Departures - In Colour
This is my favorite song by these guys and I don't see it talked about and can't find it live anywhere.
The lyrics "it's such a bitter taste" in the outro is so good. Hits so hard for me. Thoughts on this one? Anyone able to find a video of them playing it live?

Discussion Seattle Melodic Hardcore?
Hellooooo. I’ll be moving to Seattle from Boston later this year, and was just thinking that I should really get ingrained in music out there and see a bunch of shows. I’ve been enjoying melodic hardcore (but what even are genres anymore?) a lot since I was introduced to Departures a while back, and was looking for more music like this specifically. I’m not out there yet, but wanted to do a little research beforehand. In Massachusetts, I found it’s not very difficult to find hardcore music in general, in Boston, but especially out in Worcester. But only having been to Seattle like half a dozen times for work, it’s been difficult to try and get out to shows afterwards.
From what I’ve been able to gather online, it seems that Tacoma generally has a strong hardcore music scene, and that in Seattle proper, El Corazon is the venue to visit. Does this sound about right?
And while I’m at it, are there local Seattle/Tacoma/Washington State melodic bands that I should check out right now too?
Thanks!

Acres - The Tallest Of Mountains
Discovering Acres and the raw, cathartic energy of "The Tallest of Mountains" felt like finding a voice for the heavy emotions I couldn't put into words myself.
Their music became an absolute sanctuary during my darkest moments, teaching me that it is okay to feel deeply and that we don't have to carry our heaviest burdens alone.
The sheer vulnerability and passion they pour into every single note have inspired me to face my own mental obstacles with newfound courage and grace.
They showed me how to translate pain into something beautiful, completely shifting my perspective on healing and helping me grow into a stronger version of myself.
I am endlessly grateful for their art, because it didn't just soundtrack my struggle and it genuinely guided me through them to a better place. I hope they will help you the same or similar way they helped me.

Stick To Your Guns - Keep Planting Flowers
I don't know what you've endured
But I know life can be such an unbearable reward
So for those who've been truly devoured
Keep planting flowers
You were never invisible to me

For The Fallen Dreams - Smoke Signals
Love this song so much.
FTFD is my favorite band because they manage to capture the darker sides of the human condition so well and whatever bullshit life might throw at you: Survival with the weight on the world on your shoulders, perpetual stress, despair, betrayal, loneliness and depression, but somehow pushing through it all in the hopes of it one day getting better.
I feel they touch on very human experiences that are taboo because it's not something that you expect will be met with empathy, compassion and understanding. I find a lot of companionship in music but FTFD has really, really helped me. Ever grateful to these guys for that and for leading me down this melodic hardcore rabbit hole in the first place
This entire song is so relatable, but this part hits like a truck; I've definitely found myself on the receiving end of this part one too many times:
"How can someone feel like this is the end?
Don't hold your breath in my life
Tell yourself, but ask yourself, am I alright?
Sinking, flailing, and fighting for air
Doesn't mean you're alone
There is someone else out there who will pull you down
How can you live with yourself?
How can you live with yourself?
FUCK."
