Not smell but the service. I go to the one at State and Madison frequently and today I was asked if I needed a bag and I said no. Bagged my items and charged me anyway. I said I wanted to use my rewards dollars and I got ignored. I wonder if it has to do with private equity because Walgreens has never been this bad. The one on 67th and Jeffrey barely has anything. I should have just gone to CVS. Thanks for reading

These aren't expensive time pieces, but they are dependable watches that have personal meaning to me. Both are over 25 years old, so they do require some care. But I have taken them to watch repair places and these specialty shops seem to focus on higher end watches. They don't want to bother just changing a battery and cleaning the watch or want close to $100 for a job that I think shouldn't be much more than $25.00. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated!

There’s another half hour zoom call with the hiring manager and then an hour long panel interview. Start date is August 18th.

My husband and I (33 & 35) no kids are planning to move from NYC to Chicago next year and would love some advice!
We currently live in the East Village NYC and love being able to walk everywhere, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, parks, farmers markets, and street festivals. We have a do, and enjoy going out, but we’re not big on the late-night party scene anymore.
After exploring Chicago, we fell in love with Lincoln Park and think it’s where we’d eventually like to buy because we love being near the lake, green space and the west village vibe . However, we want to rent for our first year to really get to know the city.
I’m a flight attendant, so being near the Blue Line would be convenient (though I’d only use it about once a week), which has us considering Wicker Park or Logan Square. My husband will be commuting downtown five days a week.
If you were in our shoes, where would you rent for the first year to really get to know the city. Any other neighborhoods we should check out?
Cost isn’t a major factor since we’ll be saving money compared to NYC. We’re really just looking for the best fit.

EDIT: forgot to mention we’re also looking at lakeview/lake view east being that it’s close proximity to the lake

I’ve been in Chicago for almost 2 years now and I’m in a commuter school, which makes hanging out with people I’m around a little difficult. It doesn’t help that I didn’t put too much effort beyond the first group of people I met but they don’t really care about exploring beyond our usual hangout activities.

Now I’m in my final few semesters and I have this urge to meet new people and just live a little more but it’s not the easiest when everyone’s doing their own thing :/

I love gaming, just exploring food and the fun stuff this city has to explore and i definitely want to get out of the comfort bubble I’ve made for myself!

Hello everyone, this will be my first time visiting downtown Chicago with my girlfriend. This will be our first real trip out of Texas. Both of us love seeing iconic landmarks, eating food and enjoy sports. Where should we stay in downtown to get the most out of our trip as we are only coming for 3 nights? Also please recommend must visit places!!!

I go back to work in a few weeks and feel like I’m starting to exit the newborn trenches. Are there any activities around Chicago you recommend doing with my 3 month old? I know that she won’t remember it but I don’t know if I’m ever going to get this opportunity to spend so much time with her again.

I know I can buy a 7-day Ventra pass, but I'm wondering if I actually need a Ventra card.

Can I simply tap my contactless Visa/Mastercard (or Google Wallet linked to my credit card) on CTA buses and trains, or is a Ventra card/app strongly recommended?

Are there any downsides to just using a regular credit card for all my rides (transfers, foreign cards, reliability, etc.)?

I work at a restaurant within the Gibsons Restaurant Group. On Friday, an 18 year old female host was shown a photo of a topless woman by our male AGM. The image was privately texted to the AGM by this woman. The woman does not work for Gibsons (we assume) but is a woman the manager has a personal relationship with.

What can we do moving forward? This manager has been notorious in causing issues, especially with the young female hosts. HR has been repeatedly notified of his inappropriate remarks and behavior, but this is by far the most egregious.

Any help would be appreciated.
