It feels so silly. If I stop at a place on my way to work it is a 25cent bag fee. But if I stop closer to work 5 minutes away, no bag fee. Why!?

It just bugs me that there is a fee that just goes directly to the business with no requirement or anything to make them use that extra money to reduce waste or something. Like the cost of bags is already baked into their prices and stuff, and they get them for pennies per bag. Why do I have to pay for pure profit to them for them to not do a single thing to help reduce waste and shit (I know city council can’t do that, but it still feels like a stupid cash grab for no actual benefits)

I agree. I’m also an ER nurse and the online wait times cause myself and my coworkers to receive verbal abuse MULTIPLE times a shift. People also don’t understand acuity and triage; if I had a dollar each time I’ve had to explain that we don’t operate like a drive-thru, and it is isn’t first-come-first-served, I’d be able to retire.
