comes down to it... i.e., the “trespassing” was literally just me giving the animal my last bottled water...

Looking for friends…last time posting this!
I just really want some kind of a social life because I don’t really have one.I have social anxiety so going out and meeting people on my own is not my thing at this point.Outside of my boyfriend, I’m pretty much a loner and really want to carve out my own life separate from him.I’m 33M and bisexual.I’m a geek so I’m into video games and anime. Some of my favorites are Naruto and Kingdom Hearts.I love music and I listen to mostly Rap, R&B, and anything adjacent to that.Kendrick Lamar, Steve Lacy, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, and The Weeknd are some of my favorites.I enjoy going out to eat and smoking hookah.I’m pretty open minded so I’ll be down to do just about anything.I just want some lifelong friendships with some kind people.Hit me up if you’re interest please! I don’t discriminate either so all are welcome! I’m not looking for any romance either just strictly friendship!

Citizen Inquiry Mold Remediation?
My dishwasher was leaking for an unknown length of time. Home Warranty just sent the guy out to fix it today. When he pulled the dishwasher out, there was a lot of gnarly mold. Who do you recommend to come check it out? Home warranty doesn’t do mold.

Looking for a good ophthalmologist in area, any recommendations?
A few years ago I had LASIK surgery that didn't go as well as hoped. Ever since, I've been a patient at Toyos Clinic, but the doctor I liked working with has since left, and the experience hasn't been the same since. I'm looking to find a new doctor who is highly proficient in LASIK and post-LASIK care, and who can help me find contact lenses that work well for my eyes.

Citizen Inquiry Looking for carpet cleaning recommendations in Memphis for pet odors
Our older dog started having bladder issues a few months ago and had three or four accidents in the same area before we got it under control. I've used my home carpet cleaner a couple of times, and while the stain is mostly gone, there's still a faint smell every time you walk into the room.
Can anyone recommend a good carpet cleaning company in Memphis that's actually been able to get rid of pet odors?

Affordable Dental Care in Downtown Memphis
Hi everyone! I am a fourth year dental student at the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in downtown Memphis. I wanted to share that our school clinic provides comprehensive dental care at significantly reduced fees.
Services include cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, dentures, partials, implants and more.
If you or someone you know is in need of dental care at a reduced rate, the school can be a great option! Im happy to answer any questions about how appointments work, what to expect, and how to get scheduled.
Feel free to comment below or direct message me if you'd like more information.

Gripe Petland is the biggest dump in the Cordova area
I was at Home Depot and wandered into the Petland pet store that is across the lot. I know Petland uses puppy mills and I just went into to look. I would never give them a dime. Yet somehow they still failed to meet my incredibly low expectations
First, the puppies. They are all locked in glass enclosed cases. At least four had been there for over a month. Keep in mind that weeks 8-12 are key for a puppies development. Those four puppies spent those important weeks locked in a glass display case.
Second, the rabbits. There were rabbits in open top cases any kid could pick up and injure. They were distressed and it was obvious. The blaring music was probably the cause. They had the stereo turned up!
The store was filthy. The glass puppy cages were smudged and looked like they had not been cleaned in days. The cement floor looked liked it was painted in 1975 and then ignored for decades.
The product shelves were mostly empty. A wooden pallet was leaning against a shelf and that area of the store had poor lighting.
I could see the sink in the back room through an own door. It seemed to have a serious leak. They had plastic bins underneath that were filled with water. The faucet had a steady drip, really more of a small stream.
I knew Petland was a bad company. A Google search will give you more details on that. Yet somehow they were worse than I expected. Apparently the owner doesn’t even live here.
It shows.

Employment Part time job
I have my own business doing security cameras, home theater, networking. It’s gotten incredibly busy, and I need someone to help me.
Looking to hire a new helper as mine is moving away. He is here legally but ICE got his mom and he is going back to take care of her.
Anyway, I need to hire a new employee. It’s pulling Internet and audio cable with me. I don’t need them to know anything, but just be a hard worker and conscientious.
The jobs are always different and it can be “fun” especially on home theaters/studios to see it come together.
It’d be a 1099 job at $22 an hour to start.
I know there’s a tech out there that would jump ship to get in on the ground floor…. I would start a tech out at $25.
