I am baffled by the stupid ass ending that took place. It felt so stupid that the girl kept the baby after ALL that took place. It felt like everything that happened was so pointless. David holds the place up to get her to keep the baby. Her dad gets shot, the dude's dad has a heart attack, a sick child almost dies plus gets traumatized from all that... Only for it to all end with the result that David wanted, except now he's dead.

This was my very first episode I've seen, because of that YouTube clip. Is the rest of the show like that?

I love Chicago med because of the personal stories about the cast and human centered storylines with the patients and family. Is Chicago pd known for this as well or is it more action and shooting?

When Crockett decided to jump straight for surgery in a case, Will said something about, “Medicare is paying for it anyway”, to which Crockett retorted something about “not padding my pockets”. I’m just so lost. I’ve barely been able to hear the TV over our new pup and our other dog screaming at each other, so I’ve missed parts, but I’m towards the end of the episode and can’t be bothered restarting.

They always do Fire, Med, Pd. Is there a reason for this rather than doing it in release order? (Fire, Pd, Med) I was watching the infection crossover episodes and it got me thinking

I feel like this show isn't really that huge a part of the cultural zeitgeist as much as other hit medical dramas. The Pitt is the medical drama du jour because it's borderline high art already and Grey's was kind of like a dramatic, procedural dark mirror of Friends so you kind of get why they have so much recall. But I feel like this show is kind of an afterthought compared to other procedurals like The Good Doctor, Psych, House, Scrubs, ER etc. Hell even New Amsterdam gets talked about more I think and Med is on pace to run for 3 times as long as it. Anyone have any ideas on why this show doesn't seem as popular as the rest despite its obvious staying power?

I’m on season 5 episode 18 (first watch of Med, but I’ve been watching Fire and P.D for years, just couldn’t get into Med until now).

1. it’s a medical drama, keyword being DRAMA. there is SUPPOSED to be conflict.
   
2. it’s a FICTIONAL program, not a documentary.

i swear people seem to forget those two things and struggle to separate fiction and reality.

yes, i love CM, and don’t see the issues other people have with it, particularly with Manning and Halstead, who i most commonly see get criticised. critiscism is fine, of course, it just gets to a point where it feels forced and like people are struggling to separate fiction from reality, but that’s just my opinion.

Anyone have kind of an estimate as to how many times this woman called DCFS?

A few weeks ago I made a rant about this woman.

Well, after another season I have to admit I was wrong. Not only has she grown on me, but I also realized she’s become strangely inspiring on a personal level. Her storyline made me ask myself: If I had a similar terminal diagnosis like hers, would I really keep living the way I do now? And honestly probably not. I’d stop putting things off, spend more time doing what I love, and stop being so afraid of actually living the time I have left. As odd as it sounds her character even pushed me to be more spontaneous irl! Like I finally visited that special bar alone I’d been wanting to go to, took a trip to explore places I’d never been before, and even went on a few dates and hookups haha! 🙈

I have so much respect for Caitlin. She’s become such an important addition to the Med cast. Dr. Lenox is witty, fierce and often misunderstood and I think she’s written incredibly well. She brings a completely different energy that the show really needed and her personality contrasts perfectly with the rest of the team.
So yeah… I was wrong, and I’m glad all of you who defended her were right! 🤗

Guy became a real jerk seemingly out of nowhere. Complete character change that should’ve happened more gradually imo. He’s just all of the sudden no longer understanding or supportive and starts acting like high school age boy level jealous. The way he acts is embarrassing.

I am getting concerned that one or more characters may not be returning next season since we have not heard any confirmation that they will be back, other than from Charles and Goodwin.

Title says it; Chicago PD has such cool theme music, which you don't hear while watching broadcast in real time/On Demand. But I'm currently on my first rewatch of PD & while streaming; was reminded of how well done the title music is. Then I recallled how, while watching Chicago Fire (which I started well after Med, then PD) & I got to the episode that was the backdoor pilot for PD. A little of PD's theme was played & since I was already familiar, my heart began to beat faster haha then I realized why! Also love Chi Med theme. 2nd, and lastly Chi Fire. Anyone else have a favorite from OneChicago-verse? If you haven't heard then you really oughta YouTube all three!
