I’m pretty new to Duolingo, but I just completed a Friend Quest and it now seems to have started a Friend streak with my one friend on the app? I did not invite them and I did not accept anything. Reading online this is the only way a friend streak can start. Please help me understand 😭😭

I know it’s probably super obvious and maybe everyone does this, but lately I’ve been answering these after story writing tasks as close to how I would in real life as I can, as opposed to just giving the answer you think they expect.

It seems a lot better for learning as you’re actually using the language as you would in real life instead of just answering it like a homework question, and it’s a lot more fun.

Also, I really don’t like Oscar. If I knew how to say prick in Spanish I would have.

Bea, slow down! I just started Section 4 in Spanish and I gotta say, I'm not loving Bea's radio show. Other than recognizing a few words here and there, I have absolutely NO idea what's going on. I want "Aventuras Con Oscar". I always understand what he's saying.

Can anyone share their classroom code with me to get unlimited energy? I'm new to learning Japanese and the normal energy is just way to short.

is anyone else having the issue in the japanese course where if you tap certain phrases the audio completely breaks for a few minutes? It happens when the app groups certain words into long phrases and the doesn't know how to voice them.

I've reported it in the app and via email for months now and its making it pretty unusable.

I was at 27 score in Japanese and kept encountering stuff I didn’t know after the catch up course update review. So I restarted. I figured I’d do it without sound mostly to practice reading and writing. But in unit 2 I’ve encountered several words that were definitely not introduced in the lessons. To be clear I know them but only because I’ve taken Japanese classes, they were not taught in Unit 2.

Sugoi instead of kakkoi and that structure Falstaff is using (it just teaches like isha desu, not the kore wa). So I guess this is just a thing now?

Anybody else missing the English translations in their word list? Honestly starting to get seriously 🤬 off with the number of glitches in the Duo system. What on earth happened to quality control?!!!

so this happened, and i need to complete all these perfect lessons tonight instead of sunday. what's the deal??

It gives you the original 20minutes to play Oscar vs only 15minutes in a app. Also the old hearts energy system is there. Like stepping back in the time.

Anyway I am happy it now works since that means it works on my Chromebook and also works better on slow old tablet Lenovo M10 Plus since the app was lagging when showing legal moves when touching a chess piece.

Duolingo has added a lot more Adventures to the courses.

I noticed that there are now many more Adventures available for each section. These new Adventures give learners another way to practice vocabulary, listening, and understanding conversations in a more interactive way.

I really like this update because the Adventures make learning feel more varied and realistic. Instead of only doing regular lessons, you can now practice through different situations and challenges. It is a nice addition for people who want more variety while learning a language.

I hope Duolingo continues adding even more Adventures in the future and expands them to more courses and sections.

Hi Duolingo, I kindly request to bring back the 5 Chances system, because the 25 battery system that goes down even if questions are right and sessions are perfect is a very big interruption annoying many people and only lets you do about 3 lessons, so I hope you bring back the 5 chances system to have a smooth learning experience, thanks for listening 💕

i was about to do a lesson yesterday and i logged on to duolingo from my laptop and pressed "do lesson". it showed that i will gain 10XP for doing that lesson. just out of sheer curiosity, i also decided to log on through my phone and pressed on the same impending lesson and noticed that it offered 30XP. does anyone know why this happens?

funny thing is, i am on around 777 days streak, and if this XP discrepancy has always been a thing, then i might have missed out on several XPs because i usually like to do my lessons from my laptop.
