Well after speaking to a super helpful nice gentleman that owns a local bookstore near me, he was sweet enough to call the distributor/printing company directly who told him they are no longer printing omnibus anymore. I’m not entirely certain if that only applies to that specific omnibus only or if that also applies to omnibus 1-3.. I figured I would update on my findings, so if you happen to stumble upon vol 4 in a nearby bookstore, new or used, I would snag. My hunt shall continue, thank you to all who helped and commented on my previous post. ((:

I’m late to the hype I’m aware and normally that’s what I prefer for the sake of things being spoiled before I can enjoy them, but I’m so incredibly upset that I cannot order this last manga to finish the series 🫠🫠🫠🫠 the closest I’m finding are eBay scalpers charging $70+ for a bent, stained copy. My heart hurts lol. Does anyone know how long in the past the back order for these manga took to reprint? From what I read this isn’t the first time Elfen Lied has been on back order .. but I also know back order can take anywhere from a few months to years.

Second time posting here after I made a first post of Lucy pictures few days ago. I wasn’t expecting such interaction with my post, each comment made me smile, so thank you, this really touched me, considering that I really did my best with only Lightroom and Procreate, without knowing anything about picture editing.
I said in my previous post that more photos were on the way, so here they are (+ some variations)
Drawing the vectors and making them look as realistic as I could, playing with multiple layers for the picture with the glass, and trying to draw realistic blood, were real challenges for me, and I’m kinda happy with the result.

I used google translate on the text, and it seems like there was a giveaway of a cup with this image? As well as a QUO card? Has anyone seen pictures of these items before?

Since I seen “What If in another series” posts so decided to do one of my own.

What if the Diclonius species existed in the MonsterVerse.

For set up:
*Diclonius will appear pre-2014/G-Day like around 2010's and Lucy will be around in that period.
*Diclonius are effected by Alpha Signals but will severely disorientate them due to clashing with DNA Voice’s commands.
*All of Elfen Lied characters including organizations will exist in this crossover universe.
*For Elfen Lied storyline it will be a hybrid of Anime & Manga timeline.
*Since the Diclonius came into existence naturally through mutation not manmade, so Godzilla won't wipe out and eliminate them though will intervene if they disturb the natural balance too much.

Shoot out what will happen?

For me I think Monarch will treat the Diclonius a billion times better by a long-shot after possible poor first impressions though.

First time ever posting on Reddit and still not really sure about how it works, but here I am. Took the pictures with my iPhone 13, edited with Lightroom & Procreate. (which I normally use for digital drawing only, it was my first attempt editing pictures with it and basically I just fiddled with all the options & buttons without knowing what I was doing nor where I was going lol)
Other pictures are on the making.

There is an archived, old website (http://www.vap.co.jp/elfenlied/index.html or directly via wayback machine), but the site after entering seems to have lost some content, like the gallery. I think I remember being able to see more on the archived site a few years ago, maybe I'm misremembering. Does anyone have any info as to why some content seems to be lost? (Maybe it has something to do with flash player?) Or does someone have a local backup of the site or another way to reach it?

Just finished The anime “Elfen Lied” !!

Elfen Lied feels less like an anime and more like finding a bloodstained music box in the attic of a house that should have been abandoned years ago. The opening intro is something u should never skip btw , it’s hauntingly beautiful. Everyone talks about the violence, but the real horror is how desperately every character wants to be loved, even after the world has taught them that love is usually followed by cruelty. The opening theme sounds like a prayer, and by the end it feels like a funeral hymn for childhood itself. What ruined my day wasn’t the gore ,it was the quiet moments: the way loneliness sits in the room like a second character, the way tenderness appears only long enough to remind you what has already been destroyed.

I'd finally made an archive of all the episodes of Elfen Lied (except OVA) shown in CRT resolution. I know no one wanted this 😅, but still I did it. You can watch this as it is uncommon. They are all TV rips which are subbed. I hope you can agree with it appreciate it. I took some work for it.

Nothing new, just my catharsis towards certain bullies they know.

For context: I vaguely remember watching the anime online when I was in middle school in like 2008 or something. I recently saw a list that said, "10 manga that aged poorly" and Elfen Lied was listed. Figured I'd give it a read since it's short.

Overall, it was good, I would have a hard time recommending it to someone though.

A lot of the scenes were overtly sexual or violent. The art was also pretty bad for a serialized manga - which the author addressed at the end of volume 8 I think - and it's actually crazy how much his art improved over the course of the series. I think the story starts to be less shock value and more of a story as it goes.

Calling the storytelling a rollercoaster isn't enough - it's more like getting punched in the face over and over. Lots of trauma. The second something seems to be going well it reverses. Even the quips back and forth between characters are like that.

Bando's redemption has to be one of my favorite parts of the story. I think he wrapped up all the loose ends the best he could considering the number of characters.

I could probably write out what I liked about each character but nah I don't have time for that right now. I think the manga and anime would have been more popular if it wasn't so extreme because the world and characters are interesting, but I also think the staying power as to why it's still talked about is because it's so extreme. I'm not an otaku by any means, but I have read all of Berserk, and Elfen Lied is honestly a harder read.

I see myself visiting the manga again? Probably not. But it was a good read overall. I might check out some of his other stuff, such as Brynhildr in the Darkness - curious about any recommendations people have.
