I always feel attendance is similar to that rule in lower classes like hands back, i don't how it increases my discipline it only increase my bp nothing else.

Q2) given an array of 0s and 1s, can you increment any value with a cost of 1, you have to make the final array such that no adjacent values are equal
-> dp ques, state can be dp[i][j] is cost till ith idx with value = j and j will be <= 2.

Q3) given two arrays, you can do the following operation any no. of times to make both the array equal.
step 1: make a[i] = a[i] + 1 and a[i + 1] = a[i + 1] - 1,
step 2: swap a[i] and a[i + 1]
you have to tell min no. of operations required or give -1 if not possible.

I'm a final-year Computer Science student from a Tier-3 college in India.

My college has almost no placements, very few companies visit, and referrals are extremely hard to get.

Because of that, I've spent the last 1+ year trying to build myself into a strong software engineer.

Here's what I've done so far:

200+ LeetCode problems with 300+ days of consistency.

Strong understanding of DSA and still practicing daily.

Built projects beyond basic CRUD (Distributed Monitoring Platform, AI/Multi-Agent project, Docker, Redis, BullMQ, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

Studied OS, DBMS, CN, System Design.

Continuously improved my resume and portfolio.

The problem is...

I'm barely getting interview opportunities.

Most applications end in:

Resume rejection

No OA

Ghosting

No replies from recruiters

Very few referral opportunities

The current market honestly feels brutal.

Now I'm confused.

I have roughly one year left before graduation, and I don't want to waste it making the wrong decision.

These are the options I'm considering:

Option 1 Continue what I'm doing:

Daily DSA

Build even stronger projects

Keep learning backend/system design

Apply to hundreds of internships and off-campus jobs.

Option 2 Accept that the market is too uncertain and start preparing seriously for GATE, keeping M.Tech from a top institute as a backup while continuing only minimal coding practice.

I genuinely don't know which path has a better ROI anymore.

I'm not asking for motivation.

I'm asking for practical advice from people who have already been through this.

If you had exactly one year left, came from a Tier-3 college with almost no placement support, and your goal was to get into a good software engineering role, what would you honestly do?

Would you continue betting on software engineering and off-campus hiring?

Or would you shift a major part of your time towards GATE?

If my current strategy is flawed, please tell me.

If I'm overestimating my chances, tell me.

If I'm underestimating them, tell me that too.

I don't want false hope.

I just want the advice you'd give your younger brother if he were in my position.
