Completed 1/35 Maus. Things didnt go as planned

Hi everyone !

This 1/35 Maus with full interior kit from Trumpeter I can finally say (kinda) complete. I use mostly Ammo Atom paints with Tamiya Primer. There are lots of things I learn'd from this, as it is my first full interior kit.

  1. Ammo mig paints react with white spirit, which, I learn it too late and hard way

  2. Since it is a HUGE kit, I try to improve my weathering technique with learn to do sponge chipping, turns out the hardest part is resisting the urge to tap it excessively

  3. Notice the huge gap on the top section, its because I didnt plan it thoroughly on how to display it, since it is a full interior kit and I have limited space so I just left it that way to show it off

Sorry its way too long to put it here, so all in all, its a good kit, very oversimplified kit I may say, I didnt plan it to look very beaten up like that but remember good ol' Bob said, we dont make mistake we just have happy accident.

Please feel free to leave some suggestions !

It's been a while since I sprayed a full set of markings on an aircraft, I forgot how satisfying it was. I'm using the 1man army set on the DBMK sea fury.

Painted it in an Eastern Front scheme. The decals mysteriously vanished into thin air somewhere, so I'll just apply them whenever I eventually find them haha.

Help - General Returning after 30 years

Post image
26 Upvotes

This summer while on break (teacher) I decided to make some models. Last time I did this I was 10 years old. Back then all I had was Testors glue and paint. Trying out washes, airbrush, varnishes etc for the first time. Buying bits and pieces to help me since my hands shake. I know they are rough but I’m learning via trial and error and You Tube.

Hey all heres progress on the 1/48 Lancer.

I was not happy with the front end so i completely rebuilt it and added open refueling port and open rear cockpit. The window seams are better now too

All 3 major fuselage parts are together, the fit was pretty good for 40 year old warped plastic but much sanding and rescribing is required

I added the 3d printed wing "curtains" and interior detail

Ive already started initial painting with Creos FS36118, this will now be a modern Lancer

im going to use some pre shading on this one, something i rarely do but in this case the model is so huge it will require it

Next up fitting the huge intakes

Later

Completed VOLVO 760 GLE

I'm a beginner in model making. I've assembled one or two Tamiya models before out of hobby (without painting). About ten years have passed, and I received a Volvo 850 wagon kit for my birthday. I know this kit is very valuable, so in order to improve my skills, I started to continue practicing model making. I completed a Tamiya GTO kit (or 3000GT if you're in the US) and bought a Volvo 760 kit as my second fully committed model. This kit isn't difficult to make, but perhaps because its mold-making process was a bit outdated, some parts don't fit together perfectly... I replaced the wheels with better ones and retained their rotation by modifying the axles. There are some details I haven't finished yet because I ran out of paint and the windshield wipers have somehow ended up under the table, but I think it looks really good. Maybe I just love Volvo too much.

Help - General Tanks and AFV's of Kriegsmarine???

Post image

Is it well known that Luftwaffe had their own armored units. Did Kriegsmarine also had their? Their marine infanterie units were active from literally 1-st September 1939. In 1945 it is known that such units commanded by former uboot commanders fought tanks with succeses.

I only found that some Hetzers were appointed to some marine units and some most likely fictious painting schemes like this Sdkfz 234 Drilling. Fiction or maybe not?

So Kriegsmarine had own armored units or not?

Not gonna lie, it seems like interesting part of modelling while been absolutely forgotten.

Thanks for help.

I made this from an Eduard 1/72 Bf 109G-5/6 dual combo kit. It had all the parts for a G-14 so I just sent it! It's not my best, but I think it turned out decent!

My first attempt at "proper" weathering, with panel line wash and whatnot. I like how this one turned out, although the kit was missing some track links and the gun barrel! I had to force in a metal after-market one that didn't fit great. The octopus camouflage was a lot of fun to paint, and no decals to deal with. Time for the figurines next, which might not turn out so great...

Hi all, I'm an amateur modelmaker (37F) from the Netherlands and I'm building a diorama for some 1:72 armoured vehicles. I got a little carried away with it and now the vehicles ment for it don't fit in it anymore but Oh well, we wel figure something else out. I'm really enjoying working on this.

I'm still waiting on my tinting and then will be trying resin water by AK Interactive for the first time, which was the original goal of making this.

Does anyone know about this or am I dumb to not notice it? I had this marker for a year and accidentally put my thumb on this cap, it fell out showing that it had another replacement nib stored in it.

Just wanted to share, stoked😛😛
