Greetings and salutations!
To clarify what happened: It appears that the sub got locked due to inactivity, and is now back in business.
If you're using an app, or the old reddit - you've probably missed a button that sent a request to become an approved submitter (I know I missed it).
Now everything should be back to normal.
Please feel free to post, discuss, share and promote your own stuff.
If you have any community suggestions (i.e. activities, polls, initiatives, or anything really) I encourage one and all to try and improve this already great sub.
Have fun!

I remember for a minute there Dope Body was talked about like they could be one of the next big bands in the genre. I like a few of their albums but I remember thinking some of the vocals on this record sounded like James Hetfield. Just gnarly.

Awesome 1-off comeback gig from BAD GUYS.
More Tonka Trucks than you can shake a double-necked guitar at.

I feel like they’re a criminally underrated band. Like a sludgy Sonic Youth with songs tied together by spooky tape loops.

Wow. Just, wow. As a Slint, Squirrel Bait, and Steve Albini worshipper, I can’t believe I haven’t heard this until now!

Kilslug / Big Black / Yo La Tengo / Moving Targets compilation 7” along with Comic magazine.
Anyone know if this is rare or worth anything?
I’ve seen copies online of the 7” but never accompanied with the zine.

This just went out from BUÑUEL's bandcamp page:
---------------------------------------------------------
Hi Everybody,
It's Mark from SKiN GRAFT.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created by Eugene S. Robinson's wife Kasia to assist with his treatment as he recovers from a stroke that took place earlier this month.
Along with his work in the band BUÑUEL & OXBOW, Eugene is an author, journalist & podcaster. June, the producer of "The Eugene S. Robinson Show Stomper! has been graciously compiling information & sharing it over at their Substack. Initially June pieced together & laid out the harrowing details of what Eugene had gone through - from the time of the stroke & the days that followed until the time Eugene finally received care.
A new update has been posted & I'm happy to share that it is a positive, hopeful one.
June writes:
"Eugene has continued making real progress. He has written & said “I am Eugene.” He has been walking, eating, showering, brushing his teeth, practicing letters, & using music & singing to help him find words. He is now in a private hospital closer to home & Kasia is arranging the intensive speech, physical, fine-motor, and in-home support he will need during the next phase of his recovery. The progress is real. So is the work ahead".

From June's July 17th update:
"Eugene found two more phrases: “I can’t talk” & “I want to talk.” That same day, he listened to the newly mixed BUÑUEL record & then wrote & sent Xabier a short reply entirely on his own. The message was brief, but it made sense. He was communicating independently about music again - and for Eugene, that is no small thing."
While many things in this world are uncertain, I can assure you that you can count on more music from BUÑUEL. Thank you so much for your concern, assistance & help spreading the word.

When I had a few minutes to play guitar over the weekend, I picked this one out by ear.
I’m not sure if the Wipers are technically “noise rock,” but they’re certainly adjacent to the community and a big influence on some bands we all love. They made a few absolutely amazing and rocking records.
