Out of all the romances in Disgaea, this is the only one I've seen pretty much zero consensus on. Making this post half to rationalize my own thoughts and half to hear others.

For me, I really like them, but I recognize that it's definitely motivated by my bias for well executed angst - and regardless of whether or not you like them as a couple, their connection in general is well written.

The biggest problem, as far as I see it anyways, is that the story just doesn't flesh out their present day connection too much, but that doesn't really ruin it for me. Considering Artina's in disguise for most of the story, and that by the time she does reveal herself they have to deal with Fear the Great, there just isn't really any time to flesh things out without subtracting from other things.

That's the thing I like about their ending; the two of them recognizing that now that things have cooled down they need to reconnect and figure out what their relationship is going forward. Is it just a promise that needs to be fulfilled, or is it something more? It definitely leaves a lot of blanks to be filled, but hey, what is shipping if not filling in the blanks?

tl;dr - I fully recognize it's nothing groundbreaking in the slightest, and there isn't much there on paper, but I like what *is* there a lot and enjoy filling in those blanks.

I want to make genius level unlocked units and they're like 10K each, I have 300 managers so I already have the massive boost, I just don't know a good map up to this point in the game.

What is everyone thoughts on the game ?

I just unlocked Super Overlord Difficulty for Chara World and I stopped on the exclusive Secret Scroll Prinny tile on the first run. This move is even better than in previous titles visually.

I have no idea why my Innocents aren't breeding. I put like 4 starred unsubdued Mangers in and fought the 1st stage and beat it in one turn several times but they won't produce new ones. Am I missing something?

I went with a punk biker aesthetic for this design, something I believe Laharl would love to wear as a female overlord. I hope you guys like it.

I decided to play through Soul Nomad & The World Eaters again, since I never got a chance to play through Demon Path, and then I lost my save. God, this game brings me so much joy just from Gig utterly roasting everyone within earshot. Well, now that I've gone through the main game and Demon Path, I wanted to see what quotes you guys really remember and love from the game. Mine is the above - the scene is basically Shauna acting like Team Mom: making the ousted queen brush her teeth, while trying to make Gestahl go to bed properly, while her sister Trish wanders into the room looking lost, and then Galahad is just babbling nonsense, and finally Kanan is just laughing at the madness from the sidelines, finally Gig just quips: "Is this the center of a brutal, bloodthirsty regime, or a daycare?"

There's no shortage of amazing Gig quotes though - what is your favourite moment?

Like what I am getting at is the kind of gameplay mechanics in the franchise that seem good on paper, but don’t feel right in execution.

For instance, something I would like to see in a redone version of Disgaea 3 is the Weapon Mastery system because while I really enjoy grinding in the game, I have no idea why the developers removed such a system in the game since I hope that if a remastered version does ever come out, it will fix that problem because it was one of my favorite parts of the previous games.

As in, if you already purchased it before it was de-listed.

Can someone who has it in their account transaction history check to see if it will let you download it from there on a PS3? I don't believe it will show up just searching for it in the store. Or if someone purchased it and still has it installed, can you still launch and play it? Thanks in advance. :)

Edit for clarity: I'm aware it's possible to re-down the majority of delisted games if a person had already purchased them, but I'm looking for harder evidence for this specific game. Someone is stating that Sony yanked it from their transaction history and they can't re-download it and I'm trying to see if they're full of it or not. They have it installed already but it tells them the license expired in Sept 2024 so the game won't start, and they say they can't re-download it as it's been removed from their PS3 transaction history.

Disgaea didn’t have a good first impression on me. My first title in the series was the first game on psp called Disgaea afternoon of darkness. Now, I am no stranger to tactical rpgs. Played my fair share of them from your final fantasy tactics to your fire emblem. Disgaea 1 to me was so confusing. Didn’t know what to level, how many party members to have on the map, the amount of grinding felt overwhelming, and just felt lost in terms of what to do.

So, I dropped the game. After a couple months, I was talking to a fan of the series through a message board. Told him my issues and he gave me some advice. He also told me to try Disgaea 2 since it was much easier to play as well as to understand. Ended up buying Disgaea 2. I don’t know what happened, but I ended up loving Disgaea 2.

Why, you may ask? Well, I loved how I didn’t have to go crazy on the grind when it comes to the main story. Knowing I can have like 5 to 7 characters on the battle field was enough. Heck, I never had to use the item world at all. I still had to do some stuff like the reincarnation element, level certain classes to get other classes, but there was so many more ways to grind that it never felt a lot to me. It was a blast from start to finish.

This game made me a fan of the series. I started collecting the games, merch, watch the anime, and buying the PlayStation vita to play even more Disgaea on it. Couldn’t thank Disgaea 2 more for making me a fan of the series.

I think im going crazy. I remember playing a Disgaea game in like 2005 where you and a friend could hack and slash your way through hordes of enemies. it was ridiculous. the characters were familiar but a little chibi stylized. Please help. I want to play it again for nostalgial, but i can't remember the name of the game.

Some voice actors definitely sound different in Disgaea 6 & 7 compared to Disgaea 1-5, which might be a result of their age. As well as the poor voice direction, as the recording was done during lockdown in 2020.

The actors who didn't return:

Adell — Originally voiced by Shiloh Strong in Disgaea 2, who stepped away from acting after the 2000s. Adell was also apparently voiced by Todd Haberkorn in Disgaea 4 & D2. Currently, the character is voiced by Austin Lee Matthews.

Mao — Originally voiced by Vic Mignogna in Disgaea 3 (and the DLC in D4-D5). Following the uproar about Vic's legal troubles and allegations of sexual harassment, Landon McDonald stepped in as the replacement for Mao.

Raspberyl — Originally voiced by Laural Bailey in Disgaea 3-5, but she has since been replaced by Lizzie Freeman in Disgaea 6-7. It seems that Laura Bailey is now focusing on union roles, which may explain her absence from Disgaea 6-7 and other franchises she has been involved with.

Sicily — Originally voiced by Eden Riegel, but she has since been replaced by Amber Connor in Disgaea 7, who has taken over the role. The lack of explanation for Eden's non-return could be due to union-related matters or was simply never asked to return.

Usalia — Originally voiced by Christine Marie-Cabanos, the character is now voiced by Emi Lo in Disgaea 6-7. Christine Marie-Cabanos had some health issues which could explain why she didn't return.

Prier — Originally voiced by Jennifer Hale in La Pucelle Tactics, but in Phantom Brave 2, she is now voiced by Brenna Larsen. Not sure why Jennifer Hale didn't return.

Honestly surprised this scene from Etrange Overlord wasn't use for memes, but then I remember the game kind of went under the radar (really a lot of people missed out on this gem)

So I have come across a dilemma in the Disgaea games where sometimes I beat an Item God that has a weapon ranked at 40 with a number next to it like 7.

I mean, what I am trying to say is that I was wondering how important it was to steal a Legendary Weapon at Level 0 because I am in Disgaea 3 having gotten a Legendary Key of Scion at Rank Level 7 as I was wondering why some players go out of their way to go for a Legendary Weapon at number 0.

It honestly feels like everything so interconnected, I don't know where to even start making a dent in getting stuff set up. Like for one thing I need to max out subclasses which seems to be best done through the item world but then the item world needs yet another bunch of things set up.

I've already unlocked Land of Carnage and my Sage can do the Asagi farming thing, albeit at 2 stars. Which leads to setting up one thing, but then we get into the situation above. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what my entry point is going to be here.

What is the starting point of all of this? What are the basics I can work from?

Is it possible to get the "Fun" Category Weapons from interrogated enemies on low levels/tiers as well (as soon as the first time meeting them on story maps) or do they need to be extremly high level/rank?

I was not expecting this yet it kinda makes sense.

I think the hate on D6 was aimed directly on the part that is the least relevant: the level cap. Everyone talks about how stupid it is to go with 99 million for level cap and stuff like that, and, while i agree that it's unecessary, i think the worst aspect of the game truly was the auto-battle system.
Not that auto-battle is 100% bad, it can be very useful for stuff like the Item World, but they built the game around this mechanic in such a way that it made almost all of the maps easy as fuck. Maybe you will struggle with a map here or there because you are underleveled, but that's about it.

There isn't anything like the X-Dimension from D4 where you really need to stop and think "how the fuck do i do this?". There isn't stuff like the Challenge Stages from D5 (Scorching Flame comes to mind).

Now, i really love that you don't need to do some stuff over and over again. I hated having to luck out to get certain scrolls for my characters in D5, i loved that you could just create your own scrolls. Loved how easy it was to access everything with the menus (using L2/R2), i even liked the 3d characters. It's not the same as the sprite work from their older games, but i'll take it.

I mean, i don't think i'm adding anything new. It is a step down from D5, it feels half baked, but it's not something that i would tell fans to skip. I have seen people tell Disgaea fans to skip D6, and i don't think it's THAT BAD. To be fair, while D4 is the better Disgaea, i personally liked D6 more than D4 because of how annoying D4 can be with some things (like getting that Prinny Suit from Pringer X, which basically cucks you out of the platinum unless you do a second playthrough).

Disgaea 4 is what made me a fan of the game

2 is alright, it's kinda good

5 is so boring

6 is aight

7 is boring too

Even if 4 has my most hated character (Fuuka) because of her adamant dream coping, Valvatorez has the most right amount of balance of seriousness and goofyness in the story

Also, can anyone tell me why people liked 5 so much? I just don't get it. Killia is the most boring MC I've ever played as
