Im newer in my journey but I’ve been pretty consistent on my calorie counting journey. I’m tracking my calories to stay in a deficit but making sure I get enough protein etc etc. I’ll occasionally have a sweet treat if it fits into my deficit but today was huge reality check for me when that sweet treat is a drink. I got boba today, green milk tea, only 30% sweet, with aloe jelly and mango popping boba. Now I knew this was gonna be at least 200-300 cals, but it was damn near 400! I like to eat small but frequent meals throughout the day so this was pushing what an actual meal would be for me with like zero protein and added sugar. It was very good though and I’m not upset about it! Just made me more aware of eating what fuels my body and keeps me full longer.
Anyone got any stories like this of the time they realized exactly how many cals were in something they so blissfully were unaware of prior?

Hello all! I had this Nordic fish soup as part of my dinner tonight. I only ate the white fish and broth (no salmon or potato). The broth definitely had some oil in it, which I could see on the top, but not much- it didn’t have a greasy mouthfeel. So sorry I don’t have a photo I took, but the bowl was small, about the size of a standard dessert plate. Any estimates would be appreciated! Thanks :)

Description is “steak served with steak sauce, olive chimichurri, and crispy shoestring potatoes”

The description is “A juicy 8oz beef patty topped with New York State cheddar, roasted tomato, and béarnaise, served with cheesy fries”. I believe it’s cheese powder on the fries and there’s a good amount of the cheese powder. (Excluding the beer)

been working out for 4 years now, i have a decent physique im 6’0 165 lbs, im having a major dilemma, so basically when i first started working out like 4 years ago i went from barely eating 1500 cals and weighing 130 to eating 4000 cals everyday and gyming, i was VERY LOCKED IN , work , home , gym, sleep repeat , but now im eating 4000 cals for the past 4 years consistently and my weight has not moved up , it goes down in fluctuation or stays 165, up the cals to 4200 and nothing , how can i reset my metabolism or something, i cant eat 4200 cals a day all the time, its been unsustainable, 5,6 meals a day, mass gainer shakes and shit food just to maintain weight, im thinking the quick jump from 1500 cals to 4000 cals and eating 4000 the past 4 years my body never knew normals cals and only experienced both extremes, is there any way to lower my maintenance cals, or at least reset them????

In this bowl is: brown basmati rice, grilled vegetables, chicken shawarm, banana peppers, jalepenos, carrots, corn, & tzatziki
the worker used one scoop for everything except for the rice which she used four. i ended up eating half of the entire bowl and left 3/4 of all the rice

post workout meal, i gave the sauce to my cousin but there's a little bit pooled at the bottom of the steamed veggies, that empty space is equal to the space where the rice is if that helps for reference 🤓
