I'm a 28F from a tier-3 engineering college, and I've been working as a software engineer for the last 5 years. I currently earn around 18 LPA, so objectively I know I'm doing okay.

But I often feel like I'm lagging behind when I'm around people from IITs or people who are exceptionally smart.

It's not even about coding or academics. For example, my ex was from an IIT. Through him, I learned things I didn't even know existed, like writing resumes in LaTeX. The way he approached problems, learned new things, and thought about everyday topics felt very different from mine.

It's not just career-related either. Even the books, movies, TV series, or random topics they discuss often make me realize I've never even heard of them.

Sometimes it makes me wonder whether I'm simply not intelligent enough, or whether I just didn't work hard enough at the right time in life.

The confusing part is that when I interact with friends from backgrounds similar to mine, our way of thinking and approaching things feels much more alike. So I keep wondering if this difference is because of the environment these people grow up and study in, or if I'm just romanticizing IIT and putting it on a pedestal.

For those of you who've studied at IITs or have worked closely with IITians:

Is there really a different culture or atmosphere that shapes the way people think?

Or is this just confirmation bias because I've met a few impressive people?

If you've felt behind intellectually, how did you bridge that gap?

I'm genuinely open to criticism if you think I'm looking at this the wrong way. I just want to understand whether this feeling is real or mostly in my head.

I’m in a unique situation and would really appreciate some guidance from anyone who has experienced this or knows PW’s admission process.
I passed Class 12 in 2025.
I’m planning to join PW Vidyapeeth’s offline 2-year NEET classroom program (11th + 12th) targeting NEET 2028.
The admissions team confirmed that I can join this 2-year batch.
I also plan to appear for the PWSAT to get a scholarship.
My question is:
Since I’ll be studying the 11th + 12th course from the beginning, can I take the PWSAT based on the Class 10 syllabus instead of the dropper/Class 12 syllabus? Has anyone who already passed Class 12 been allowed to do this?
I’m looking for answers from people who have actually taken admission or confirmed this with PW. Please avoid guesses.

I am a 17 year old pcb student I have taken drop this year...my neet score was 350.I didn't study that well because I was an ISC student so..ncert books were not done well . I didn't fill the cuet exam therefore have to take a drop...to try one more time

Hey, i am soon going to start my first year, from how much i have researched, i got to know about the bad state of job markets and companies wanting to hire experienced individuals. I wanted to ask that, is getting an internship (unpaid) possible just after my 1st year if i have some good beginner level projects and good knowledge of basic skills? (I have already learned how to use git, and basics to intermediate level of python, javascript and just started to learn about APIs) Would really appreciate it if someone would recommend some great skills to build during my first year🙂

i mean..are you agreeing with the number of engineers used to require earlier will be minimal or will decrease coz of automation as people are saying earlier it is used to be 60-70 people require for a particular project or role in company will eventually decrease to 20-25 …

See like i want to tell what if you take other branches and you don't like it you can switch to cse whenever. But you cannot ho into core field. See in this Ai area where layoffs are happening and India is moving to a manufacturing sector in this era with increase in need of electrical and mechanical engineers in EV sector, renewable sector, India is setting up semiconductor plants.So i just graduated I don't know about the salaries but definitely it has a great future ahead. So don't go with the hype what others are there is always a game of demand and supply. See in cse supply is excessive and demand is limited so how do you think people would land a job in this situation think twice about your future and don't just go with the salary hype

I attended the off campus drive of cgi the hr told me u r selected and will contact u for the apprintice role it's been 14 days i have not got a call from any of them i am trying to contact the hr who sheduled my interview she is not picking any suggestions if I have been ghosted or any cgi apprintice have any idea how many days gradually it takes at cgi to receive the offer letter
