Hi I started buying small grams last month . Learned my leasson quick on how to buy them now . Well as much info and advice as I can get and find. So bought some grams last month and paid 10 over spot then paid about 30 in shipping and about 40-50 in taxes. Round about prices. So I’m looking to find a place near me that sells gold so I don’t have to pay shipping and maybe not so much taxes . And insurance ect. But I can’t find a definitive answer at what’s best at this point to buy. I do t have much so I can only buy around 5-6 hundred worth every month. I keep getting different answers that I should stay with the bars or no I need to buy coins. I’m probably going to do both if I can find the right prices. But what is all your opinions on this. I have some bars and coins that I bought at a gold shop but I have always had a dream to find some nuggets in Western Australia or just set up a sluice box in the Yukon somewhere over the summer. Even if I just get a couple of grams the blood sweat and tears it would have taken to find that gold would be so worth it. Is your gold mostly bought or do you have some got out of the ground yourself?

Non faccio parte del gruppo, però ho pensato di chiedere un parere qui perché immagino che molti di voi seguano il mercato dell’oro da parecchi anni e ne sappiano decisamente più di me.
Io investo principalmente in azioni e ETF azionari. Nel mio portafoglio tengo anche una piccola quota di oro, non enorme, semplicemente come asset rifugio e come elemento di diversificazione. Nel mio caso utilizzo un ETC, non oro fisico, ma è solo una scelta personale: non ho assolutamente nulla contro chi preferisce lingotti o monete.
Per come l’ho sempre vista io, l’oro è stato storicamente un bene rifugio, un asset abbastanza decorrelato dall’azionario e che, nel lungo periodo, tende a seguire più il valore della moneta e l’inflazione che non la crescita economica. Poi ogni tanto arrivano periodi particolari, come quello degli ultimi anni, in cui parte una bull run molto importante e l’oro si allontana parecchio da quella che sembrerebbe essere la sua “media”. Adesso sta correggendo e, personalmente, non ci vedo nulla di particolarmente sorprendente.
La domanda che volevo farvi è un’altra.
Ho 33 anni e investo da circa 13 anni, quindi qualcosa ho visto, ma sicuramente non ho l’esperienza di chi segue l’oro da decenni.
La sensazione che ho avuto negli ultimi anni è che l’oro si stia muovendo molto più spesso nella stessa direzione del mercato azionario rispetto a quanto ricordassi. Mi capita di vedere un ETF azionario globale (tipo un FTSE All-World o simili) in rialzo e, guarda caso, anche l’oro chiude positivo. Oppure viceversa.
Ovviamente non intendo dire che abbiano una correlazione perfetta, però mi sembra che quella decorrelazione così marcata che mi aspettavo sia diventata meno evidente.
È solo una mia impressione, magari influenzata dagli ultimi anni particolari? Oppure c’è qualche cambiamento strutturale che mi sfugge e che spiega questo comportamento?
Mi piacerebbe davvero sentire il parere di chi segue questo mercato da molto più tempo di me. Grazie a chi avrà voglia di rispondere!
