Videos or podcast recommendations

I have to travel for the bar exam and have about a 6 hour drive. Any recommendations for bar prep videos or podcasts I can listen to on my drive?

Block 2 Themis. Is it actually the paper that was administered in 2021, or just samples that NCBE released that year?

Upvotes

I’m not freaking out, I’m just trying to understand how representative Block 2 is of the actual exam. I’ve scored 74 last three days on the 50-set MBEs, and then 60 on Block 2. What does this mean - that is simply my question. It’s confusing since Themis and UWorld are now integrated, and although UWorld questions are supposed to be more representative of the real thing, I have no idea which ones are UWorld or not.

Late game paranoia

Upvotes

Just wanna see if anyone can commiserate with me or if I’m completely nuts. For the last couple weeks I’ve been getting scores I’m happy with and that would put me in passing territory for the mbe. In the last couple days, though, I’ve convinced myself that I’m only getting questions right because I’ve seen them before due to the high volume I’ve done (~3000 since may 17) and I’ve also become worried that since I’m now mostly outlining instead of writing full essays due to burnout, I’ll completely forget how to apply facts to law on exam day.

Is anyone else feeling the same things/noticing similar concerns? Any passers with input to calm my nerves? At this point I just wanna take the exam already because I feel like the longer I wait the more knowledge I’ll lose even though I’m still filtering through MBEs and outlines in the days leading up

Any input welcome

BY YOUR GRACE A Prayer for Success from a Repeat Taker Candidate

BY YOUR GRACE

A Prayer for Success from a Repeat Taker Candidate

Oh Father who by your mere word created the earth and all things in it, only say the word, and my difficulties and failures in the study of bar topics and expression on the exam will be healed, making my success at the exam inevitable —by Your Grace. I trust that my work in memorizing the rules will flow onto the page at the exam ensuring success - by Your Grace. My gratitude is immense for the gifts you have given me to use to the best of my ability and for the inevitable success that I know is coming -- by Your Grace.

Bless my fellow bar exam takers that they too may receive Your blessing and recognize the issues, recall rules, apply knowledge, and conclude with a successful score to begin or continue their chosen careers.

IN THE NAME OF GOD ...........

Constitutional law

Upvotes

Am I the only one extremely confused with scrutiny?

For example, how there’s like 5 different versions of intermediate. I never know what to apply, especially first amendment issues.

Does anyone have a helpful way to remember?

And really any tips for con law in general bc I absolutely suck at

It also doesn’t help that different companies use different words!! Bugs me!

Past bar takers please give us your MEE white pill stories or advice.

Upvotes

I'm really struggling on MEE, basically I'll state the wrong answer based on my rules which misstates the actual rule. Or I'll state the right rule but apply it differently and thus end up at a terrible conclusion. I feel like I'm cooked because I've never had an MEE were I apply the correct rule properly without missing terribly in a different section. I need some advise and some white pilling

Can I pass with 3’s?

Upvotes

I’m coming to Reddit because Claude is convinced I will fail if I don’t get my MEEs to passing level.

I just took a NCBE PT multiple choice and I got a 85 and a 83, I did remember some of the questions but definitely not the majority.

Assuming I get an 80 on test day, will I likely clear a 270 with an average of 3 across the MPTs and MEEs?

How realistic is Themis' grading for the MEE?

Upvotes

I'm taking the bar this month and I feel like out of the three big testing areas (MBE/MPT/MEE) MEE's are my worst by far. The sample essays seem to derive the perfect rule with all of the minute details that I generally can't retain. Sometimes, I also just don't know whatever random rule I glossed over that would've substantially changed my answer.

I'm curious if a 6/6 essay essentially has to conform with a perfect sample answer; as I otherwise am stuck getting 3/4's. I'm not too concerned since I do decently on MBE and MPT but the MEE seems to unnecessarily penalize me because I do not exactly remember a billion random rules in subject areas when I could otherwise do the analysis without issue.

Dormant CC

Upvotes

I don’t think I’m able to memorize the structure for this shit to get through an MEE.

I think I can get by on MBE questions, but I just did an MEE entirely on the dormant commerce clause and it was so deflating.

Should I just move on?

Brain turned to mush - 70% to 50% MBE

Five days out and genuinely feel like my brain has stopped working. Today has been one of those days where every MBE practice question I touch feels like it goes wrong. I ended the day at around 50% over a mixed set (33 questions), and it’s completely destroyed my confidence. Just yesterday I scored 70% and I don’t know what happened.

I just feel like I’m not able to think and reason straight anymore. One of the issues is overthinking questions. For example, Criminal Procedure: straightforward Miranda question. Police arrested the suspect in his house pursuant to a valid arrest warrant, immediately interrogated him without Miranda warnings, and I somehow convinced myself the better answer to have his incriminating statement suppressed (question asked for “best” argument) was involuntariness because the police entered at 6 a.m. with guns drawn.

It’s like my brain is mush. I can’t reason properly anymore. And I abandon answers because I think “it can’t be that simple”. I can’t differentiate when something is a right answer or when there is something more being tested anymore.

Trying to figure out whether I should keep doing MBE questions or whether I’m just digging myself into a deeper hole psychologically.

Nightmare Florida Predictions

What is everyone’s worst-case scenario topics for both the essays and MCQ.

Mine: property (specifically mortgages), FL con law, and family law. On the multiple choice: BE 3&9

What topics are keeping you up at night? Misery loves company 😅

Stop counting yourself out before you even take the test

If I see one more person on here say they're 100% failing before they've even taken the test, I will lose my shit. Stop counting yourself out before you take the test. Everyone here is more than capable.

Give it your all on test day. Worst case, you gave it everything and you try again. Best case, you passed when you swore you wouldn't. Either way, keep faith and you won't have to do this shit again.

Godspeed. You've got this.

What's the sub-topic you've given up on getting right?

For example, we are 5 days away, and I am not getting any more MBE questions right on deed deliverance (death escrow, conditions, etc) than I was two months ago. It seems like such a simple topic, but every time I think I have the answer, there was something I missed and the deed actually was or wasn't delivered. I'm not too worried if that were to come up on an MEE because I feel like I can bullshit my way to a conclusion, but in terms of MBE questions? I will be narrowing it down, going with my gut and moving on.

Bar prep has officially turned my brain into soup

Mine was the difference between present sense impression and excited utterance. I’ve gotten those questions right all week and today both answers looked fake lmaoo. I’m at that gross stage of prep where I’m not even sleepy my brain is just full. I can sit there and do another 30 questions but the explanations slide right off and then I buy another overpriced iced coffee and somehoww become more anxious without getting any smarter.

Please tell me bar prep has broken your brain too. What’s the dumbest thing you’ve done this week because of it (sadly)? ?And which subject is currently ruining your life?

NextGen PT advice?

In the beginning of studying I found the PTs to come fairly naturally and I was scoring better. But the last 3/4 of the course I consistently score around 50%on them, sometimes I do much better but sometimes I score even lower. I think my problem is organizing them—any tips? I often mess up the way the issues should be organized and I think that eats into my time and throws me off course a bit. My IQS scores are consistently high but my MCQ scores are average at best, so I can’t afford to be scoring so low on the PTs. Any advice is welcome!! I consider myself to be a good/fast writer and I don’t really know what’s happening

Plans after failing

So I’ve kind of come to terms that I’m going to fail . Anyone else ? If so , what are your plans afterwards?

My plans are to focus on music again . I have songs with pretty well known artist that I’ve been sitting on for years and I would just focus on promoting that and trying a creative career.

Let’s hear it

Kim Kardashian’s new energy drink commercial

At the end she says “No I didn’t pass the bar, I raised it.” Yikes. I kinda saw it coming that she would use studying for the bar as another cash grab. What does everyone think of it?

Supplemental or Aggregate - For the love of god

P1 (GA) v. D1 (SC)

P's Claim 1: Contract - $100k (Clear diversity)

P's Claim 2: Tortious Interference - 20k (same t/o)

Is claim 2 aggregated with claim 1 under DJ or does it come in under SuppJ?

Model essays

Seriously who are these people?? I can’t believe some (most) of these model essays. Either these people have photographic memory or they are extremely fast typers. Either way, I’m impressed. So impressed that I am doubting my own skills.

Those who thought they were gonna fail but passed pls lmk

Anyone else TWEAKING out over the fact that we have this stupid exam next week?? I’ve done 2,954 questions on adaptibar with an average of 58.6% (I started doing MCQ in May when I didn’t know shit so my average is also thx to that). I’m comfortable w MEEs like I’ll make up a rule if I have to and apply tf out of it. MPTs truly give me the heebeejeebies bc wtf?

But pls chime in if you thought u absolutely failed but passed and u ended up crying tears of joy. Still can’t believe the exam is next week
