I am working on the early research stage of R Project, a keycap project intended for an international audience. Before deciding on a design or selling anything, I would like to understand the practical needs that are often missed for UK keyboard users.

The survey asks about ANSI, ISO and other physical layouts, complete ISO-UK support, keyboard sizes, keycap profiles, materials, legend processes, possible future themes and acceptable pricing. Hello! I'm in the market for a new keyboard and there are a couple things im looking for to get my dream build. I would like input on what options are out there!

I would like to keep the cost under 250USD for a full sized keyboard. I would like it to be mechanical with removable keycaps, standard sized caps (none of the low profile stuff) and i want good build quality. I do a lot of gaming, but also work 5 days a week at my computer and want it to hold up. I LOVED my logitech G513 and would buy it again in a heartbeat if it were still being produced, but im not confident in the longevity of software to buy one at this point(since its discontinued)

Any recommendations? Is there a particular brand I should be considering?

I am a fan of "buy once, cry once" so I would consider something more pricey if its actually worth the cost

I received a Gamakay TK75-V2 for my bday a week ago, and have been using it for the past two days without issues, but today for whatever reason, the entire keyboard seems for be broken but only kind of. Whenever I click a key there is a chance the input simply doesnt register, or that the key will get stuck in a held down state even though the actual key is lifted. ive tried messing around with the software and havnt found out a way to fix it yet. (typing this on my old keyboard with an almost completely broken "d" key, and its jst generally old and worn down, hence the need for a new keyboard)

recently ive been playing games with my keyboard, and it just keeps, every few minutes, having these random bursts of input delay. idk how to describe it, but every few minutes it will randomly be so delayed and then snap back to normal. I normally use it with the dongle, but I've tried with wired too,o and it does the same thing. It really throws me off in games. I tried plugging it in on the case usbc port and on the motherboard port. It does it everywhere. I tried using a controller, and it's fine, though I can't use my pc. Someone, please help!! If it matters, I bought it refurbished, but I've had it for a year, and it only started doing this recently.

hello...new to keyboards and thought the TOFU65 would be a good start...

just received the board and am installing GMK Symbiote keycaps...all smooth until i have to install the LEFT SHIFT and FN...nothing in the set fits the SHIFT at all and the only thing that fits on the FN is a 1u FN, leaving a rightside gap of 1/8"...

is this common? my end for not confirming everything, but could someone familiar with the Tofu65 fill me in? thanks much...

I've been meaning to get a new keyboard for a while now. I kind of know what I want, however when I search "wired full gaming keyboard", I'm presented with only Bluetooth enabled keyboards.

At least the ones that I'm more interested in, end up being Bluetooth enabled. Is Bluetooth keyboards the norm now?

I mostly looking for just a wired one because low latency, and the Bluetooth unit does add some dollar value that a wired keyboard can avoid.

Even keyboards that I bought in the past are suddenly Bluetooth enabled. Does having an onboard Bluetooth affect latency while wired?

TLDR:

Is there a difference between a wired keyboard versus a keyboard with Bluetooth when wired in terms of latency?

Currently using a SS apex 7 tkl which is 3 years old. Has no issues whatsoever so far but I do hear that HE keyboards are nice to have and from someone that plays cs2 I feel like it would help a bit.
I still would have to use the SS engine regardless of these two keyboards I’m thinking of getting as I own a SS headset so if we are ignoring the engine shutouts I stick with wooting or SS?
I like the build on the apex 7 as it is made with a aluminum alloy and I heard the wooting uses plastic which might be a downgrade to me but I also heard wooting has a smoother feel compared to the apex pro gen 3. Not familiar with hot swapping so it doesn’t really apply to me but I plan on keeping it for a very long time so it might. Let me know what’s the best choice

seeing a lot of newer people worrying that they need a $300–400 board to enjoy the hobby.

I spent an hour tape modding and lubing a cheap plastic board today and it ended up sounding way better than expected.

expensive boards are nice, but you really dont need one to have fun with the boards. sometimes messing around with a cheap board is the best part.

Still need some RGB to feel like a proper gaming setup. Finally got the Melgeek real81 on my desk. Starting to realize I like this kind of layout way more than 60/65%.

Feels like professional esports players don't use this layout anymore. Also, I think I still prefer this kind of layout. 60/65% boards are super clean and yeah, they leave you a lot of mouse space, but I always end up missing the function row or a few nav keys.

This 81-key layout feels like a better balance for me. Still compact, still good for gaming, but not too stripped down. Basically compact, but not annoying.

i kept lowering mine, but once I got down near the minimum it just felt twitchy. I ended up back around 0.15mm rt with roughly 1.0mm actuation. still fast, but I'm not getting random movement from barely touching the key.

curious where everyone else ended up after testing it properly. do most of you raise it again?

My Royal Kludge RK G68 which I bought 4 years ago, has now stopped registering some keys as well as the one entire row of the keyboard has irregular RGB (as shown)
The row where I have placed the keys is the one that has stopped registering key presses.
I have checked diodes using a multimeter and Diode D3 is failing which seems to be the issue with irregular RGB
but I cant seem to understand the key press issue
I would Like to know if I can get a replacement PCB or any other solution to my problem.

Swapped out the original case and keycaps for a new look. Cost around ~$60 for the keyboard, case, and keycaps. Lubed the stock switches and they sound amazing.

i just got this keyboard but i cant seem to change the LED lights because its greyed out and i just cant seem to make it work. the LCD screen software doesnt change as well.

edit: when i go to qmk.top it says no HID device found

I heard that it's quite good from hipyos Tech's review, but I also heard that the keyboard was altered without being announced, and that the quality dropped. What do you guys think about this keyboard?

The ones that i know are Ajazz or Aula (Epomaker). I know there are other for sure, but the names are giving me a hard time ngl.

I’m looking for some ideas for keycaps to give the WASD keys some contrast to the rest of the board. They are XDA profile. I was thinking about black with red or white lettering or even wood and maybe a wood spacebar to match.

My biggest problem is being able find XDA profile and matching font. I feel like it would look weird if they were in a different font. I have also considered blank keycaps.

Any ideas on what would make a good contrast?

I'm looking for a keyboard that's basically an Evo75 in a 60% layout (maybe 65% for the right board).

My wishlist:

• Hot-swappable 60% ANSI layout
• Aluminum or solid plastic case
• Reliable Tap-Hold support over both USB and wireless (Home Row Mods, Mod-Tap, Layer-Tap, Caps as Layer, etc.)
• Dual-/Tri-mode, VIA/VIAL compatible PCB
• Good battery life
• A creamy, satisfying sound signature out of the box, ideally without needing heavy modding

Nice to have

• Prebuilt or all-inclusive kit
• Per-key RGB configurable through VIA/VIAL
• Within €200 / $225 (I'd stretch the budget a little for the right board, but not into the $300+ range)

I've looked at some options and they're close, but not quite there.

• Neo60 Core has a wireless PCB without per key RGBA, but its firmware limited in wireless mode, which makes me hesitant since I need Home Row Mods and other Tap-Hold features.
• Tofu60 Redux V2 is another great option, but as far as I know, it doesn't offer a wireless PCB. It also seems like I'd need to do more work to get that smooth, creamy sound I'm after.
• LUMINKEY 60PRO is good option, but with their proprietary software it's pretty unusable.

If you know of any boards that fit this pretty closely, or even just capture most of what I'm after, I'd really appreciate the suggestions.
