Time maybe?

Always had long hair, but I noticed my hairline has gone way further back than the last time I saw it (y know, bangs and shit.) Losing hair in more than comfortable clumps in the shower all that. Bite the bullet?

Also if I do one last hurrah and put way to much gel might be able to do a decent Vegeta before going full Nappa 🤣

EDIT:I am not trying to mock anyone here or show off, it's been bothering me for a while and was looking for genuine input. I've always been a bit self conscious about how my hairs looked whether short or long and thought maybe just shaving it off would alleviate that self consciousness and was wanted input here.

Everyone is saying I am slowly balding, and that's fine, just wanted a council to rule is it time or should I wait 😁

I'm a woman contemplating going bald, how accurate is AI?

I'm a woman contemplating shaving my head and used AI to see how I would potentially look. Did anyone else do this before going for it and having it match? I'm all for it if it's close!

I’m starting to notice a bare spot in the back of my head by the crown. Granted I got stitches there when I was a kid but never noticed it before. Is this signs of hair loss in that area? Should I shave?

Stay sexy my fellowship

I (29m) have a healthy head of hair, have shaved my head 3 times for total of 3 years and loved every moment. I felt the aerodynamic shift, the feeling of water droplets on bare scalp, my girlfriend licking my head, the fast morning ready routine. Bless the Bald heads, the soon to be heads and everything strand between.
It’s been a pleasure seeing this community thrive in supporting one another! So much so, I send my dad posts every second day encouraging him to take to the razor, the ultimate reinvention, reincarnation.
Thank you!

Head Shavers

I think it’s time to take the plunge and shave my head for the first time. I’ve never owned a head shaver before, so I’m hoping for recommendations.

I’m looking for something that’s easy to use, gives a close shave, and isn’t a pain to clean or maintain. I’m open to spending a little more if it’s worth it and will last.

What would you recommend for a beginner?
Are there any brands or models I should avoid?

Bonus points if you wish you’d bought it when you first started shaving your head. - Thanks!

I've been fighting with hair loss for some time now due to hypogadism. We tried a hair system and trying to get everything blended and the upkeep seemed difficult. I may just cut another system and have hair when I want it with a clean shave under.

Hopefully this suits me. I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

Dry scalp

Do any of my fellow baldy bros have any recommendations for a dry scalp, which kind of moisturiser I can use on my head which won’t leave it looking shiny, and good to the skin. Noticed since shaving my head down I have a bit of dry scalpšŸ™ƒ

Should I moisturize with oil or lotion and how often? Once it gets stubble do I switch from one to the other? Also razor bumps on the back of my head/neck what is best for those?

AI Content Can we please agree to ban AI posts here?

1.5k Upvotes

I see there’s now an AI flair, but I saw my first ā€œthis is what AI says I’d look like baldā€ post in here today and I did not like it.

I believe these types of posts completely undermine the incredible power of this unique and wholesome subreddit. It dilutes the emotional payoff and confidence boost experienced by the risk-takers who make themselves vulnerable.

You post your photos, you ask the council, then you come back with before/after when you’re ready to take the leap of faith.

EDIT: I’m not talking about the memes. I’m talking about the ā€œthis is what AI thinks I’d look like baldā€ posts. Using tools to see yourself bald is whatever. I just don’t think AI versions of Reddit users belong here.

Even if you were obsessed/attached to your hair like i was, no feeling is worse than the endless push/pull of 'is it time'.

If you're feeling it, it's probably time.

You got this.

Unpopular Opinion: Buzz a #2ish first.

Will probably get downvoted but come in peace. The all or nothing approach (do nothing vs wet shave) is not for everyone. Some guys with only moderate balding, especially at the crown should consider a buzz cut first. There will still be a hairline to frame their face. Also, the shock value to you and others is more gradual. I’ve seen plenty of guys on here where a #1 or 2 buzz would be better than going to the bone.

Those who have hung on to the very end, definitely go for broke. But those with some hairline consider a buzz cut. I like the sandpaper feel of a buzzed head. At least on the part with hair. You can always go shorter and will likely find you prefer it when you do.

No judgement here, love the supportive vibes in this group. One of the better social media experiences out there.

Been bald before, lost all of my hormones because of a brain tumor a few years ago, so my hair dramatically thinned to the point where it had to go.
Probably spent a year total shiny bald, and longer than that buzzed very short.
I
Mostly back now (hair and hormones) , still pretty thin for a 20yo. Just got my first actual hair cut in 5 years.

What’s the verdict? Should I take the plunge again?
