Possible trades by position

While the current roster is full and has plenty of options...

C

Are they confident smith is coming back right?

OF/2B

Three positions could upgrade LF RF 2B

Despite Edman performing well he can shift to any of these so possible targets could include second

Tucker and Hernandez are crazy expensive but with the chance for threepeat you go all in and could platoon those guys

The roster has real vulnerability in lack of consistent righty offense while Smith is out

Starter

The injury options are Ohtani Glasnow Snell

Can they probably piece together four great starters? Probably

Relievers are always needed but the team has pretty high depth there

C

LF

RF

A player who stands out here is Taylor Ward free agent bad team and incredible walk rate

At second base you could attempt Gleyber Torres though his BABIP is rather high

Mookie… my atf - I love him… curious on everyone’s opinion about Roberts saying to the effect “the expectation of him now isn’t what it was when was younger and playing outfield at the plate”

Yes he helped win us 3 World Series championships, 4 AS, 4 SS, 2 GG, and nearly a mvp or 2. Impressive stuff, HOF stuff just for his time in LA alone! My hang up is his salary though- 30 plus million this year thru 2032. Should we all not expect a performance of a 30 million salary for him? Cut him slack?

Dodger stadium tips for taking kids.

I’m taking my toddler to her first Dodger game soon and would like to hear some pro tips. It’s an evening game so it should be cooling down, meaning the heat is hopefully one less thing to worry about. I was considering taking a travel stroller, but what are y’all’s experience with doing so? Thanks.

Thoughts about the CBA and the three peat

Asking this here, because I thought it would get a little more dispassionate analysis here than on the baseball subreddit.

So, it's fairly obvious that the owners are milking the crap out of the Dodgers winning consecutive World Series to push for a salary cap for competitive balance purposes, even though it is fairly obvious that the salary cap is really intended to more accurately estimate the cost of a franchise for owners.

However, the commercials from MLB in support of the salary cap for competitive balance made me think of the following hypothetical scenario. If the Dodgers did not win the National League pennant this year, could that event completely destroy the "competitive balance" argument for a salary cap and guarantee baseball to start on time in 2027?

It's an interesting scenario, because it ties the salary cap to the Dodgers winning another World Series.

Why is Pages/3B Coach not signalling Alfonzo to speed up running to home? Ohtani and Dodgers lose an RBI as the Dodgers Catcher doesn't touch home plate before Ohtani is tagged out at 2nd.

Why is Alfonzo not legging it out for home, instead of jogging? Especially on a ball that Ohtani might stretch into a Double. Moreover, Pages with full view of the play developing should be windmilling Alfonzo into home (as should the 3rd base coach right)

Current Dodgers Rank on All-time Dodgers HR List

With Max Muncy hitting his 19th HR last night, he is now tied with Ron Cey with 228 career Homerun as a Dodgers making them both #5 on the All-Time list. As I like to look at stats, I looked up the entire Dodgers HR list and put together the Top 5 players on the list. Then I wrote down where all the current active Dodgers are on the list, how many HRs they have, and who they are chasing.

It is interesting to see with many HR hitters, there seems to be no one really who may actually take the #1 spot from Duke Snider until Ohtani perhaps decides to give up pitching and focus purely on hitting as he had to do the previous 1 and half seasons.

Here is the list below. Enjoy.

Who else remembers this moment from the 2025 playoff run? What a great series... and ironic that Andy Pages who had struggled so hard at the plate the entire post series was the at-bat that clinched the NLDS for the Dodgers!

Numbers can be insightful and interesting.

Baseball Savant has a "comparison" tool, and while a lot of people like to use it to compare position players across teams, I don't really care to do that.

Stats usually need context, too, and we know the context of our Dodgers, so I thought "let's just put the boys side-by-side and see what's what."

Obviously Shohei is a God.

Mookie's numbers are better than I thought, honestly, which is so good to see. Freddy gonna Freddy. Max is killin' it, and honestly I'm pretty happy with where Dalton is, all things considered.

I am not crazy about most of Kyle's stats, but I think that's where context matters. The Dodgers are a machine, and if you've ever gone from working at a mom-n-pop store to a Fortune 500, I imagine that's what it's like. I also think Teo is capable of more; hopefully he settles in and starts raking, too.

(I added Edman because he at least has expected stats, and I think he's going to be in the daily lineup moving forward. Also the tool limits you to 9 players.)

Not gonna lie when he looked right at me I kinda froze.

Super happy to see Freddie and Alex Vesia and our beloved Mookie. As a Red Sox fan his loss hurt the most.

Lots of Dodgers fans there. Whole third base side.

Gave a Dodgers fan a game ball that we got since we got an extra one that Judge signed. Pretty wild day.
