Flight from Antigua to JFK yesterday.. was called up to the podium prior to departure because “it was a full flight” and they needed to check my carry-on because there’s not enough space.

I’m allowed one personal item and one carry on. If there’s not enough space on the aircraft for everyone to have that then please change your policy.

Also, please check out my “full flight with no overhead bin space”. This was after they closed the doors before we left. MULTIPLE empty seats and PLENTY of Overhead bin space for my bag. But no my bag was under the plane and I had to wait 30 minutes at baggage claim to get it, all the while trying not to get sick because I suffer from air sickness & altitude change migraines.

Never again JetBlue.

Was set to fly out JFK Saturday 7/18 around noon. Boarded plane before rain started. Rain began about 12:30 sat on tarmac for about 3 hours. Deplaned as they said need more fuel for alternate route to LAX. Waited in airport another 2 hours. Re planned and then once again sat for 3 hours, allegedly waiting in line for takeoff. Finally announced they timed out and needed to return to airport to find new crew. Sat in airport til 1 am, they announced no crew located. Flight was cancelled.
JetBlue desk was closed, stranded looking for flight. Kids slept on floor in airport. Also called 800 JetBlue waiting for call back. 10am Sunday found a flight to Houston with a United flight to LAX from Houston. JetBlue flight was delayed, waiting to find a crew. Missed Houston connection flight. Next flight was Monday morning from Houston to SFO connection to LAX on United. The Houston flight was delayed due to tarmac construction. Missed connection flight and booked on a later flight out of SFO. Finally arrived LAX 5pm Monday.

JetBlue eventually called on Sunday afternoon, before Houston flight. They said they would be willing to give me a refund for my cancelled flight. They offered no other monies or vouchers, because they said it was an act of nature, not their doing. Also said they would fly me out on next available, which was Tuesday afternoon.

There’s no place like Home…

I bought insurance to protect my trip and they didn't even give me a full refund when I had to cancel for one person because they are in heart failure, so why did I even buy it? Not to mention, they had a delay and didn't leave on time at all last Saturday when I flew home. I'm never booking with them again. Not to mention, the flight attendants on the way back were rude as hell and the captain mumbled and you could barely hear his updates. I'll just stick to delta for the next trip.

Had a pretty frustrating experience with B6 515 from JFK to SFO tonight.

The incoming aircraft was delayed, and it was clear from flight tracking that the scheduled departure time was impossible. However, JetBlue kept telling passengers to arrive for the original 8:59 PM departure and continued showing unrealistic updates.

The timeline:
Original departure: 8:59 PM

Even though the incoming flight was known to be delayed 3h since many hours earlier, JetBlue didn’t notify us of the delay until the boarding time for the original schedule to ensure maximum passenger discomfort.

JetBlue message: “Please arrive for your originally scheduled departure time. We are working hard to get this flight back on schedule.”

Incoming aircraft was still delayed/in the air.

Later updates moved the departure time to 11:45 PM.
I understand that weather, aircraft rotations, and operations are complicated. The delay itself is not what bothered me most. What was frustrating was the lack of transparency. Passengers could see the inbound aircraft status themselves, but JetBlue’s updates kept suggesting the original schedule might still happen.

Would much rather see something like:
“Your aircraft is delayed. Current estimate is X. We’ll update you when confirmed.”
Instead, it felt like passengers were kept in limbo until the last possible moment.

Has anyone else experienced this with JetBlue? Is this just how airlines handle inbound aircraft delays, or is there a better way to communicate these situations?

JetBlue, is the goal to maximize passenger suffering in the hope that one or two folks might upgrade and increase your revenue? Glad we have the free hand of the market moving us towards unnecessary suffering !

My flight from RDU-BOS Monday morning was canceled, originally was told it was weather, now I’m told it’s not and it was the airlines fault. Seems like a lot of people are in this boat. I ended up getting home about 10 hours later on a different airline that they booked me on.

Has anyone got any compensation other than meals, hotel, car? Sorry if this has already been answered I’m sure there may be a post about this already.

Looks like weather related cancellations, but they were not terribly helpful. I wasn’t automatically rebooked and I lost two days of travel. And the worst part seems to be weather has been fine, especially during proposed travel times.

Flight got cancelled today from 2:30 pm. Our friends fright from San Diego also JetBlue has been delayed. Our agent mentioned storms today around the Mass area. Reading all the recent threads looks kinda common today 😔.

First time JetBlue flyer...I chose to pay "blue" tier ticket price and just get assigned a seat, but on check in it told me there were no non-extra cost seats left, and made me pay an additional $80. I tried to skip this since I was ok with going random, but the pop up window made it seem like I had to. Is this true?

Or do I have to pay for any seat.

If anyone is looking for a teachable moment from the last week of wildfire smoke, storms, and operational meltdowns... Here it is:

BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE, don't cheap out on this. Make sure you get proper coverage for reimbursement of costs when your plans are changed by no fault of your own.

Flight cancelled? Book what you can to get there or home and file a claim for reimbursement.

Hotel deposit or non-refundable? File a claim for the unexpected charges to change or cancel.

Need a place to stay that isn't the airport seats? File a claim for your hotel costs.

Depending on your coverage, there are other reimbursed coverages. Please learn from this week and maybe it will save you a rant on Reddit posting in the future 🤷‍♂️

• Back to the old days of stale bagels from a rolling cart and stained carpets. Oh yeah - probably have to sit on the floor too. Don't let the "Art Deco classic style" fool you, that is just trying to perfume a pig.

• The deal allows JetBlue to add up to 12 daily roundtrips at LGA.

• Operations and new flights from Terminal A are expected to begin in 2027 (subject to court/regulatory approval).

• JetBlue has expressed interest in moving its operations to this historic terminal (it previously operated there years ago before shifting to Terminal B). 

• Terminal A is the smaller, Art Deco-style Marine Air Terminal with only about 6 gates. It offers fast security and a classic feel but is separate from the main terminals (a free shuttle connects them).

Note: This is not an immediate full relocation of all JetBlue flights—it's tied to the new slots and will roll out starting next year. JetBlue is still actively flying from Terminal B in the meantime. For the latest, check JetBlue’s website or the LGA airport site before traveling, as gate/terminal info can change.

JetBlue overbooked flight 266 from RSW to BOS today by 4 people. Rather than owning their mistake by bumping the 4 people they allowed to book on a sold-out flight, they are bumping the last 4 people who checked in to a flight two days from now. This makes no logical sense.

Allowing for passengers to overbook shouldn’t happen with today’s technology. Since JetBlue made a conscious effort to allow the overbooking, those who purchased last should be bumped. This is complete BS!!!

Wow Wow Wow Jetblue that’s 3 flights in under one month. How is that possible? I’m just one person and I saw a sea of people at the airports saying they have the same problems with JB. You have managed to mess up, take off late for no obvious reason, diverted and deplaned half a plane, rerouted the same plane with everyone’s luggage on, held the others captive until the three hour mark, not properly update your flight trackers to the proper city the plane landed, leaving unaccompanied minors and families still thinking the plane was in one city as scheduled when it reality it was in another an hour away. JetBlue and again you disssapoint delayed an international flight with no obvious reason or apology or time make up causing missed connection or JetBlue just wow cancelled after a ridiculous amount of time everyone waiting around ederly, disabled, families, babies, hungry and pushing the time back of departure hour to hour claiming weather but we all have eyes and have cellphones that can see a radar, then having staff continuously save face, feel frustrated themselves, have an awful day after day at work, lie about staff coming to the delayed flight flight time, only to cancel saying there are no crew at 1am, scrambling to find hotel accommodations in a city that was already sold out everywhere. Well I knew that was coming. You left your staff at the airport to fend for themselves against angry, frustrated travelers. Who would work for you under those circumstances? Just the higher ups I’m sure with the paycheck perks, salaries, stock and six figures. Why why why why would I keep giving JetBlue the benefit of the doubt and keep coming back to JetBlue. You have no business charging your prices or at all, if you can’t compete in the space properly with adequate and fair proper customer service, accountability, “offering compensation, making restitution, or remitting reimbursements!” resolving disputes that are agreeable and fair and the lack of communication. Beyond disheartening and disappointing! Mosaic might as well call them NoSaics, JetBlue more JetFlue.
Fake Fake Fake

For those of you who have purchased a second seat for yourself to have more space due to size, how has the check in process been for you on JetBlue? Is it easy to check in and get your second boarding pass? Trying to plan ahead as I’ve heard some airlines don’t actually make the process easy to work with when the time comes to check in and board the flight. I know it’s easy to book the additional seat but want to see what (if any) issues others may have had when it’s time to actually depart.

I bought JB tickets for a European vacation next month, long before the war in Iran broke out. I’m also seeing stories about long waits at customs due to the new bio recognition entry requirements.

I didn’t buy trip insurance at purchase, but I’m nervous about disruptions - we have several non-JB European flights.

1.) Is it too late to buy travel insurance?

2.) Should I buy it from JB/Allianz? Or are there better options?

3.) Will JB/Allianz cover the entire trip including the non-JB domestic flights?

While everyone was affected by the same weather and NE conditions. The recovery efforts in the operation speak for themselves. Keep in mind JetBlue has a quarter of the fleet size of AA/DL/UA/ and Southwest. Yet they are #1 in cancels and higher percentage wise for their amount of flights they fly per day. They’ve really dropped the ball on the handling of this mess.

Is it true that economy seats aren’t provided a hot meal on international flights? Only premium and first class?

hello im moving to another country in a few days and im bringing with me a checked bag and domestic carry on (2nd pic). i know jetblue allows you to also take a personal bag that can fit underneath the seat but im not sure how big this bag can be before they ask you to check it instead? the duffel bag will be pretty lightly packed as im only putting in the toilettries bag, my laptop, a folder map with my papers, my head pillow and a change of clothes since i have a connecting flight. im 100% sure it’ll fit underneath the seat as it deflates but i just want to ask in advance if anyone has boarded with a light duffel like me so i dont have to do the walk of shame when im there lol

So I guess it was some kind of massive failure of JB's system... -and not just weather.

The Air Line Pilots Association has issued a formal statement responding to JetBlue's scheduling system failures that disrupted operations this past weekend. Captain Wayne Scales, chairman of the JetBlue Master Executive Council at ALPA, said JetBlue canceled a significant portion of its schedule, including reducing operations at JFK Airport by half. Delays extended across JetBlue's entire network. According to Capt. Scales, ongoing outages in the company's scheduling system left Crew Scheduling effectively unreachable, with pilots experiencing hours-long hold times. Pilots and crew members were stranded at airports, and the company failed to provide overnight accommodations. Capt. Scales stated: "JetBlue management claims that they are working to stabilize the airline and build consumer trust only to have these systems collapse week after week, weather incident after weather incident." He called on JetBlue management to provide the necessary scheduling software, hotel accommodations for pilot rest, and resources to staff flights. ALPA represents more than 4,600 JetBlue pilots and more than 80,000 pilots total at 42 U.S. and Canadian airlines.

My wife has Flighty for her iPhone. I use Flightaware for Android but it lacks other information. Flighty app says our JetBlue flight is stuck at Logan airport because of airport traffic. Flightaware isn't showing that info.

I was recently approved for the credit card and since I had a JetBlue trip coming up, I saw that it was a no-brainer. Two days after receiving my card, the entire account got shut down for security reasons and I really had to jump through hoops to get that fixed. I was unable to use my card for over a month and was not even able to include anything from my trip on the card, unfortunately. This has all been resolved now, however, the timeline for the promotional spending is continuing nonetheless, and after speaking with a customer service representative, they waived my annual fee as compensation. I wasn’t thinking about this at the time, but the entire reason I opened this card was to get the promotional bonus points, one of the terms for this in addition to the spending amount is that you paid your annual fee in full. I did technically pay it, but then it got refunded to me as reparation. What are the chances that if I hit the spending amount I will still get my promotional bonus points? Had I known this could potentially make me ineligible I would’ve never agreed to waiving the fee. I would much rather put the 5K of spending on another card that would give me better point values if I’m not going to be getting the bonus.

My flight has a departure time of 6:30am this Saturday. My boyfriend and I will not have any luggage. My friends and family are giving me all different times. Wanted to hear other opinions.
