I was reading issue #34 of Vampress Carmilla and I’ve notice this art style looks a bit like the ai I see around. Now I don’t wanna jump to conclusions cause I love Shudder and Vampress Carmilla. But I can’t seem to find anything about the illustrator (Harold Robertson) can someone confirm or tell I’m wrong please?

Just picked this one up. It’s a crazy colorful cover! Notice a lot of these horror silver/Bronze Age comics always had kids in them with imminent danger at hand.

1970s satanic panic comic

Upvotes

When I was a child at a church member house gathering, late 70s, there was a comic left on a coffee table that "wasn't for kids."

Of course we looked. It was similar to a Chick tract but was regular comic sized. There was a frame where evil Satan worshiping teens are grinning and mocking from open the back of a van. They have stolen a puppy from crying children for satanic sacrifice. I need this comic.

I believed these things happened for a while. 😭😂

It Crawled From the Long Box Take At the Mountains of Madness, add equal parts The Abyss and The Descent, and you've got Sanctum.

I just finished this book and it was amazing. It's been a long time since I've felt such a feeling of dread and suspense from a comic but this one did it. Id highly reccomend it to anyone who enjoys the stories/movies mentioned above or anyone who's a fan of lovecraft or isolation horror. Really great stuff!

Comics and mags from an all day dig at shops and a convention.

Mad Monsters falls outside of comics but I had to include it.

Creepy 8 is a home run. Gray Morrow vampire cover is striking. Gene Colan does illustrations for one story.

Creepy 63 has Corben interiors and Wrightson interiors. The price was ok but I’ll have to hunt down a nicer copy.

Slowly working on Ice Cream Man when I can. I was at my next to last stop with my last $20.

Empty Man comic adaptation! Scooter and Huck Finn are not horror, but I collect non-horror covers featuring the Universal monsters. I had no idea those existed. Dark Horse Dracula adaptation too!

Gradually working on a Flinch set. Found issue 1 for $9 and then found it later in a dollar bin along with the others.

Same dollar bin yielded Zombie World and Dead World.

Another Weird War Tales I just picked up. This is issue #60 with an awesome cover with a dirigible or blimp on the cover with what appears to be UFO’s also. Looks to be set in WWI.

Here is #209 of HOM. The cover is classic and this issue is noted as being a Key issue because the Cover Art is from the Great Bernie Wrightson.

This is another awesome cover on The Witching Hour #41. This one truly personifies The Witch. This is what I thought Witches looked like as a kid on Halloween night trick or treating.

Super thrilled to fill in a few gaps I had in my runs on top of scoring both Wolfman Books. All in all a nice haul.
