Unretrofied has been one of my favorite songs since I was 9 years old. You’ll never imagine my shock and surprise when I decided years later to look into the rest of Dillinger Escape Plan’s catalog.

Let me preface this by saying crowd killing is a part of hardcore, it belongs in hardcore, I’m in no way against crowd killing. That said, every show I go to the bands are always begging people to move forward and fill in the front. Therefore, can we please normalize not crowd killing the people in the 3-4 first rows right in front of the stage. Bands want sing alongs, they want crowd diving, they don’t want the horseshoe. Somehow crowds at terror shows inherently follow this rule and every show is amazing with tons of crowd divers. I just saw 100 demons and everyone was scared shitless to come up front which is such a shame because they have tons of sing along parts in their songs. People on the sides and back of the pit can see it coming and can defend themselves. If you’re in the front row you can’t see someone, like say the lead singer of missing link, coming to punch you in the back of the head. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Hey guys, I’m looking for modern metalcore similar to Contention, Temple Guard and Decadence. Bands that sound apocalyptic, world going up in flames vibes.
I also love Arkangel, Congress, All Out War, Sektor etc, but I‘m specifically looking for modern takes.

I was searching for a Nails sound for a long time, and they’re the first ones to really extend that. Lovely. What are your thoughts?

There's a post daily about "can we do this" or "let's normalize that." Who are you asking for permission? Hardcore Sky Daddy? Captain of the Throwdown Dance Team (IYKYK)?
Stop. Get some help.
You sound like a bunch of student council nerds trying to make all the perfect rules for hardcore. Ya corny and act like cops—which violates the rules in this sub, ackewulayy.
If you want your voices heard, make something. Start a band, book a show, make a zine, share a playlist you made of your favorite hardcore bands.

Here's another release from Butuan City', Philippines' Frontal Assault Records. Dbeat/crust punk newcomers OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS unleashes 4 tracks of pure and relentless fast punk. OCCUPATIONAL HAZARDS is TURNPIKE's (Cebu City) Bryle Tomilap's brainchild. It is not just a brainchild, but an anti-thesis to his routinary metallic hardcore songwriting. He seeks to go back to the drawing board and pay homage to where it all came from: raw, almost primitive, hardcore punk; a deliberate nod from the noise that brewed in the early '80s in the likes of The Stains, Angry Samoans, and Antidote, paired with the arcane crust punk movements of the early '90s (Disrupt/Siege/Nausea), all with the conclusive intent to stowaway from metallic hardcore and the hundreds of Y2K revivals going on right now and boldly introduce a forgotten page of the vast book that is our hardcore punk history.
The entire EP is an ode to the contemporary post-truth dystopian era, where truth is stripped off of its Websterian definition, and is now often described as one that is upheld and maintained by the many. Question everything.
This EP is Frontal Assault Records' 2nd EP release. Priding itself as the only underground punk/hardcore/metal label in the city, Frontal Assault aims to amplify its own exotic, unheard local scene, one release after another. Make sure to follow their page for future releases!
