How do these look? I've been trying to make a distinct style.

Also is it ok to charge $25 for these? Takes me around 3-3.5 hrs per drawing, mostly to give the texture.

I’m not sure if crafts are allowed on here but it’s the most fitting subreddit I could think of.

I made a few of these felt keychains and I’d like to know how much someone would realistically buy one for and if there’s even a market for these?

They take about 4 hours give or take, the felt is 2 usd per sheet and the keychains are about 3 dollars, I also have to sketch the design of the character and pattern the pieces and stuff their heads a bit with stuffing. BUT- they ARE hot glued together and not sewn.

The pose can be provided by the commissioner if they want to!

I can also take mm2 weapons/adopt me pets depending on what weapon/pet it is.

Today,as a super beginner, after learning with YouTuber Jonny Art, I moved forward to Bob Ross Oil Painting. I used acrylic painting to finish it within 2 days. Actually is hard for me to mix a color which can approach to Bob, so I used those colors I preferred. I like Bob said “ an happy accident”, painting in happy and without any pressure or nervous in every step of drawing. So I’m still enjoy the painting even though I know my shadow, colors and lights look a little abnormal. 😆 I think that should be a happiness from a beginner. Well, of course, if someone can help to talk to me how to draw the grass and the tree in different layers, I’ll very appreciated and glad to heard that !

Okay, I accidentally spent my entire evening reading old Reddit threads, watching YouTube videos, and convincing myself I was "researching" instead of actually drawing. Somewhere around hour three I realized almost everyone gives the exact same beginner advice.

Draw more.

Use references.

Stop trying to make perfect sketches.

Learn values.

Draw things you actually enjoy.

My family is currently facing financial difficulties, so I’m taking selling art commissions very seriously right now. However, it’s been really tough. It’s been half a month, and despite putting a lot of effort into promoting myself, I haven't gotten any results, not a single commission request. I really need some advice right now. Could you help me figure out why this might be happening and what steps I should take in my current situation? Pls help.

Truly, I don't know how anyone gets a start in doing art commissions. And I don't mean that as in "why is no one commissioning me?" I mean where do you even begin to start doing commissions for others. I've been toying with the idea on and off for awhile, but I'm totally blind when it comes to setting up a storefront, pricing, and where you would go to advertise yourself. If you have any tips and information relevant in today's current landscape, I'd like to know.

The style changes on the mood and subject or even request and it's making it hard for me to find a demographic that wants to commission me. My "flexibility" also makes me sound incredibly suspicious when I ask clients "what style they'd like" or "how they'd like it rendered".

Should I stop doing that? I enjoy working with this variety but Im worried it's harming my reputation/credibility/marketability.

As an aside: Yall charge hourly or what??
