I went to gamestop for fun after my friend canceled on me, this guy was trading in this stuff to gamestop, and was scanning the last few things in, i asked him how much we was getting and he said 600, after i saw on the screen, i realized it was 600 in credit, and when i told him he asked how much it was cash, they told him 350. I immediately told him ill pay you what they were willing to give in credit for it, he agreed, after he said he would throw in pokemon Gold, and the target GBA for an extra 100, so i payed him 700. I think i did pretty well, and now my collection is like alot bigger than before. Already modded the DSI too šŸ˜‹ i hope i did as good as i think i did

Haul ā€œMetroid N64 Consoleā€

So I was hunting around for some 4 for $40 deals and went to a GameStop that I do not frequently visit. Found some games I didn’t have and/or needed. Nothing special.

As I normally do, asked if they had any retro stuff that was not on display or was in the drawers. Mentioned N64, SNES, NES as some examples of stuff I was interested in. They showed me some uninteresting N64 games that I passed on. The guy then says, ā€œWell would you be interested in a Metroid N64 console?ā€

Knowing damn well that such a thing didn’t exist, I was intrigued and said yes…

Dude brings out a BOXED Platinum Metroid Bonus Bundle GameCube. I asked to see what was in it and he opened it up. There were no inserts. I also asked if they happened to have the game separately for sale, but they did not. But he then proceeded to open the disc drive up and say, ā€œIt does comes with the boot up disc you need to use the console ā€ 😲 😬

Couldn’t pass up an insane find like this and grabbed it. Unbelievable!

The console and controller work and will need some cleaning and the box definitely has wear. I also didn’t notice until after getting home that they actually provided a PS2 component cable, not a Nintendo cable. I’ll live. LOL

Collection My quite humble Sega Mega Drive collection

Post image
24 Upvotes

Currently these are my only Sega Mega Drive games and thought that I must get more of them. The essential ones at least.

That Sonic 3 and Jewel Master are missing manuals and I like to get them plus cases and manuals for the loose ones, especially to Batman.

That Landstalker is the only one which has been with me since the 90s. 5 of those are missing those clips which you used to hang them in stores.

I've played all of them through and toughest of them all is Truxton in my opinion. Otherwise it would be Jungle Strike but there's a password system if the stage goes bad, so you can try it again and again until you succeed. The easiest of them is Batman.

Those SF II: Special Champion Edition stage musics are one of the best of SF II -games. That Yamaha YM2612 chip really is great.

SF II: SCE, Batman, NHL '94, SoR 1 and 2 are the games I still play every now and then.

I have Packapunch high-end SCART-cable with circuit board from Retro Gaming Cables to get better quality out of the console, though I'd like the HDMI equivalent of it from the same company but it costs a lot with customs and other fees.

Thought it was time I finally photographed!
All games are CIB - with all inserts and pamphlets etc.
Some of these games are from my childhood, but the majority of the collecting began in 2023.

Still have 5/6 on my list left to get 😁.

Usually this pawnshop only has common sports games but I found this gem today. They also had the Musashi sequel but the Manual was missing, I hear that game is not that good anyway.

Physical over Digital EVERYTIME

Wolfenstein $25 ( have both the first 2 Xbox One games so nice to be only one game away from completing the set)

.

Ghost Recon $10 ( Cause cheap and breaks the monotonous COD cycle I find myself in)

.

Dying Light $20 ( First game and all DLC plus the expansion)

Horizon 2 $40 ( Have 360 copy already but heard its buggy and incomplete)

.

Horizon 5 $59 ( Now own all Horizons playable on One X)

.

Black Ops 6 $9 ( Brand New JB Hifi online clearance) Purchased purely to sell once I beat Campain on Veteran as I have the PS4/5 Cross Gen steel book already.

Not a price evaluation, just listing them and the reason of what drove me to purchase said games

Collection Kirby’s Dream Land 3 and very rare Bandai plush set!

I’ve been going down a bit of a Kirby’s Dream Land 3 rabbit hole for a video I’m working on, and it led me to these wonderful (and extremely rare) Bandai plush set! Released in 1998, these Japanese-exclusive plushies came packaged with Ramune candy and retailed for 200 yen. They are also extremely cute. I am a huge Rick fan and this is my favorite Rick plush that’s ever been made.

The American marketing campaign for Kirby 3 was basically nonexistent. Outside of a couple of mentions towards the back of some Nintendo Power magazines, it was largely neglected. It was one the last SNES games published, releasing over a year after the N64 had launched, which explains why it wasn’t allocated a huge budget. However, the total lack of ANY promotional material (including but not limited to: commercials, store displays, print advertisements, merchandise) is extremely unusual for a premiere Nintendo IP of this quality. But more on that in my upcoming video.

No doubt due to its lack of promotion and unfortunate release date, Kirby 3 sold very badly. Now, it is one of the most expensive SNES games, and quite difficult to find in solid condition. This copy is complete and in excellent shape with the original cellophane still on it, showcasing its retail price of $45 in 1997. $93 adjusting for inflation! I have complicated thoughts on the game itself, but I do enjoy it quite a bit more than Dreamland 2. I really like the stylized colored pencil graphics. Muted pastels were underutilized in games at the time, and I think it achieves a very unique vibe that few other platformers were able to.
