BIOS beeps 5 times and computer restarts.

Hello, i have a problem with my computer. I was using it yesterday as always without any problems. And today, i came back to it, switched on my power strip and then computer, and.. it gives me 5 beeps, shuts off and then turns on again, showing me the login window.

The motherboard constantly shows VGA yellow LED, so i've tried pulling out the graphics card, then putting it back - didn't helped.

Then updating the GPU drivers through Nvidia App - didn't helped.

Then tried restarting the CMOS through pressing the button on the MB - didn't work at all.

But computer works fine i guess, after it forces it's reboot, like... graphics works normally without any artifacts. The task manager shows the graphics card name and all.

I've built this PC 5 months ago and haven't had any issues until now.

What else can i try? I thought about updating the BIOS version but... i can't get into it. While i turn on the PC there's no GIGABYTE logo with "Press DEL" screen. The computer instantly beeps 5 times and reboots.

The Gigabyte Control Center app shows the available BIOS update, but i've heard that doing it this way isn't safe at all.

Please help me, cause i'm losing it right now. Is it safe to work on computer while it happens?

If it helps, there's my specs:

I7-14-700KF;
Gigabyte RTX5070 Windforce;
Gigabyte Z790 Eagle AX;
32GB DDR5 Viper RAM;
850W Gold Gigabyte power supply;
NZXT Kraken 280 water cooling.

EDIT: I don't know how or what's happening. But i've plugged the TV HDMI cable and computer starts up fine as it should. I guess that's time to change my display monitor. Or am i wrong?

Lian li sl infinity wireless fans under cpu_fan randomly decided one morning to ramp to 100% every boot after never doing it

My custom-built computer is around 4 days old. It has Lian Li UNI FAN SL Infinity Wireless fans and a Gigabyte B850 X Gaming WiFi 6E motherboard.
When I built it, I only had the 4-pin PWM connector from the fan setup plugged into the motherboard. I completely forgot to plug in the 2-pin SATA power connector. An AI told me this probably caused the fans to run in a sort of low-power mode for the first couple of days because they weren’t getting full power from SATA.
For the first couple of days, everything actually seemed fine. But then one morning, without me touching anything, I turned the PC on and the fans suddenly started ramping up to what sounded like 100%, then slowing back down repeatedly, almost like they were trying to spin at full speed but didn’t have enough power because the SATA cable wasn’t connected.
After I realized the SATA connector wasn’t plugged in, I connected it. Now the behavior is different. Instead of ramping up and down, the fans just sit at around 2300 RPM (or close to full speed) until Windows loads. As soon as Windows starts and L-Connect 3 loads my fan profile, they immediately drop back down to my normal fan curve.
I also tried changing all of the fan headers to PWM mode in the BIOS, but it seems like the fans completely ignore my BIOS fan settings unless I enable Motherboard RPM Sync in L-Connect 3.
What I’m really trying to figure out is what caused the sudden change in behavior before I ever plugged in the SATA cable. The 2-pin SATA connector stayed unplugged the entire night, I didn’t touch the computer, nothing was updated, and I didn’t change any BIOS settings. So why would the fans suddenly decide, “I’m going to start ramping to 100% now,” after working differently for the first couple of days?
Has anyone seen this before with the Lian Li SL Infinity Wireless fans or a Gigabyte motherboard? The part that’s confusing me is that the SATA power cable was unplugged the entire time. It behaved one way for two days, then one morning it started behaving differently before I ever plugged the SATA cable in. No updates happened.
Also, my BIOS is on F9.
Sorry for all the information. This is my first post! Thank you

Support 📥 Can I remove this M.2 standoff on my Gigabyte B850M DS3H ICE?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a Gigabyte B850M DS3H ICE motherboard, and I'm installing an M.2 NVMe SSD.

I noticed there is a metal M.2 standoff already installed on the motherboard (the one shown in the photo). My SSD reaches that position, but I don't have the small M.2 screw that secures it.

Can this metal standoff be unscrewed and moved with a screwdriver, or is it permanently attached to the motherboard?

I don't want to damage the motherboard by trying to remove it.

Thanks!

Support 📥 WiFi Support for the B550 Aorus Elite V2?

Recently, I had some problems with my Ethernet Cable and Input, where sometimes it does not recognize it and I have to restart my computer. If this ever becomes permanent and can't be fixed, I would like to have Wifi as an alternative so I don't get stranded one day with no LAN or Wifi Option.

However, I have no idea whether the regular B550 Aorus Elite V2 has Wi-Fi support, and if yes (or no), I have no idea on how to install this. I am also usually not the guy who opens his PC because of past fears and experiences that I screw something up and accidentally destroy my entire PC.

Support 📥 PC randomly restarting even with new power supply

About a week ago my pc just randomly restarted itself, no blue screen or anything just restarts like someone hit the reset button on the pc case and it hasn't stopped. restarts are random, sometimes in the bios, before windows can load or even after getting into windows. Sometimes it restarts itself over and over while trying to boot or loads into windows and works for a random amount of time then resets, loads windows then does it again and at times freezes trying to reboot (the error codes don't move and it doesn't respond to the power button so I have to switch off and on the psu) I figured the power supply was the issue so went and bought a new one but the problem still presist. Based on some of the error codes that it cycles through at random while trying to boot (15, b4, f2, 3E) it points to it potentially being a ram issue. While cycling through these codes the red light on the mobo switches constantly between the cpu and vram light then breifly moves to the vga then boot light when sucessfully booting. Managed to be able to stress test the cpu and ram for about 30mins today at the same time using prime95 and memtest and everything was fine then the random restart happened. Ran memtest on boot and no errors but got to test 10 where pc restarted(not sure if due to memtest or not) which makes me wonder if it is a ram issue. Checked temps with hwmonitor and all my temps are fine, nothing overheating when idle or being stress tested. I don't have ram I can test other than what's in the system, I've tried swapping them and using one at a time but same issue. I had brief issues with the ram I have now in the past where my pc wouldn't boot with one of the sticks and would throw an error beep but I wiped them off put it back and it worked fine for years. Any ideas what could be the problem

I've ruled out the GPU as it does this even with the GPU removed, same with ssd. Power supply also doesnt seem to be the issue as it still randomly restarts even with the new one.

Updating that I've also tried taking mobo out of the case, disconnecting power and reset button on the case from the mobo, plugging pc into different outlets in house and different surge protectors, disabling xmp profile and underclocking cpu

Motherboard - B550 Gigabyte Aorus Master

CPU - Ryzen 5950x

RAM - DDR4 ADATA (2 sticks)

Power supply - superflower 850w bronze

[Request] Can someone help modify my Gigabyte B650 UD AC BIOS to bypass the PBO lock?

Hi, I have a Gigabyte B650 UD AC. The BIOS shows PBO settings and lets me change/save them, but they do not actually apply. It looks like Gigabyte has locked PBO functionality somewhere.

Can someone with BIOS modding experience modify the BIOS to bypass this lock and make PBO settings work?

Does Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX support Resizable Bar ?

I'm building a brand new pc, and I plan on getting an Intel Arc B580. However, I've found that ReBAR (also Resizable Bar/SAM) needs to be enabled in order to even properly use the GPU. Does the Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX support Resizable Bar ? I haven't found anything about this on the Internet, and getting a motherboard that isn't even compatible with the B580 would be kinda dumb.

Support 📥 **GIGABYTE A520M K V2 Rev 1.2 not POSTing — No beep, no display, fans spin | RMA advice needed**

**My Specs:**

- Motherboard: GIGABYTE A520M K V2 Rev 1.2

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT

- RAM: 8GB x2 DDR4 3200MHz

- PSU: GIGABYTE GP550SS 550W

**The Problem:**

My PC powers on — fans spin, lights turn on — but there is absolutely no display output and no POST. I connected a POST speaker and there are zero beep codes. The board also has no EZ Debug LEDs so I can't tell where exactly it's failing.

**Troubleshooting I've Already Done:**

- Tested with single RAM stick in A2 slot

- Tried both RAM sticks individually

- Cleared CMOS

- Verified all power connectors (24-pin ATX + CPU) are fully seated

- Connected POST speaker — no beeps at all

- Plugged monitor directly into motherboard video output (using iGPU since 5600GT has integrated graphics)

- Stripped down to bare minimum — CPU, 1 RAM stick, no storage (also swapped another RAM, CPU is tested working)

**What I Need Help With:**

  1. Is there anything else I can try before doing an RMA?

  2. Gigabyte's RMA form is asking for a failure file but my PC can't even POST to generate one — has anyone dealt with this before? What did you submit instead?

  3. Anyone had experience with Gigabyte India RMA? How long did it take?

Any help is appreciated. Getting really frustrated at this point!

Support 📥 Can't update BIOS

I'm making this post since I have such a specific problem that I've not been able to find it anywhere else. I have B850 Eagle Wifi6e and I'm currently on the F5 BIOS version. Over recent times I played a lot of Battlefield 6 and unfortunately it just keeps crashing over and over. I've heard that the most likely culprit is an outdated BIOS version. Since mine is indeed pretty old I decided to update it to the newest non beta version which would be F10.

I've tried 3 different approaches:

  1. Going into BIOS and updating through QFlash
  2. Using EFI Shell and updating through flash.nsh like the BIOS guide says
  3. Using QFflash plus

For 1 and 2, the PC restarts itself and then just freezes on blackscreen. Keyboard, mouse and monitors act as if the PC is turned off, and the red CPU light on the motherboard is on. I've waited ~30 minutes and nothing changed, I eventually just turned the switch on my PSU (normal power button did nothing) and restarted the PC. I believe Secure Flash is saving my ass in these cases, but in the end I just boot up to my original BIOS version again as if nothing happened.
As for QFlash plus, turning my pc off, putting the USB stick in the right slot and pressing the QFlash plus button, the fans start spinning for ~1 second and then immediately turn off again and nothing happens. I can spot no light anywhere. Waiting several minutes also doesn't change anything, and I can turn on my PC as if nothing happened (again).

Honestly I have no Idea what I should do. I've heard that sometimes unplugging the GPU and only having one RAM stick in can help for QFlash plus, this is pretty much the only option I have in mind that could maybe work. Since only Battlefield is causing issues, I've obviously considered just leaving it be but I would really enjoy being able to play it again as it's the only game I'm playing with a certain friend these days.

Help With Gigabyte M27U Screen Flickering On HDMI Outputs

I have a Gigabyte M27U monitor I bought roughly 2 years ago that's started having screen flickering issues with the HDMI outputs I use for my PS5, Nintendo Switch and Elgato HD60X. The flickering appears as a light gray effect usually at the top of my monitor screen however I've had a couple instances where it's also effected the lower part too. It's often not that easy to notice unless the screen is very bright during day stages of some games or menus.
The flickering only effects these HDMI ports as the display port I use for my PC has so far remained fine. I've tried switching between every HDMI cord in the house to see if this fixes anything however the flickering remains. Strangely the flickering seems to stop on it's own at random intervals whenever I try different fixes so I don't know what's causing it or stopping it.
Did try recording a video but the effect doesn't pick up very well on my phone camera regardless I was hoping to find some answers here.

Gigabyte Aorus X870i really loud m.2 ssd fan at start up

Post image
4 Upvotes

I have a Gigabyte Aorus Ice X870i whose m.2 ssd fan is really loud. I have modified it in the BIOS to tone down the speed to 1900 RPM, previously it was 3000 RPM causing it to be loud even on idle. It's fine now on normal use.

However at start up, I think it still maxes the RPM before the BIOS settings load.

Any solution to this?

Black screen after enabling Secure Boot on Gigabyte H310M D2VX SI 2.0 (BIOS F13) — Clear CMOS didn't work

Hey everyone,

I ran into a major issue with my PC and need some advice.

I enabled Secure Boot in BIOS on my Gigabyte H310M D2VX SI 2.0 motherboard, which was running the older F13 BIOS version. Right after saving and restarting, my monitor stopped receiving any signal (black screen), and I can't access BIOS or boot into Windows anymore.

What I've already tried:
\* Clear CMOS / Battery removal: Removed the CR2032 battery for 20+ minutes and shorted the CLR_CMOS pins with a screwdriver while unplugged.
\* RAM Troubleshooting: Tried booting with a single stick of RAM in different slots to force a re-training/reset cycle.
\* Power drain: Unplugged the PSU and held the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
\* Connected via HDMI (I don't have a DisplayPort cable or spare parts to test with).

I know this is a known bug on older Gigabyte BIOS versions (like F13) where enabling Secure Boot switches to pure UEFI and soft-locks the board if the GPU VBIOS/display doesn't initialize properly.

Since the H310M D2VX SI 2.0 doesn't have a Q-Flash Plus button and I don't have spare hardware, is there any other trick to force a BIOS recovery, or is taking it to a local repair shop for a BIOS reflash via an external programmer my only option left?

Thanks in advance for any help!
