I can’t believe we have a little over 45 of the new LLV’s just sitting on the lot for 2 years now (probably more I forgot). We have not been trained on them or anything but they keep promising we will use them soon. Fingers crossed we do!!!

77 year-old #GailGiustino allegedly collected feral cats along her postal route. After she reportedly refused to cooperate with animal control, deputies obtained a search warrant and discovered the home had no working air conditioning or ventilation, temperatures above 110 degrees, and floors covered in animal waste.
Officials said the woman had recently surrendered about 15 animals in an apparent attempt to reduce the number on the property before the search.
She was arrested and charged with animal cruelty and confinement of animals without sufficient exercise. Her bond was set at $50,000 The rescued animals are now being evaluated.

If you told me back in January I was going to be a mail man, I’d probably laugh. Here we are, foot in the door, ready to go on routes.

Life feels good. I quit drinking 10 months and 2 days ago. Life has been really rewarding in terms of having a clear path of where I want to be and how to get to it. Also, realizing the people I want and don’t want around me.

It’s been quite the journey to get in. I first applied and accepted a position in Dec 2025. In January 2026 I was deemed unsuitable due to a prior felony drug conviction (convicted dec 2018). However I appealed. I had a reference letter written by my old boss and also turned in all court documents from my conviction. In April 2026 after almost 100 days I got my unsuitability reversed. Fast forward to last week I finally got an offer and the offer was from the closest office to my house (2 miles).

I’m excited to finally get out of family events and no social life!

Been working as a RCA for about 3 years now and I really enjoy the job but I don’t get how upper management expects RCAs afford to survive. When I first started I caught on pretty quick basically all of the other subs at my office have a second job to help make ends meet because of the lack of hours. I have a second job I work at, and I’m usually able to still work my scheduled Saturday and any other coverage days if I have a small amount of notice.

Lately my acting postmaster has been coming down hard on us subs for having a second job and now we’re being told we are required to have full availability on both Sundays and Mondays, even if we aren’t needed.

Not really sure how much longer I’ll be able to stay with the company. The PO doesn’t guarantee me enough hours/pay to justify me staying at home hoping to be called in.

I’ve been a CCA for almost a year now. I truly love the job. I love being outside, I love meeting people, I’ve been having a great time. This is the first job I have ever had that I don’t dread walking into work. I’m great at it too. I love my coworkers. Truly happy. BUT but but, the schedule is making me reconsider all my options. I have been working till 8pm a lot of days. Only off 1 day a week. By the time I get home I just need to lay down. I have missed so many events with friends and family due to work. I have completely stopped working out because I don’t have the time or energy anymore. I’ve actually gained weight from this job and lost so much gym progress it’s making me sad. What are some other usps positions I could look into with maybe a more consistent schedule?? I was looking into CDL truck driving but I do not have my cdl. Can usps help with that? Also I think I’d have to work nights which I can’t do. Any other ideas???? I’m hoping if nothing else I can just wait it out and become regular and hopefully get somewhat more of a life & get back to the gym..

I’m 3 months in as a cca and I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made. This is by FAR the most challenging job I’ve ever had to learn and it’s so satisfying to see myself actually make progress and push forward. 3 months ago I could barely hold a stack of dps and now I’ve serviced thousands of houses across 6 routes at my office and have even helped a new cca learn the small route I learned on. It’s encouraging to see myself get just a little bit better every day!

So they’re doing attendance reviews at my office. I was told my attendance was unacceptable bc I had 4 days missed from 4/1-6/30. I know i only called in 3 times because I can go back and look at my screen shots. Apparently they are counting the actual number of days not occurrences. I’m also being told that if I clock in at 8:01am i am late. So my question is I thought call out go by occurrences not the actual amount of days you call out for, I also was under the impression that there was a 5 min grace period on clocking in. Was I just misinformed this whole time?

My route driver stopped delivering the mail to my road. It’s a dirt road and got stuck one time. My neighbors gets mail but driver stopped delivering to end of road. City won’t pave the road for whatever years in over ten years. What are my options? Driver told me i can put a box at the top of the road but that doesn’t seem secure.

I was hired as a CCA and completed the OJT. Unfortunately, I injured my knee and had to resign. When I met with my supervisor to sign the paperwork I brought up that I was shorted time in training in my paycheck which equals over 8 hours. This is on top of talking and emailing another supervisor about this issue. There is also travel expenses that need to be reimbursed and I gave her the appropriate form. She said it would be taken care of by next week, the following week at the latest. It has been 3 weeks and no answer to my two messages until this morning that said she'll let her boss know. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this? I have read horror stories that it took up to a year to get compensation. I am thinking of filing a complaint with the attorney general but only if they drag this out.

Just wanted to pass a thanks to all the info here. I've been trying to plan my escape from healthcare, and have seen garage assistant, maintenance mechanic and VMF clerk* positions open near me and figured its worth the shot to and leave healthcare now. I've taken the 943 and got a 77.3, 710 and got a 77.5, and yesterday the 955 and got 76.8, and have to say all the study prep and advice here was huge.

Now I'm just waiting to hear back on the spots (which seem like good places to be from the threads on here), and hopefully I get one of them. Work as a paramedic used to be enjoyable, but recently I'm burnt out beyond belief along with several of my friends and looking for stability and something way more chill to do as a career.

I am a cca and I recently put in my two week notice at my office. I have about a week of AL left and I wanted to know how to go about using some of it. Is it a bad idea to use 5 of them for my last days and say “see ya” early or are there going to be repercussions? Also if I use several every couple days won’t I also run into the issues of 2 call outs in 90 days? Will they just tell me to resign if I use them up? I wanted to use two this weekend to go to the beach finally but I’m just scared of the consequences they might try to throw at me in my last week. Will I make my life hell?

Hey everyone, so my first day of orientation is August 10 and pretty nervous to start I’ve never done this before but looking forward to it at the same time. Just want to know about the job in general and if anyone can answer me some questions and advice.
1) im hired as a PTF will i be getting a lot of OT ?
My office is in boston and its a decent sized office.
2) best way to get through and pass my probation period?
3) does health insurance start right away will they tell me that an orientation?
4) how does casing mail work? I’ve been watching videos on it so I’m a little familiar with it.
5) I got hired a 26 an hour. What will my top pay be & how many years does it take to get to it?
6) how does transferring work at the post office if I want to transfer from Boston down to Florida? Can I bid for a job down there or do I have to do some type of mutual swap?

Hey guys I just have a few things to say and wanted to see what you guys thought. I am a rural carrier non-career. I am running two routes a day most of the time. Is it fair that I’m being pushed to do another route everyday because I finish before everyone else? It seems every one doesn’t care about eval time and just works by the hour but I want to go HOME! Should I just give up on eval time and just be as slow as possible like everyone else? I hate working slow. Sometimes it works out great because I stay under 40 but it’s pretty stressful when I’m close. I even work through 1 hour lunch breaks to keep the eval.

Another thing. Shouldn’t I be paid eval time on the second route since I case and run the DPS? But I don’t take any spars or packages.

I don’t mind doing extra I understand it’s work and won’t be fair sometimes but it’s hard when I come back and everyone left and I’m always last to leave.

I carry mail in a small town. Days are never dull and I enjoy small towns but something feels off. And I think it's just where I am. I became a regular in November and I'm actually starting to think about moving to a bigger state with what I'd feel would be more to offer. Texas.

Hello all. I just got a job offer for a city carrier job. I have a question about the finger print submission. I am currently working and won’t be able to make an appointment to get my prints done at a location so I asked to be mailed the kit to send my self. But if I get out of work early and go to a post office can they still submit my prints?

Specifically looking from long beach to san diego. Have applied several times and have been dispositioned and I have checked 2 weeks in a row and see nothing at all for san diego county at all. Any ideas?
