Chicago PD - Erin

i started this show because im a big Sophia Bush fan and absolutely love her character. im bummed she leaves so early on.

but my questions: is the show good after her departure? & is it worth to watch it for Adam and Kim? because they're my favorite duo and idk if I should continue once Erin is gone...just wanna make sure the show is still enjoyable. Kim has become my favorite tho and i would like to continue for her. 🤞🏼

Burgess and Roy

Upvotes

How did Burgess get kidnapped and almost killed and everyone just moved on because they “couldn’t find Roy” , literally intelligence always comes for blood, they always get them in cuffs, come hell or high water. How did Jay,Atwater and especially Adam, just forget about Roy. I know that Burgess might have a feeling he’s dead, based on that interaction with Upton at the hospital. But c’mon! Also, I hated how everyone besides voight was suddenly on their high horses talking about morals and rules, they’ve broken so many rules for random victims, and they were hesitating at every step for one of their own. That was so frustrating to watch. I felt Adam‘s pain.

Question What do you guys think about this?

This scene was hella well made

So after thinking about this for a while I may have noticed some stuff that nobody noticed. When Rabbit said "Because I know you're not unfeeling", I know he means that Voight has a hidden soft side which we all know, but when he said "And-and you gotta understand having somebody that makes you better, you know?" I realized that the scriptwriters may have hinting at Chapman because technically she did try to make Voight a more by-the-book cop but also she tries to get past his morally gray side that blocks him from any romantic connection.

I feel bad for Voight and Rabbit

In this scene when Rabbit kept yelling at Voight it was pretty intense but when Rabbit said "You're worse than trash, you're-you're an abomination, you're less than nothing, you're worse than nothing!" I also think the producers were highly referencing what Reid said to Voight right before he died in the Season 12 finale. It just kinda makes sense imo.

(Sorry if the video is loading in some parts my wifi was lagging)

For anyone wondering this is from 13x17

Anyways, let me know your thoughts!

Discussion Detective Voight

Upvotes

I’ll preface this by saying I haven’t watched Chicago PD and don’t have much interest to, but I’ve been watching Chicago Fire and almost done with Season 1.

Is there any good at all to detective Voight? From my impressions on Chicago Fire and the random YouTube clips I’ve seen of Chicago PD, he seems like scum of the earth, dirty as they come. Is that at all right?

Linstead.

Tenían mucha química y ambos sacaban el humor y la picardía del otro, eran divertidos de ver.

Discussion What do you think about Voight and Anna’s relationship?

I’m doing another rewatch and I’m on season 9 again. I can not figure out if Voight thinks of Anna as a daughter type of relationship or was he falling for her?! It’s so hard for me to figure out cause it looks like one way in some episodes and then the other in the rest. What do you all think?!

Discussion Storyline idea

What if Voight has a second grandchild out there?

Now we all know that he was introduced on Fire when his son, Justin, got in trouble for DUI. What if, around that time, Justin was seeing someone who found out she was pregnant by the time Justin went to prison & they completely lost contact that he never found out?

& what if that girl ends up coming back into Voight’s life & reveals to him that his late son is the father of her child? Or she could be involved in a case Intelligence is working & he finds out that way?

Supposedly that child woulda been conceived in 2012 & born in 2013 which would make them 13-years-old by now.

Just some thoughts & ideas. No big deal

Discussion Watching all Chicago series

I am at the season 7 ep 14 of PD and Season 8 ep 13 of fire and finished all of Med for reference.

Why is it that not a single (main cast) female character up until this point has been able to maintain a pregnancy without having a miscarriage or insane complications. Not including Dr. Manning.

Burgess just had her miscarriage and when she first found out she was pregnant, I literally thought to myself. Please let her just have this baby if she decides she wants to have it, because at least one of these woman deserve to be able to have their babies. 😭

Don’t spoil please but I know later on in med people do end up having children successfully. But 😮‍💨 years into the show and all it is for the main cast is pain and loss when it comes to pregnancies.

Discussion Half a season with Hailey Upton and I already have mixed feelings

It’s a bit ironic really because I love the fact that she stands for what’s right, at times challenging Voight which is rather bold for a newbie! But it’s the one trait about her that really grinds my gears.. watching s5 ep10 and her holier than though/pretentious attitude with Jay isn’t doing her any favours. Then the scene with Camilla at the end?? Found that extremely odd almost as if she was being possessive not protective over Jay.

Anyways I’m hoping there’s some character development with her because I’m really missing Lindsay(brb gotta do research on why she left because I refuse to believe they had budget cuts so early on).

Appreciation Post Marina Squerciati (Kim Burgess) - Acknowledge her!

The actress Marina Squerciati should be acknowledged more. Does she have awards? The character of Kim Burgess has to be one of the strongest female police officers in the history of Crime/Drama TV shows. Her storyline is very intense. She saved her sister after a brutal sexual assault. She’s been shot more than once. She unfortunately lost her child while being attacked on duty. She saved herself from being killed. Rescued and raised a child from a traumatic experience and family homicide. Became a great detective by perfecting her law enforcement skills. Her storyline is definetly one of the most emotionally intense ones on the show and currently on TV.

Discussion Erin ughhhhh 🙄

Is it just me or anyone else really annoyed by Sophia?
Wish they had casted a different actor. I was so glad when she turned her badge in at the end of S1 or S2 (cant remember). I was happy she’s out and yet here she’s again. In S3 now and have been skipping scenes every time she’s on the screen

Anyone else feel like the show completely went sideways after the first 2 seasons? After that all the episodes seem a bit rushed to me

Question Is there a chance I could see them film?

I am traveling to Chicago in mid August. I have no idea what their shooting schedule typically looks like, but I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a chance I could find them around the city or where if I could.

Question Is there a reason for the order of the crossover episodes?

They always do Fire, Med, Pd. Is there a reason for this rather than doing it in release order? (Fire, Pd, Med)

I was watching the infection crossover episodes and it got me thinking

Meme This line and gesture from Imani is so adorable imo

"I'm looking for a new office phone. Mine has gone paws up." 😄 😂 ❤️ 👍 👀 💯

Idk the way she did it was just so cute :)

From 13x10 (Watching a rerun on NBC rn)

The box with the sideways triangle positioned to the right is the episode on the NBC paused so I can take the screenshot (I didn't know this would happen in the episode so I had to take the picture from the website and even if I knew it was coming I don't have a phone so I can't take a picture bc I usually do my posts on my pc)

Honestly ik A LOT of ya'll hate Imani but personally I love her character ❤️ 👍 🔥

Discussion This drama is finally coming up on Netflix in South Korea

Post image
47 Upvotes

It will be uploaded on Netflix from August 1st. Previously, it was an exclusive release of Coupang Play.

But I'm worried that only some seasons are coming up like SVU. SVU only supports 12 to 16 seasons on Netflix in Korea.

(Except for season 1, koreans can see it on wavve season 2 to season 26)

Question Character dynamics or Why did Hailey and Kim never become good friends? (and similar questions)

I've been watching Chicago Fire and Med and those shows have really made me realize that PD never invests any time between character friendships or dynamics outside of couples and individual characters plus voight. Kim and Hailey went through some tough moments together but I can't think of a scene where the show really explored the friendship aspect to things, eg during Hailey's last season when she's struggling with depression it seems her friends from intelligence aren't really there for her, or perhaps burgess after her failed pregnancy.

The best friendship was between Atwater and Burgess in the early seasons and that is also completely forgotten later. Adam and Jay could've been like brothers but again not much is there, when he left I don't think he even said goodbye to Adam or Kim. There's many scenes in chicago fire of the characters helping each other through grief, pain, and all kinds of struggles. I understand PD is a darker show but the intelligence unit could be even stronger if these dynamics were given time. It seems nowadays the only dynamics that matter are one on one relationships with voight or romantic couples.

Hailey and Kim, Adam and Jay, Kev and Hailey, Jay and Kim, I feel like we were robbed of some great duos and trios. The unit should feel more like a unit
