YAYYYYY!!!!!!

I know it’s probably super obvious and maybe everyone does this, but lately I’ve been answering these after story writing tasks as close to how I would in real life as I can, as opposed to just giving the answer you think they expect.

It seems a lot better for learning as you’re actually using the language as you would in real life instead of just answering it like a homework question, and it’s a lot more fun.

Also, I really don’t like Oscar. If I knew how to say prick in Spanish I would have.

If I'm being honest, I've been mindlessly doing a Greek lesson every night for about 2.5 years and eventually reached here. Still pretty cool though, even if I'm still not that good at Greek yet. 😁✌️

I reached Italian score 64 recently but I guess the app got confused and thought I reached German score 64😂 I

Basically, if you look up a word, you’ll have to redo the sentence. It’s so good cuz oftentimes the app accidentally throws in a new word without marking it as new or I forget a word, and with this I’ll now finally be able to practice such words without saving them somewhere else or something. I also really like the new word popup animations that they added (basically, if there is a new word, a purple flashcard with it will appear and introduce it quickly)

Saw this study that used brain scans to build an aging clock and tested it across tens of thousands of people. Bilingual brains looked about six years younger than monolingual ones, trilingual closer to seven, and people speaking four languages showed something like thirteen years younger.

Researchers did note lifestyle and social engagement probably play a role too. Still a fun thing to think about next time Duo is yelling at you about a missed lesson.
