Hey ATX! I love collecting vinyl records (mostly hip-hop, but lots of other genres too) and I’m wondering if any other local enthusiasts can point me towards more events or local tips. 🎶

Here’s what’s on my radar so far:
- Local record shops, each with their own character (I mostly know the crates at Waterloo, Breakaway and End of an Ear)
- Austin Record Convention in May and October
- Digging at thrift shops, estate sales, and garage sales

Anyone know if there are other vinyl meet-ups, discord servers, swap networks, flea markets with records, or perhaps another convention that I haven’t found yet?

IC 1396 the elephant trunk nebula. Located about 2400 light years away the nebula is a site of new star formation with some stars being only 100,000 years old or so.

this is one of the longest exposures ive ever done. 30 hours of data in my backyard. processed to bring out the colors of the hydrogen and oxygen in the nebula.

Big plays, small plays, just more live theater. I am aware that Zach has some and that Hyde Park Theatre does much smaller productions.

Anywhere else I should look?

Hello! I’m looking for recommendations for a church in Austin. We’re motivated to start going again because we’d like to get our daughter baptized.

My wish list would be:
- Great sermons, preferably fairly intellectual. I love when they incorporate history or etymology, for example.
- Traditional music
- Liberal values (though if possible, I’d prefer minimal politics)
- Centrally located, easily accessible from downtown / S Congress
- I grew up Presbyterian so Presbyterian or similar would be ideal

I’d love to hear any recommendations for kind, welcoming, intelligent church communities for us to join! Thank you!

We had to get a few things from HEB anyway, so we went a little further to the location on Louis Henna around sunset.
