I used to make straight builds as a kid. I eventually stopped cause I didn’t have the time/money to do them “right”. Well now I’m old and now I DO have the time and money to at least do a little better.

I’ve done about 22 builds in the past year. Here’s 11 of them in the order I remember doing them from oldest to newest.

Entry Grade Nu Gundam. This was my first time trying to cel shade gunpla, I had seen it done quite often before but most of them usually had a more exaggerated or complicated style of cel shading which was cool, but I wanted to try actually match the anime, so for this Nu Gundam, I really tried to replicate the shading and colors from the CCA movie. The kit was painted using Arrtx markers, and then I used some panel liner markers and gundam pour markers and a toothpick to do the outline, I wasn’t really good at the outlining part so the kit is a bit rough around the edges.

To sell the whole look, I then drew the effect on some card paper, trying to match how they looked in the movie, and stuck them onto the kit using some sticky tack for the photos. Background is just a blue piece of paper that I splattered stars on by smacking a white marker.

This was a short 3 day side project as a break from my HG Xi custom but honestly I might’ve liked doing this more.

This is the Star brand Guncannon, and I must say, this is an absolutely fantastic kit!

A huge sheet of water slide decals is included with this kit, and they are far better quality than I’ve gotten with more expensive kits.

I'm on my third entry grade wing set and I'm still not satisfied with the panel lining, I just don't get it, I panel lined my zeta in between matches of apex legends

I wasn't even really trying

But I just can't get good looking results despite putting in way more effort, aside from the scratches from rescribing the lines just don't look clean and I can't seem to avoid any kind of smudging

The parts snap so easily and cleanly I hardly need to clean up anything, the color separation is fantastic, and guys, the way they made the eyes POP without paint or stickers, just by clever use of gaps, is fantastic.

Just finished this kit (Awakening Super Soldier Gundam Kyrios GK Style). It was a very straightforward and smooth build. The joints are also very solid! The accompanied WSD were a bit brittle though. They are also going to release Dynames GK Style. Hope they complete the set.

I’m a little embarrassed to post this, since I keep seeing someone else posting their highly detailed, panel-lined & cell-shaded masterwork version of the same model, but that won’t stop me from being proud of my first ever build 😸- yes, I added the yellow decals to the boot armor after the fact & I am getting panel liner this weekend with a long-time friend who has been trying to get me into Gundam/Gunpla since 2001 ish.

Also, the original MS Gundam 0079, particularly Amuro, always annoyed the **** out of me, but CCA Amuro was kind of a bada$$, and was such a fitting conclusion to the Amuro/Char UC arc (I’ve been binging SO much Gundam over the past 2-3 months). So far, UC Timeline is my favorite, with Unicorn being my favorite thus far, followed by CCA & Requiem for Vengeance.

Anyway, thanks for the space allowing me to show off this rad new hobby that I immediately fell in love with - more builds to show off soon! 🔜 TM

W/ MG Gundam Age-1 Titus

After 2 days of building, and another 2 and a half for the decals, I've finally finished my Daban MG Electroplated Sazabi Ver Ka.

I painted all the gold and silver injection parts as they looked bad in contrast to the electeoplated red, and I also added gold to some other areas.

Overall the building experience was not that good. While I didn't really have any fitting issues, many parts just did not want to stay fully attached due to the electroplating, so I had to glue and cement quite a bit. A lot of flashing as well so the cleanup was annoying. This original sazabi ver ka was also not undergated, which meant I had to paint the nub marks as well.

Decaling, which I usually enjoy, was annoying as the smooth surface of the electroplating made the waterslides not adhere well, even with setter. Using metallic gold decals also probably didn't help.

Joints on this kit are very loose as well, even after using a joint strengthening pen. Doesn't help that this kit is pretty old with engineering from 2013.

After all that though, I would say it was worth the effort I put into it. It just looks glorious. Can't really pose it like the RG as this kit is allergic to its weapons, and to standing up straight. I tried to pose it with all its weapons but the hand just gives up without any support. This is definitely a kit I won't be touching from now on, gonna just keep it in this pose.

Working on my first fully airbrushed kit. I've done a bit of highlighting with a neon green on top of the lime green. I am currently putting the metal tubes on but I need to glue them so the leg ones don't sag like the pic. What colour should I go the shield on the right arm? It's going to be one of the existing colours. Like green like the primary, metallic green like the skirt, metallic grey like the inner frame, knees and chest or black like the backpack. What do you think would look better

I'm bad at painting, so i do all of my customisation through custom sticker placement and minor kitbashing.

Spent a whole week trying each suggested styles of weathering (do this and that). Ended up sticking with my own. Not the best, but I think I made him awesome in my newb little way. Now I only need the weapons to dry and finish the kit with a matte coat. Cheers everyone.

I saw a guy making it on X so I made it too but I modified the beam rifle to resemble one from aoz

So i bought myself the infamous mg cow and i can say the rumors were true there indeed a whole lot of extra pieces . I’d say there’s enough to make a whole mobile suit . Might go through them to see if i can make something out of them .

Both 1/144 scales, red frame was RG and other was custom painted.

But the reason spend a bit money on mini fog machine is to taking cooler pictures.

If RG keeps doing what they are doing right now, we might soon get kits like perfect strike 2.0 in the future that might surpass its PG counterpart. The amount of details I had the privilege to bring out in this kit was just incredible. This kit is so fucking peak.
