I(27F) have two older siblings. My oldest sister (31) has 2 kids, a cat, and a dog and my middle sister (30) has 3 kids, 2 cats, a dog and a bird. I have 2 cats lol

My middle sister and her fam, my parents, and I all live within the same small town while my oldest sister lives 2 hours away.

My middle sister gets a lot of support from me and my parents because she is local. I see her and my nieces almost every day. Whereas, I see my oldest sister about 1-2 times a month. When her kids were first born and I was a student I would constantly make trips up because I had the extra time. I would drive her and her kids to appointments and go to check-in. My parents and sister didn't visit a lot due to COVID and my middle sister needing a lot of support. My parents felt that since we're all here it would be easier for them to come this way more often. And my parents do make the occasional trip up to her as well.

My oldest sister always makes comments about ppl not visiting and how my parents favor their other grandchildren. She also makes the argument that it would be easier for ppl to go to her because her son has level three autism and can get easily overstimulated around ppl.

She's always making posts about "I won't tell my kids about you if you don't visit", "you're responsible for having a relationship with my kids", "I have no village" blah blah.

But honestly I kind of feel like that's bullshit. I think the parent is equally responsible for ensuring their kids have relationships with their loved ones cuz kids don't know how to navigate that and if they don't, it's just putting it completely on the other person.

And as her sister if she wants a relationship with me, should it be equal? Or should I be the only one doing favors for her, going to visit, checking in because I don't have kids?

I think there's a difference between trying to accomodate someone and whatever this is.

Plus last time I went up to visit her my parents tagged along. I got my nephew a car he could build. The drill needed batteries and she started screaming at her husband where they were and took it away. This ruckus caused her son to get overstimulated and he started getting upset which made her angrier. She tried to open the drill up and she said that the screw was stripped and she told her son it was too bad and he wouldn't be able to play really coldly. My dad asked to see it to try and help and she flipped out at him. Then she beratted me saying "where did you get this? Binz? Value village?" Implying it was used and cheap. Rather, it was brand new - not that it would matter. My dad ended up taking the drill when she stormed off to cry in her bathroom and he said it wasn't stripped and got it to work. It was fucking awful and we all wanted to leave within that first ten mins. So I guess that's another reason we don't want to be trapped in her environment.

so im going to go to an event that requires my whooole grade to be there, just picking up books for the new year however my ex is gonna be there along with his parents, his mom HATES me. not because i did anything bad but because i just fucking existed. my parents dont know that we were ever a thing but they knew we were ”friends”. back to the point, i need to be unnoticeable and unrecognizable in case i do see him, just for 30 minutes. i need answers in a matter of a week or so. if they see me god knows what will happen i js know imma be in deep shit. Title: My Older Brother and I Both Experienced Sleep Paralysis on the Same Night, and I'm Still Shaken

I'm from Punjab, and our house is located right next to farmland. This happened at around 1:30 AM. There had been a power outage since 11 PM, and because of the mosquitoes, my older brother (27M) and I (20M) were sleeping inside the house.

While I was asleep, I suddenly got a strange paranormal feeling, and then I experienced sleep paralysis. It felt like I was sleeping, but at the same time I became aware that I was in sleep paralysis. I was completely frozen. I couldn't move, scream, or do anything at all.

But this is where things get really strange.

Even though my brother and I were actually sleeping inside the house, during the paralysis I saw myself lying outside on a traditional cot in our courtyard. Sitting beside me on a chair was a man whose body looked similar to my older brother's, but I couldn't see his face. He was holding a child's toy in his hand.

Whenever he gently shook the toy, my entire body would start trembling. Even though I was frozen, I could still control parts of the dream. Every time he moved the toy, it felt as if my whole body was vibrating.

At the same time, I felt something pass by the left side of my bed. It felt like a small animal moving past me. The moment I felt that, my goosebumps became even more intense.

I couldn't speak to the man because I was frozen, but within the dream I started moving my hands forcefully, trying to get his attention. Eventually he looked at me, gently tapped me on the head, and somehow it felt as if he freed me from the paralysis.

Now comes the most frightening part.

When I opened my eyes, I realized that my brother and I were actually still lying inside the house the entire time. But when I looked at my brother, he also appeared to be frozen, as if he was experiencing sleep paralysis himself.

I became extremely scared and started calling loudly for my mother. She was sleeping outside in the courtyard. When she came inside, she tried waking my brother up. It took around 4–5 attempts of calling his name and shaking him before he finally responded. The first thing he did after responding was ask for water.

At that point, I was genuinely terrified. I immediately came outside into the courtyard, and I still don't know how to explain what happened.

The biggest thing is that this wasn't the first time I've experienced sleep paralysis. Whenever it happens to me, the following 5–7 days are usually very frightening and mentally disturbing. However, this experience was different from all the others because it felt incredibly real. On top of that, seeing my brother apparently frozen at the exact same time made the whole situation even stranger.

Right now it's around 2:20 AM, and I'm lying outside in the courtyard writing this post. I'm writing everything down so I don't forget this experience and so I can share it with all of you. What happened to me tonight was one of the strangest and most frightening experiences I've ever had.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? More specifically, has anyone ever seen two people experience sleep paralysis on the same night? Was this just an unbelievable coincidence, or could there be another explanation?

Honestly, I'm still pretty shaken by all of it.

I'm 27 and never went to school. I make 135k as a garbage man but I know I can do more with my life. I know and I feel it. I work 12 hour shifts from 5 am to 5:30 pm. My thing is I get easily distracted and scroll social media including Reddit and instagram. By the time I get home I shower eat and scroll and go to sleep at 10. I've been saying for years "this year is my year" I'm 2 and half years away from 30 and I'm freaking out. I need to turn this ship around before it's too late. While yes I make good money but I work 65 hours a week not including my commute time. I don't have a gf. I still live at home if I continue working at this place my life will just go by and I'll be single and have zero hobbies in life. I want more but my brain is comfortable. My Soul is telling me I can do bigger and better things but my brain is telling me to stay where I am...

This is definitely semantic/philosophic, but if something is "green" that means that it reflects green wavelength light. Doesn't that mean the object is actually everything that it absorbed, and therefore not green?

The visuals coming out of the protests are deeply disturbing. Police were seen brutally beating students, including female students. Reports indicate that many protesters suffered serious injuries, including broken legs, fractured feet, and head injuries. There are also confirmed reports of sexual assault against female students during the crackdown.

These actions have sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about police conduct, human rights, and the treatment of peaceful protesters. What are your thoughts on the situation?

Since we are living through a rerise of ozempic being popular, I think we have trouble hitting a balance of pointing out the toxicity of these dangerous trends/standard and just straight up bashing people who seem to be going for these looks, and I’ve seen mostly women get targeted by the worst comments.

Disregarding well known figures like Ariana Grande or even Jenna Ortega, a lot of smaller creators and comedians have also sort of fallen into this group of people who will not say they are on weight loss drugs or gotten a procedure, but have very obviously had a huge physical change.
So how do we productively talk about this without starting a sort of witch hunt around these people?? I don’t think it’s wrong to ask questions or warn people about the use of drugs or surgeries just for the sake of The Look that’s in right now, but also how do people have any right in assuming these celebrities and public figures have actually undergone any treatments?

It's a bad year for mosquitoes and we are burning a fair number of mosquito coils, those green spirals which give off a thin stream of smoke which keeps the mossies away. The problem we're having is that we're short of the little metal stands on which to burn them and merely putting them down on a time pie plate or something just makes them go out. I have some galvanized steel mesh with 1/4" squares which would work, but am concerned the heat from the burning coil might free something which might be toxic. Thoughts, please?

Books change throughout the years, sometimes for good as offensive material is removed, but sometimes they revamp it and just take out a bunch of lovely descriptions that the original publication had. I am on Prozac which is notorious for killing libido. It works really well for me so coming off isn’t really an option for me as I’ve tried other meds but this works best for me. Whenever I enter a new relationship the sex drive is high but dies down a few months in, now I can go months without it but I want to want it, I just don’t know how.

I do dance but not structured well. I can give 4hrs of proper practice per day for a week, if required additional hours. I have to lock in for a signed up performance.

I have my eyes on a nerdy guy who’s kind of socially awkward, and I want to know how to approach him.
