Unsolved How can I rig a 2.5D face in this way?

Hello, I've been working on a 2.5D face for my models and I couldn't find a tutorial for the rigging method used in this video. I already have setup of a face that uses a shrink wrapped planes but I honestly have zero idea on how to rig it to behave similarly to the example in the video.

Solved Best way to join these two meshes for rigging?

I am working on a simple Lego figure that I eventually want to rig. However, I am stuck on how to connect these two shapes together.

I also need to connect the torso to the legs later on, but since that is a similar shape/problem, solving this first issue will probably help me fix that too.

How do I merge these parts while keeping the topology clean? Do they absolutely need to be joined into a single mesh for a proper rig, or is there a better way?

(the last picture is my reference)

Note : I'm not a complete beginner, but definitely still learning.

Unsolved How do i clean this topology up, from 3 to 2?

So, the problem is that im trying to redirect this one edge loop so that it is quads only, but by myself i only end up with triangles.

I AM using a subd(1), and its visible when you apply it, so how can i fix this so that it goes clean(QUADS ONLY) from 3 to 2?

I've never used Blender before, and I began by making a shape, then adding a face using the tool, then using extrude to move the inside inward but it's not even...

Unsolved Vertex on mirrored side moves unexpectedly, but I can’t select it

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I’m making a Blender model for a friend to use as their YouTube avatar.

The side shown in my screenshot is generated by a mirror modifier. While testing the model’s movement, I noticed that one vertex on the mirrored side moves incorrectly. The original side does not seem to have the same problem.

Because the affected vertex is on the generated mirrored side, I cannot select or edit it directly in Edit Mode.

What could cause only one mirrored vertex to move incorrectly, and how can I fix it without applying the Mirror Modifier?

I have attached a screen recording showing the problem and the selected area. I can also provide more information about the modifiers, rig, weight painting, or Blender version if needed.

Thanks for your help!

Solved How Do I Stop One Rig From Controlling Another. Rigify Blender 5.1

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Creating a project in which i have two characters rigged using rigify. Both characters have their own rigify rigs created however one rig is controlling the other rig? During the creation of the models I duplicated the torsos to save on modelling time and I believe this to be the cause of the issue but haven't found a way to fix it.

So far I have tried deleting duplicate weight paint groups and also just deleting both rig set ups and starting over but each time this problem persists. I've made quite a few projects now without this problem so I'm at a loss for what might be happening here.

Unsolved How would i make lineart only show on the inside of the model like this?

Im not entirely sure how to phrase it since i dont think ive seen it done in 3d before, but for what im making my model's going to be all black, so when it moves in front of itself i want there to be an outline around those parts, but not around the entire mesh. i originally designed my characters in 2d so i never really thought about how i would make them work in 3d, but now that im getting into it again im not sure how to do this if its possible the way i want it at all, thx

Unsolved Camera constrait problems

Upvotes

I'm using the "copy location" constraint on the camera, which set the cameras origin to the objects' origin which is fine, but when I click on the offset option nothing happens. I have the first input set to the object and the second one set to a vertex group with just the origin vertex of the object in it.

Unsolved How can I animate a pipe with a dynamic bevel?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello!
What I would like to accomplish is something like the image, a pipe that one end would stay fixed while the other would follow an empty and as it follows the empty, the bevel that curves the pipe changes accordingly.

I’ve tried using both bevel modifier and bevel geometry in a curve, but the bevel geometry just ignores the modifier.

I also thought about using a curve with a bevel modifier with a cylinder with a curve deform modifier, but just like the previous attempt, it ignores the bevel modifier from the curve

I would appreciate any suggestion for how to accomplish this!

Unsolved New to Blender, what is this problem called and how do I fix it?

I downloaded this model, but it's messed up, so I imported it into Blender to try and fix it. This is supposed to be a bathtub, but the vertices from the rim and the top edges are all going to that one point, completely covering the indentation. I watched a tutorial where a guy used loop cut to fix a problem like that, but it's not working here.

Not sure what i'm doing wrong but i cant get the points to sample the underlying cube's color.

Pic 1: My geonodes pointing to a textured cube, referencing the same image texture (no transform), color is coming though but it dosnt line up.

Pic 2: the effect i'm trying to achive (taken from: https://blenderartists.org/t/particles-in-geonodes-to-get-nearby-surface-texture-colour/1607527/8

Pic 3: My Geonodes with the point density cranked up to show the sampled color fully.

Does anyone know where i'm going wrong?

EDIT: ive realised its due to lack of geomatry on the cube, is there any way to get this effect without having a dense mesh?

Unsolved Issue: setting up the Cycles renderer

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I have a quick question about optimizing render times in Cycles. I'm working on a detailed interior room scene. It features glass with realistic reflections and volumetric fog to create those nice light rays coming through the room.

Right now, I'm trying to get my render times down to about 30 seconds to a minute per frame (ideally even less) without taking a massive hit in quality. I want to keep the final output looking sharp and clean.

What are the best settings or tricks to achieve this? I've attached screenshots of my current render and render settings below for reference. Thanks in advance!

I have noticed that that tables are taking a huge % of the statistics so I don't know if there's a way to reduce the ressources taken by them :

Unsolved How can I apply a bloom effect only to the moon?

I need two Bloom nodes and one Streaks node applied to the entire scene (BMW and reflections on the road), but only one Bloom node for the moon. I'm an absolute beginner in Blender and I decided to ask AI about this, and it told me to set up nodes like this, but it's still not what I wanted. Bloom is being applied to the entire scene, overlapping each other.

Help me please

Unsolved How to make 4c hair cards in blender

I'm new to hair cards, and I just downloaded the HairCardStudio addon. It doesn't seem to be able to create 4c hair, so I was wondering how or if I need to adjust or add something in Geometry Nodes? Or a video tutorial would really help, I don't see any on the topic.

Unsolved Mouse or tablet for using blender w wrist injuries?

I’ve been nervous about learning blender for a while, mostly because I don’t want to put an unnecessary amount of stress on my hands - as in, like how I was dragging manually w a mouse in video editing when there were apparently keyboard shortcuts.

For anyone who uses blender and has hand issues, what are your best recommendations?

Is a mouse the best way to go, or a digital tablet, or a secret third thing?

Just trying to mitigate extra wrist strain haha, thank you for any suggestions and have a nice day!
