I got spoiled that at some point Lana & Lex were gunna be together, it’s here (I’m on the last episode of Season 5)

And.. yuck lol. I can’t stand this, there first kiss, second kiss, third… I don’t think I’ve ever grimaced at a kissing scene before.

I am so ready for this to be over, and I know it’s gunna take a while.

Even the scenes they’re in together, at this point I’m over, and it just started lol.

I really liked him with Helen, and her being “evil” came out of nowhere.

I have been saying this already but I'm obv home for the holidays and I'm working on my TV script (I already have a cast willing, I just need a production company) and studying screenwriting on some of the most well written TV shows I've watched : Buffy The Vampire Slayer (& the incredible spin off Angel), The Sopranos, Gilmore Girls, Breaking Bad (& Better Call Saul), The Good Place, Veronica Mars, Freaks & Geeks, Mad Men, Six Feet Under, Fleabag. I think Smallville is going to fall into that category. The show is such a good combination of the 2000s teen genre culture and succeded in imprinting itself with the Buffy formula that was establishing itself at the time. The characterization is truly great (with some exception of course, like Lana's). Episodes like Memoria takes a great care in diving in the character's motivations and personas. To this very day, Smallville stays being one of the best superhero adaptations out there and one of the best TV can offer honestly. As someone who watched all the Arrowverse, a lot of them lost after two seasons what Smaville had, which is good writing with depth and heart.

I made a post one week ago about how disgusted I felt about that relationship. But I have to say… this is great drama 🤣

I feel like this is what was missing from season 5

I'm watching S9 and it just occurred to me: Chloe is the watchtower, superhero's assistant, but what do people like Lois think she's doing all day? Does everyone just think she's unemployed and unbothered?

Smallville | S06E22 "Phantom"

I'll tell you this for free. The CW really knows how to do season finales. I'm 54 now, and as you can gather, I've watched a LOT of TV in my time. Season finales and premieres are meant to be some of the biggest parts of any show, and Smallville has some of the absolute best I've ever seen.

I've seen all of Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and some of most of the rest of The CW's current lineup, and outside the first few season finales, they're seriously lacking in excitement, drama and downright super thrills.

I remember seeing Phantom when it aired, but I wasn't really invested in paying attention at that point in my life. This time?

Phantom was somethin' else, start to finish. We all know what happens, from Lana's decision to Chloe's reveal, from the formal appearance of J'onn J'onnz (one of my all-time favorite second string heroes) and of course, that truly BIZARRE ending, so let me just say this. Again.

It's inconceivable to me that The CW would forget the perfect formula that is Smallville. Even when things are at their campiest and silliest, they almost always provided us with spectacular episodes. Some of course are better than others, but in the entire run so far, only two or three episodes have been so bad as to get 5s from me.

It's inconceivable that they'd spend all that time and money making bad TV when they have Smallville to take their notes from.

And yes, both my favorite lines from this episode are attributed to Lana. She went HARD in this episode, telling both the men in her life exactly what she thought of them. It was positively awesome. Now I'm no dummy and besides, I HAVE seen the show before, so I know what's up, but what a way to go out!

Will there he a sequel or is it completely done and over?

Honestly I have a soft spot for every time Clark dates a girl-of-the-week who knows his secret. It's nice seeing him be fully open and comfortable with a girl, and Alicia was especially nice because it was the first time he dated a metahuman and also knew her secret in turn.

It was such a shame she turned out to be so completely unstable. I mean, I get full well that they could never be together long-term, but I wish the way they chose to restore status quo gave us a little more time with Alicia and Clark just being two wholesome superhuman sweethearts.

I mean, how cute is it that Alicia can teleport anything and anyone she wants, anywhere she wants, but on her date with Clark, she just wants to be a normal girl whose boyfriend drives her home?

I have not been on reddit a lot but I NEED to talk to someone about this, I initially always thought Lex Luthor was just "some bad guy" in the Superman universe. I'm watching Smallville for the first time and I'm on season 3...I think Lex's decent into becoming a villain is very valid, his dad and best friend are constantly gaslighting him and denying any real version of events he goes through, it would make anyone go a bit coo-coo banana's. Also he has grown up on conditional love from his father, he only gets acknowledgement when he bends to what Lionel wants or when he does something as equally morally wrong as his dad. His whole self worth is based on achievement and intellect, never loved for who he is as a person and only the outcomes he produces. I think at his core his main trait is obviously very fierce loyalty but when he learns this does not necessarily propel him into anything positive, that's when he starts to question his world view and go on the decline into madness. just a thought :)

I liked that Pete was back but I think they could’ve done a little more with him.

The writers couldn’t just have a line like “I didn’t update you on everything last week talked” instead of making it where Pete & Clark just never talk?

And I get he might be running around doing different jobs but I think there needed to be as scene where he tells Clark something else about his life. Tried a hobby, had a girlfriend etc …just to feel more like old buddies catching up on a few things.

Instead it was. Hi Clark, stretchy arms stretchy arms, heist, get beat up, see you later. It felt very weird. I don’t like the writing in this episode.

And someone explain to me why Clark is keeping Kara in the dark? They said because she’s hanging out with Lex but all they’d have to do is tell her the truth about who she is & then Lana could say “I was married to Lex, he hit me, manipulated me & is a monster”.

A bit disappointed that the show did this with Sam Jones’ return.

After watching Talkville and seeing Michael strongly aligns with Oliver's " for the greater good" philosophy, I see his point but I'm still undecided, cause this episode was an example of how making decisions for the greater good can still backfire. Oliver's plan didn't work the way it was supposed to, but Clark's method didn't either... So I get both sides, sacrificing something (or someone) in order to save many or to protect something bigger, but I also get that believing in the possibility of individuals being redeemable or saved is part of the best human qualities. So... who was right in this case? Neither? Both? Can't decide.. Maybe it was for the best it all went down as horribly as it did? 🤡

How did this guy get to places outside of the americas if he couldn't fly? It happened a lot of times where he went to europe and asia. In the last season he says super casual that there was a fire in Korea. How did he get there?? He couldn't fly and I don't think he was fast enough to run over the entire pacific or atlantic ocean

what I love the most about Smallville is that it took such an incredible man yk The Superman and really developed him as Clark Kent before developing him as Superman.

Since Hollywood is rebooting everything atm and Smallville seems to have gained popularity again, do you think the show will be rebooted once the new Superman movies gets cancelled?

Despite how overpowered the character is, why is it that he can easily lose his powers to something as small as kryptonite and a little electricity?

For such a small town the crime rate there was probably the worst crime rate in the country.. which would beg the question why would anyone want to live there? It’s worse than Chicago and New York City combined..

Does unsafe feel like the whole episode feels like it was written by some Christian family advocacy group. Between the virginity is sacred bs and the victim blaming by Martha the whole episode reaks of Politics Action Groups and the"soul of the country" propaganda from the early 00's

Is it possible the meteor shower in 1989 that brought Clark wasn’t the first one. I just watched the episode with Chrissy parker the girl with the ability to drain the age from her victims dating back to the 1920’s with no reasoning to how she got her powers and I have a theory. Later in the series we get the flashback episode of Jor-El sent to earth in the 60’s by his father for a sort of coming of age tradition and dax ur was also on earth originally experimenting with the effects meteor rocks had under the yellow sun meaning kryptonians had been coming to earth for a while. My theory is that either there was a meteor shower before 1989 that produced kryptonite that gave Chrissy her powers in the 20’s that was just never recorded due to not being as big as the 89 shower or being so long ago they didn’t see the need to record the event or maybe dax ur wasn’t the first scientist experimenting under the yellow sun with meteor rocks and either Chrissy got exposed to meteors or a not so friendly scientist performed an experiment on her giving her the abilities she had sort of how the kandorians experimented in season 9 trying to get their powers

Smallville | S06E21 "Prototype"

So Lex really and truly has, in the words of Sam and Dean Winchester, 'gone fully Darkside'. Everything he's done this season has come to full fruition, and the things he's done to get here are nothing short of actual war crimes.

The inciting incident that sparks this whole episode is fundamentally more violent than anything we've seen so far. Some of the episodes have been more gory and/or weird, but this one was surprisingly frank and stark.

Erica's scenes with Tahmoh are great. She shows a lot of real emotion here, and however impossible it may be, so does Tahmoh, even when he shouldn't be having any emotions at all. Like I said, I'm a fan.

Things resolve the way they resolve, but one of the coolest things is Martha Kent Goes To Washington.
