Managed to snag an extreme deal for these two first prints. I also was handed down my dad’s old comics which had 3 and 4 in first print so collection complete!

I (23M) had a few comics growing up and after graduating college I needed a hobby, so I took up golf and reading comic books. Here’s the first picture I took of my shelf around a year ago, and what it’s looking like today! I have a list of comics I want, but if anyone has any recs let me know!

Story time:

It is the year 1982. My mom starts me a comic book subscription that started with The Amazing Spider-Man #230 and Incredible Hulk #272. I am a very happy child.

Due to multiple reasons (it was the 80's after all, no internet, no email, checks for subscriptons were sent by snail mail, etc) my subscription stopped at #237 and did not resume until issue #241 and again stopping at issue #248 and starting up again at issue #255.

Can you guess which 2 monumental issues that were missed due to this situation?

That is correct! The Amazing Spider-Man #238 (First Hobgoblin) and issue #252 (First appearance of the black costume)!

Now, the good news. After 44 years and after winning an auction I am the proud owner of the Amazing Spider-Man #238 that has the Lakeside Tattooz and finally read an issue I should have gotten back in 1982.

Have any of you ever waited 44 years to read a storyline?

Marvel Legacy #699 corresponds to Captain America #699, published in May 2018 by Marvel Comics. It is part of the "Out of Time" storyline leading up to the massive milestone issue #700.

Bought this in a slab with a 6.5 grade. Cracked it open to read it and take some pictures. Did nothing to it. Sent it in for grading. Just got it back at a 7.5 😁

I have wanted to read this for a long time, and since I had lots of free time today I thought it would be fun to visit some local comic shops and try to put together the complete run from the dollar boxes. Five stores and dozens of dollar boxes later, I was able to find 51 out of 52 issues. The only issue I didn’t find in a dollar box was #11, so I went ahead and bought it for a few bucks out of the regular back issue boxes at the final shop I visited. I’m excited to start reading now!

Anti-Christine is a Kickstarter funded book

Needs a good online comic shop to order from. Sometimes my LCS doesn’t have some of the books I want on New Comic Book Day so I’m looking for a good shop to order those issues from online. Any good suggestions?

Was digging through the bins in my neighborhood and bought this on an impulsive whim. Opened it up when I got home to find a pleasant surprise 😀
